I can only imagine what you are going through.

So sorry this happened to you, sending you love and strength from here.

Cheers

ShalewaT:

It is not based on emotion. We have been legally married for over 6 months now and 3 days ago he uploaded a picture of a lady on his status and tagged it "my better half, my mumu..." I asked him who the lady is and he lied that the lady is his cousin, my mum and brother has his number and they saw it too.
They decided to dig deep and found out that he is with another woman in Nigeria and his family members are always in her comments calling her his wife.
Her birthday was two days ago and one of his family member still referred to her as his wife while wishing her a happy birthday. I have told his sister and sent her same picture he uploaded to his status and the sister too said they are cousins.
I have also told his uncle that I know, he said he doesn't have a wife that he knows about bla bla bla.
I also told him today to let's have a conversation about it and he said he doesn't have anything to talk about to me. I've sent the evidence to his dad and I'll be waiting for his own response. This is same husband that chose his cousin in London over me as his next of kin for his NHS.

I wish I can just leave without any legal backing, but I can't cos we got married legally. My mum is so hurt too, let me just stop here cos the matter isn't a short one.

Sorry to hear that.... I heard on radio that no fault divorce was been introduced which is meant to make it cheaper and easier

I don't know the process but you can do a Facebook search. See examples of what came up .Google will definitely have leads

1. Kindly pay attention to Lexusgs430
2. Though you might be able to it DIY, however, in your case you might need a solicitor and a private investigator
3. In law, facts are #critical. Law of evidence will in most likeness be determining factor in the scenario. Hence, documentary evidence will be collaborated with oral. So brace yourself for it.

PS: I always wish divorce don't happen, as I believed in #marriage. However, I've come to know that there are times they are inevitably inevitable.

4. [update] after posting this, I notice @LagosismyHome posting. Kindly explore as well. NB: UK processes ain't exactly as US.

If you do not get heads up by tomorrow. Just type "divorce lawers in UK" on google, call the numbers you see and tell them what you want. If they cannot help you, ask for referrals. Before you call 10 numbers you will get way forward.

But on a second thought, divorce is not something you should do sharp sharp. Take your time, live apart for a number of years if possible so that you are sure of exactly what you are doing.

Thank you

If you're brave enough to do it yourself or reduce certain lawyers steps (saving some £).......

Start by sending a petition to UKBA (ensure you have documented proof/evidence).......

Sorry you’re going through this @ but it’s a good thing you discovered early before things get even more complicated.

I’d say get a lawyer. Don’t try to DIY. Your lawyer will inform UKBA that the partnership/marriage has broken down and they will revoke his dependent visa.

He should go and hustle visa on his own if he plans to remain here.

Pele dear.

No o. The fact that his family member knows he is married or in a committed relationship with someone else is what hurts me most. This is a slap on my face and that of my family.
I am obviously the lady he planned to use to enter the UK before bringing in his real wife. Till now I don't have his mother's phone number cos he won't give me.

Please accept my tightest hugs….this kind of man deserves to be sent back home asap and upon arrival in los airport , thugs need to give him some beatings that would leave him in pain for at least a month.

Please start the divorce immediately, just to ensure he doesn’t get any form of sponsorship.

@ShalewaT, unfortunately you may not be able to get him tttt as it's easier to get a sponsorship visa now. It's tricky but if you speak to a lawyer, they will be able to advise.
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Viruses: 8:21pm On May 08, 2022
This is very painful @ShalewaT.
So sorry you had to go through all these. I know what it is like to be in the wrong marriage. Just get a lawyer in the UK to speak with first. Anyone at all, if he cannot help you he can refer. That man will not see that thing he is looking for since he had ulterior motives going into the marriage. Vey wicked soul.

The younger generation and gold digging men are like 5&6. Sad for women. Getting harder to find real love or marriage that doesn't have a motive. I wish you well ST ,make sure in all of this you protect and take care of your mental health
