It's so riddled with fraud and abuse of power.

I already made copies of passport (data page and back page), printed her payment receipt, application form, appointment slip, guarantor form and stamp it at court, and I intend to get e-verification form as you said over there. She will write the application letter as you have said also. The only thing I plan to go and get for her is the state of origin certificate, which I don't know the cost at Ikeja, court area.

Which center are you capturing?

1. After capturing, you must be given an enrollment slip. Alausa center always right collection date on the enrollment slip you will get after capturing. They will give you back your old passport even before capturing. The old passport is only needed during physical verification of your documents, perhaps, it is your property not theirs.

2. You wife will write application letter with biro on a plain white A4 paper. She will address it to PCO of the NIS center. There's no major format. Just regular formal letter of application. Don't forget that you will need e-verification form. They sell it for N300 at any photocopy shop at Aluasa center. I don't know about other center. For the photocopy of your old passport, you're to do the data page and also last page. You can also buy file strings along in case the verification officer did not have on his/her desk. This will make things easy for you on the capturing date. Get to the center early even if they give you afternoon time for your appointment.

They tell you for 32 pages there's a shortage of booklets, but if you need it urgently you can upgrade to 64 pages and you will get it asap, or the moment you pay for fast tracking your passport of 32 pages materializes. What magically happens to the shortage of booklets?

32 pages booklet is worst ennn because it is a popular demand. Hopefully, you collect soon.

If you're still in Sagamu, just ask the officers at SERVICOM what waiver you can get considering that you are also presenting your NIN (containing your DoB) which will definitely still be verified by them.

Stories of applicants paying so much for nothing extra-ordinary & still being under-served abound on this thread and everywhere.

The whole system is just a cesspit of corruption. It needs massive overhauling.

Getting the Npc birth cert will take not less than a week. And I had to travel all the way down here. I can’t hang around for a whole week for the cert . Is there any way I can get around this without having to wait for that long. I can’t do this journey twice �

See, I don't encourage corruption but the officer telling you that declaration of age is not accepted is a liar.

I will never DIY as long as it pertains to Immigration services in Nigeria.

Only 35K I gave for passport, do you believe their Oga gave me literally is seat to sit on, stood as my guarantor and did send all his boys on errand for me?

So do you see why they don't have enough time to attend to DIY applicants?

Before capturing you would be told to review your information. At that point you can make correction.

Don't worry at all.
It is the information she fill on the verification form at the center that they will use. Let her cancel the BVN number on the application form printed and use biro to write the correct NIN. NIN is the first verification they will check at the center before any other thing.

I got my birth certificate and rescheduled for tomorrow. I’m not leaving this town until I am done with this process

Where did you get the information that everyone below 50 years should have a birth certificate as a mandatory requirement?

Officially it is only mandatory for applicants whose DOB is with effect from December 1992!
