When I said it in my thread that the rate at which houses are being demolished on the mainland, leaving a huge number of people displaced and exposed to danger on a daily basis is so alarming, some people called me a scammer. Now see..

I'm sure the thought of how to get a place with the high cost of rent is what made them stayed back even after being asked to quit the building.

Normally, the caretaker would have free accommodation considering he is also the landlord's son and for him to go as far as moving out himself possibly verifies this. He wouldn't state an obvious lie with over 20 survivors.

I hope he doesn't lose more. Human lives were lost and surely, a culprit is always sought.

They may still come for him despite his efforts.
At least he would have reported to Government Officials. At that point he will be exonerated.

Why is he so quick to come out with defense most caretaker and landlord in Lagos Island are only concern about the money they collect,.. even the regulatory body are all guity of these act. you gave them notice and you failed to enforce it big lie..if you watch the live converage ,you will notice most of the men interview by punch news are government officials who rush their for cover up.. the guys interview before the caretaker are government official [cbd,lasma]and others...if you stay around island ,you know with money you do anything and go free... the government officials are fantastically corrupt

some of the houses in that area need to be demolish...i once stay in Ondo street, those houses there are used by the white which are old and need to be demolish, but if the govt. intervene, nothing wey we no go hear

It's obvious you don't own a home and have tenant in Nigeria. If your tenants refuse to leave and you go report to the police, you will have to charge them to court at that point, it can take about two years for court to rule for the police to forcefully get them out.
The Nigeria law is not nice to landlords.
Except if you want to call thugs to get them out forcefully which is against the law.

@ bolded They will say it's taking law into one's hands, The guy might be saying the truth, it takes hell to eject tenants in Lagos.

He is completely exonoreted. I'm a first hand witness to this kinda case. The entitlement mentality of Nigerians can be so annoying. They will drag ur property with you like they built it for you
