He claimed his $100,000 prize on Monday and plans to use it "to help his family, take care of his girls, purchase a few necessities and maybe take a vacation," says the lottery.
He's gonna waste that money instead of seeking financial experts advice.

" To help his ""girlfriend"" and three daughters" shocked shocked
That's where I fear the money will be depleted the most on, and sooner than he might expect. Women don't joke with money grin
Maybe plan a vacation.... mtsheww... American problems are definitely not like Nigerian problems.
He didn't mention anything about charity (like 99% of Nigerians would hypocritically mention when being asked) grin
He didn't didn't say anything on investing the money to grow it. Well, let's hope he has that in mind. But tax will drain that money even before he is able to invest it , seeing that he already plans to take care of his girls at home before anything else.
Congrats to the man. It's not easy...
But white folks and having girlfriends even at almost 60 years of age ehnn...so rampant over there. Why not just tie the knot with her and takeoff that gf tag. Their belief systems sha.

The guy is in the top 1% of Americans, despite whatever illusion you have about life in America from Nigeria. 70% of Americans have less than $1000 in their savings account.
If you check billionaires the figure would be closer to 100%

Is having money in a savings account a virtue?

Why would I put money in a savings account when interest rates are 0.5% and inflation is 4.7% ? Is that rational?
That savings account mentality may work in Nigeria but not every where
In the US more important is having good credit than putting money in a savings account and watching the savings eroded by inflation.
You can be very wealthy with ZERO SAVINGs and ZERO balance in your bank account

What matters is credit
