After years of building my travel history.

I am ready for Canadian tourist visa.

Please experts, what's the application process like and requirements?

Please this is page 500+, abeg I have tried to read the much I can
But I want the updated guide to applying from Abuja.

I currently have 5 years UK tourist visa, of which I have used 3 times since I got it last year,
I also have a valid us visa, I have used as well.
I have history of middleast, Europe as well.

Please I await your response.

And what account statement is needed for someone that owns a registered company.
Thank you all in advance

Apply in the new portal, apply now that you have valid us visa because you wont be needing statement of account once you still have a valid us visa.

Hello all, please am in need of answers because am about applying for visitor visa for myself/toddler and study permit for my 2girls, now....
1) since this is a family reunification because my husband is a student in Canada, am I still expected to input date of arrival and departure? If yes, is using my husband study permit date which expire 2024 the right thing to do since my kids will be accompanying.

2) still on the dates, what is best to fill for family reunification since his study visa expires 2024 April

3) I don't have any travel history, how do I tackle this, thou I swore an affidavit of fact that I will return with my spouse, and also hoping to leverage my spouse travel history to promise replicating his attitude of respecting the rules of not over staying

4) can the application be done together or separately.

Pls do help am confuse.

1. You will need to adhere to the visitor visa conditions to apply for a visitor visa. You would need to put a length of time that would appear reasonable and would not cause the visa officer to doubt that you are coming back home. For instance, if you have a job, a three weeks vacation to see your husband or a maximum of one month might appear reasonable. But, anything too far beyond that might cause the officer to be wondering how you can afford to be away for that long, and maybe you don't have anything to make you come back home.

I suggest that you apply for the spousal open work permit instead. You can apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN), apply for jobs and support your husband financially in Canada. Also, you do not need to prove that you have a job to apply for a spousal open work permit since you have a husband who is legally in Canada as a student. But the case is different with a visitor visa. With a visitor visa, you would not be able to work based on the visit visa conditions.

2. It is addressed in question one above. The length of time of your study for (a Spousal Open Work Permit) will be limited to the duration of his study permit. He can then apply for PGWP upon completion of his studies and then PR; with that, the immigration status of you guys' changes, but you will still be there legally.

3. Travel history is a factor for a visitor visa, but approval can still be granted if proof of home ties is sufficiently explained. Still, it is much better if you go for a Spousal open work permit, but you would need to prove means of financial support. Study the Spousal Open work permit thread and feel free to ask them any follow-up questions. See the link below:

https://www.nairaland.com/2271485/canada-spouse-open-work-permit/141

4. Apply with your kids together as a group application.

Some people come to Canada on visit visas and arrange jobs where they get cash in hand as a salary, but I would strongly not advise anyone to do that. It is better to obey their laws.

Hiya

If your PR sibling will sponsor the trip you may not need to show bank statement. I’m a PR and my sister recently applied to come visit us. I put the details in an earlier post.

We didn’t include her bank statements at all… almost zero travel history (we didn’t mention she’d been to the uk cos it was more than 5years ago)

bcolat21:
Congrats Ameeria, pls what documents did u submit and what is the minimum amount to show as proof of funds.

I am applying to visit my PR sibling and I don't have travel history too,

Thank you in anticipation of a response from you

@fyorgyn,

That is not the norm! Your sister was just lucky, between she has 15 years working experience and she is leaving behind her husband and kids (she has strong family ties in Nigeria)

Applications are treated differently depending on the Visa Officer handling it.

True… that’s why I put “May not need”. I understand that ours was not the norm and each person’s situation is different.

Thanks for all you do

Thanks Olori. I followed your story closely, congratulations and thanks for sharing it. Actually when I read it gave me hope that IRCC or maybe Nairobi in particular just dey kolo generally, not that they have anything personal about my application.

Profile remains the same jare. No approval or anything. Still in 'submitted' status.

Apologies for the late response. Thank you so much, glad our story gave some hope.

Sorry to hear about the delay with IRCC. Have you heard anything recently? Please keep firing emails to them.
Praying for speedy response for your application.

Hello

Please how long does it take your biometrics to be updated on the portal

I have done biometrics in 2018, so didn’t need to do again. I did a family application recently I noticed my husbands biometrics has been updated but mine hasn’t been updated. Don’t know if it’s because I changed my name last year and my biometrics was done with my maiden name.

Please what do you advise.

You can relocate via the Study permit route. Check the Nairaland international student forum for guidelines.

1. A lot of Youtubers created video content explaining how to apply for visitor visa via the new IRCC portal when this was launched by IRCC last year, you can have a peep on YouTube but see if the below link helps:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCVPQULwgVE&t=21s

2. See below required documents for visit visas on the link below. I choose that your mum will spend beyond 6 months, you can also select that she will spend below 6 months if that is her plan. Either ways populates the required documentations.

1. Have you applied for your GCMS notes.

2. Send a concise e-mail to the MP of the region of your school to help you follow up but make sure you put all your info on the mail i.e application number, UCI, Passport number, Nationality, Date of Birth etc. to receive a fast response.

3. Keep sending periodic reminders to IRCC via webform. I don't really believe in bombarding immigrations with e-mails. maybe twice a week.

All the best!

Hello Nairalanders, today makes it 60days that I submitted- March 6th, 2022 my TRV on the new portal and no update as of now, I thought the timeline says 30 days on the new portal
.Should I be sending webform to them as my proposed travel date is in 2nd week June, 2022
In addition, one of the intended place to visit cancelled my reservation and not allowing me to rebooked again on Travel advisor, hope this won't be an issue...
Thank you

They will kindly provide you with a copy of the consent form to fill.
