2023: Orji Kalu betrayed Igbo cause, says Edwin Clark


Elder statesman and former Federal Information Commissioner, Chief Edwin Clark, has taken a former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, to the cleaners, describing him as a “traitor”.

While accusing him of betraying the Igbo cause, the nonagenarian said that although Kalu was one of the oldest vocal frontline politicians in the South-East, he doubted his sincerity and transparency.

Clark, therefore, called on southeast leaders to “sanction any of their sons or daughters trying to betray them, otherwise, your case will be jeopardized from your home.”

He said it was surprising that Kalu did not only drop his ambition to contest the 2023 presidential election but also declared his support for the presidential ambition of the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, from Yobe State in North East “on puerile and misinformed reasons that only South-East and North-East has not produced civilian Head of State in Nigeria.”

Edwin Clark fails to understand reason on what influenced Kalu’s decision to withdraw from the primaries, in order to support Ahmed Lawan’s ambition.


Kalu argued that a particular region can’t argue the Presidency to come South on the alter of equity and justice, only for that same region to deny the true region in the South which deserves equity and justice.


The SW can’t have Presidency, VP, and Presidency again whereas the North East hasn’t had Presidency.


I think Kalu is being a Statesman for supporting the North East instead of 1 zone to have Presidency twice and VP like they own Nigeria.

Nothing like betraying Igbo here it simply Logic the chances of Igbo man winning with ipob aggregation is slim. Uzor know this that y he decided not to waste is money. Even obi know say the ticket no sure for am.

Uzor is playing smart here support a nothern candidate and position is self for vp slot.
