COAS TO TROOPS IN THE NORTH EAST AS EID-EL-FITR APPROACHES - "Remain Dogged, Unrelenting"

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has charged troops in the ongoing counter terrorism and insurgency Operations in North East to remain dogged and unrelenting in the critical stage of ongoing operations. He gave the charge at Headquarters Joint Task Force(JTF) North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai(OPHK), Maiduguri today Sunday, 1 May 2022.

The COAS, who was on routine operational visit to the JTF OPHK to assess the level of successes recorded thus far, called on troops to be more decisive in routing the criminal elements from their enclaves.

Gen Yahaya arrived the theatre of operations in company of some principal staff officers, where he was given an update on the ongoing Operation DESERT SANITY and Operation LAKE SANITY. He expressed satisfaction with the successes so far, urging them to remain vigilant and proactive during the Eid-el-Fitr Celebration.

General Yahaya enjoined troops to continue to decimate the insurgents, and deny them freedom of action. This he said, will provide a safe environment and opportunity for other elements of national power to play their statutory roles in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the theatre.

The COAS was conducted round on inspection of some combat equipment recently revamped using the Nigerian Army Electrical Mechanical Engineers Corps repair capability.

COAS FELICITATES WITH TROOPS ON EID-EL-FITR, CHARGES THEM TO REMAIN LOYAL APOLITICAL

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has felicitated with troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) on the occasion of the Eid-El-Fitr Celebration. Presenting his Goodwill message to personnel across all NA formations and units, the COAS specially recognized and appreciated their sacrifices and commitment in various ongoing operations nationwide.

The COAS urged officers and soldiers to leverage on the holy season of Ramadan to reflect on the significance of loyalty, obedience and sacrifice, stressing that the season provides a unique opportunity to re-examine and re-adjust efforts towards fulfilling their constitutional roles, in order to justify the confidence reposed in them by Nigerians. He charged field commanders to redouble their efforts in ongoing operations, adding that the best Sallah gift he expects from them is to eliminate as many bandits, kidnappers and terrorists as possible, and recover as much weapons and ammunition from criminal elements.

Gen Yahaya used the medium to pay special tributes to officers and soldiers who paid the supreme price in the defence of fatherland. He emphasized that under his watch training and welfare of personnel and their families will continue to receive paramount attention. The COAS noted that this informed his resolve to improve on medical facilities and services, while ensuring that treatment of personnel and their families, particularly those who are wounded in action will continue to get support and special vocational training to help them cope with their new health status and overcome associated psychological trauma.

He however, admonished officers and soldiers to remain apolitical and professional in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, as the electioneering period approaches. He urged them to defend the nation's democracy and avoid being lured into politics.

While wishing all Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Fitr, Gen Yahaya expressed gratitude to the President, Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari and all Nigerians for their unflinching support to the Nigerian Army in the execution of its constitutional mandate.

Power & Prestige | NNS KADA In South Africa

Showing the Southies what it actually means to have a Blue Water Navy that can put out to sea, project power to distant lands and achieve national and regional objectives by military diplomacy or force of arms. Not the SAN moribund in port with fancy toys that can't swim. Next on the interim shopping list are Light Frigates, A Flagship and one more LST.

Indeed.

Still, it somehow honours the memory of these soldiers and, in the doing, respects thire families if figures are made public. Then we are made aware the humanity of the soldiers and reassured that the military is one of the better Nigeria institution. There is care and regard implicit in the meticulous recording of the names, age, ranks and so on of these men and women lost in action in the defence of the people of Nigeria. Surly this trumps fear of affecting public moral.

There’s definitely some sympathizers and infiltrators in the ranks as well as command but that’s no excuse to push fraudulents.

It is a fundamental flashpoint between the enlisted and officers. The former wants to win a battle while the latter wants to win the war.
