Has anyone here who gave birth in brazil renewed their child's brazil passport in Nigeria. If you have, how did it go?

You will fill the application online and pay the passport money to their Stanbic account. I didn't now how much it cost when I did my daughter's own so I just paid 32,000 but when I got to the embassy I was told it cost 20,050 naira.

You will submit the passport application with the expired passport and 2 passport photographs, along with both parents CRNM, Brazil visa you used to travel for birthing and you both sign the authorization form. Both parents must be present .

They will inform you when the new passport is ready for pick up.

Hi Alex

Sao Paulo is a nice city/state. The cost of living for an individual per month could be between 1250-2000 reais and for a family of 2-5 persons; 2000-5k reais.

It will be difficult to get a job as a tourist, it is even difficult to get a job with residency document if you don't speak Portuguese

Hi Techspot,

Pardon my questions. A lot of these are based on conjecture I have never been to Brazil.

How would You rate Brazil in terms of development: developed, developing or underdeveloped?

How organized a society is Brazil?

Any reason why most of our imports from there are hard drugs? Don’t they have a manufacturing economy?

Does Brazilian residency confer any benefits to the bearer? Easy access to G7 countries?

How organized a society is Brazil? I wouldn't know how to classify this or where to compare with.

Any reason why most of our imports from there are hard drugs? of Don’t they have a manufacturing economy? That's cos Nigerians like fast cash. Almost everything we use here is made in Brazil.

Does Brazilian residency confer any benefits to the bearer? Residency gives access to Mercosul. Easy access to G7 countries? Citizenship gives access to EU and GB, 10yrs visa to US when you apply.

Well said. Also note that for Nigerians, you can extend it for another 90 days at the Polícia Federal office in Brazil. Just make sure that when you go for your renewal, you still appear like a tourist if your baby is not yet born. If they suspect that you have other motives than being a tourist, then they will not extend it for you because your original visa itself is a tourist visa.
What if the babe has been born ? Do you still need it to be extended?
Cheers

Maybe with good travel history, they might give 1-year multiple entries.

I applied on January 10, it was approved on February 4th

You are lucky.. Mine since Feb 20+th. Nothing yet.

Travel should start in 1 and half weeks. No VISA or passport yet. I even need the passport for another VISA application first week of next month.

And might have to pull this one off SAD.

Call them... they have been having a huge backlog of passport to attend to.... so call and explain that you are yet to collect your passport... usually it takes 1week to 2months to get your passport, but due to the high rate of covid cases, they slowed down and only attended to urgent cases and emergency case... Brazil is my favorite country in all the world over.... I'm a Sao Paulo man.... from paulista to Corinthians to braz to republica.... omo na my zone be that... Vivo Brasil.. Deus abençoe o Brasil

To make a decision on your visa and they will send u an email to either come collect your passport or send it through a Dhl or any of the transfer service if you opted for that option...
