Okpabia knowns that he won't win the APC presidential ticket, but he will use his influence to back one of the Anointed APC & eventually step down for him & thereby getting a juicy position for himself.
Re: Akpabio Resigns As Niger Delta Affairs Minister by MrMcJay(m): 9:24pm On May 11, 2022
Good. No need to consult constituents before resigning.
Ngige said he spoke to angels before picking up the form but now that he's told to resign and contest, he wants to consult his constituents.
He is a rabble rouser without electoral value.

Lol after 8 years as VP, Osinanjo can only go back to his law practise. He's not the only one Nigeria. Let us give others a chance.

1. If you're a Minister and you end up supporting Tinubu, PYO or any candidate at the primaries and not the candidate that the President eventually supports/annoints, then you'll have to resign or be sacked after the primaries anyway. They might as well resign now if they want the freedom to support a candidate of their own choice.

2. It would be embarrassing/shameful for a minister who has bought a form to turn around and say he is withdrawing and would rather sit tight in his ministerial position. That Minister will never be taken seriously in political circles again. That's why I believe Ngige will probably resign. The big one for me is Amaechi. Will he resign.

3. For someone like Akpabio, resignation suggests that he will not support Buhari's candidate at the primaries. He wants his freedom at the primaries. Ultimately, I believe Akpabio is a Tinubu supporter.

Amaechi will be so confused right now. I won't be surprised if he drops his ambition because his only respect in Rivers State is that ministerial appointment he has.

The more reason this man called Buhari is a disaster. How on earth can these set of rogues be ministers for 7.5 years? What have they added to their portfolios/ ministries? Ngige that can’t manage ASUU has sit down put for 7.5 years. Haba. I just can’t wrap my head around it. My one cent is for the youths to vote for the people having asked them what their manifestos are. As a Nigerian, I have not benefited anything from this scam called Nigeria. Please don’t tell me that I am bitter cos I am not. Just sad that I am associated with this fraud.

What makes you think, Buhari won't recall them back after their primaries? If he really meant what he said, by next week Monday he should send names of new nominees to the senate. Buhari is just scared of the court cases that may arise as a result of his ministers not tendering their resignation.

I don't think you're bitter. Many are frustrated with the President. The quality of his cabinet could be a lot better. He has had opportunities to change some of these ministers, but he didn't.

Rumours that Mr Ngige would buy a form was widely reported a few days before he actually did. You would think the Presidency would have called him in and ask what the hell was going through his mind with all the stuff about him planning to contest in the presidential primaries when ASUU saga remains unresolved. Clearly this didn't happen.

I really don't know what goes on in the presidency.

Akpabio use to be a politician I was proud of until he joined one political party that I am afraid to mention its name.
I remember his eight years reign in Akwa Ibom state. His people loved him because of his approach to governance then. Infrastructure and all the rest.
But as a minister of the Niger Delta affairs, he performed below expectation. He Should resign and I hope the next person that will occupy his position will do better.
I see EFCC calling him

Good news.
All the ministers with political ambitions to contesting 2023 election should have respect themselves and resign before this presidential directive.
It's not in our character to resign from political office, unless you are forced to do so.
