To be fair, Osinbajo should take it upon himself to resign even without being asked. Is it fair for him to be using State apparatus to feather his own nest? ….flying State-owned aircraft all over the place to promote his own personal ambition? Was that part of the bargain when he was being voted as VP? Shame no dey catch the Pastor at all? huh huh
Did you say this to governors going for second term both in your state and others since return to democracy in 1999 till date? From Tinubu to Orji Kalu and others etc.

Fear this people Osibanjo will not resign because he was elected by the mass but Emelife whose tenure is for five years will resign even when the constitution says 30 days to main election...

Did Tinubu resign when he was seeking second term?
Is Sanwo-Olu going to resign because he is seeking second term to ensure a level playing ground?
Something is wrong with BAT supporters.
It will come to that in future. Be on the look-out. Sanity is gradually being restored to NIGERIA.

That sounds like rubbish. Like many have already said, Osinbajo was elected, not appointed.

Taking this to its natural conclusion is that "it would be ethically correct for a first term president to resign from the job if he wants to contest for second term". Likewise a senator. Which is obvious nonsense.

I don't even know who's paying Sowore any attention... did he get up to 1% of the last vote? No.

Those countries have checks and balances in place that will ensure that an elected person does not use his office to his advantage during nomination and elections. We don’t have that in NIGERIA now.
what are you even yapping... Was Biden in office when he defeated Trump... Or was buhari in office when he defeated GEJ who was sitting president 2015 ?

Didn’t you see Orubebe trying his best to disrupt the election because he had the backing of Jonathan? This cannot happen in developed countries because they have checks and balances in place. Otherwise Donald Trump would have turned that last election in his favour. It would have happened if he was in NIGERIA .

Just because the Constitution allows it doesn’t make it right.
When people who still have some degree of inner sensitivity perceive “unfairness“ in any situation, they see it as a moral duty to speak out. This is how Constitutions get changed or amended to give a semblance of equity, fairness and justice in the running of governments in order to create a more balanced and just society.
Why should Presidents and their VPs, Governors and their Deputies, etc, sit in office while contesting for another term with private individuals who do not have similar access to government perquisites at the same time?
If enough people speak out against such unfairness (like Sowore is doing now) the Constitution can be changed to a single term of 5 or 6 years which will remove this kind of absurdity in governance!

Re: Buhari’s Order: Sowore Asks Osinbajo To Resign by MakeMoves: 7:41pm On May 11, 2022
Do Governors resign to contest for Senate? No. That’s because they were elected and not appointed. Same goes for the VP position.

Shey Yele get brain before huh
So if Osinbajo was president and seeking a second term, will Sowore ask him to resign as president so as to allow for a level playing field for all aspirants? Nigerians elected him as vice president!

Then who are those people up there talking about morality? Like really?

It’s not about the legality but the morality. It’s legality correct for him to stay but morally wrong. That’s what we are saying. But Oshinbajo has no moral compass. That’s why he is contesting against his benefactor. The electorates will see that he has demonstrated his moral bankruptcy twice now. That’s enough to nail him. Cannot win the primary.

Lots of them my friend…..check out the following:
Canada
Colombia
Salvador
Guatemala
Honduras
Mexico
Paraguay
Armenia
Israel
Mongolia
Philippines
South Korea
……this list is not exhaustive. There are lots more. In any event, Nigeria should adopt any system of government that suits its own peculiar circumstances regardless of whether it’s done in other parts of the world or not!
