Did you know that the iPhones that lots of we Nigerian love so much and know to be expensive cost way less than what they are sold for even in Nigerian neighbouring countries talk more of abroad?

Hmm I don't think the difference is as much as you think, maybe 100k or there about especially when you factor in dollar variations.

The price you see most times outside Nigeria is the value of the base versions of these phones, that is lowest price point possible. Which is why most times you see "starting from", the higher versions like let's say 13pro max 512gb or 1TB are more expensive than that base price commonly stated.

First of all, that's not nearly double. Secondly, Google uses official exchange rates. In my experience, rates are always higher than quoted by Google. I know this because I have a Kenyan friend I have to convert quoted sums with but he always tells me it's higher. And I sometimes make payments in other currencies that gets charged in dollars and it always ends up higher than Google quoted. Also, for Nigeria, Google assumes official exchange rates too. The reality is about 160 naira difference between CBN and black market.

Only items approved by CBN and covered get fx at official rate. I have a lot of gadget importers and none of them get the official rate or fx from CBN.

Exchange rate makes the price look higher go to technology mkt and see how much those guys charge per dollars to ship from ebay, some charge at least 500 per dollars , and the funny thing is that it's still cheap compared to the one's you'll get from Nigeria mkt

Nobody uses the official CBN rate, even when you're using nigerian master/visa cards to carry out an international transaction on say ali express or amazon their rates are higher than CBN.

Also the official price of this particular phone Iphone 13pro max 512gb is $1399 if you factor in the exchange rate (let's assume access bank rate 505 not black market 570) and actual shipping fee there's really no big difference in price.
