Alright sir.
Thank you sir
But can I still give them lasota when they are already four weeks?
And does the disease has anything to do with retarded growth?

Yes you can give them at four weeks even more , slow growth can be caused by specie, feeding , diseases and infection , poor management and many other things so it depends

With the current price surge in poultry farming its better to always plan very well before stocking no more experimental stocking

My poults are growing now. I have a total of 15 poults. Like I have said earlier, I bought one carton of noiler and 21 pieces of broiler, I have sold them all last week, I no go lie you I made some profit, no mortality at all.
I raised them on organic, I only buy few bags of feed, I'm happy with what I made, I will buy one carton of broiler on Monday to be raised organically too. Thank you all.

BTW I left two from the noiler, I refused to sell them, they are frizzle feather. Herbalist here buy them at high price ranging from 6k-10k, so I plan to keep them safe and buy one local hen, they will cross it and produce more drizzle feather. One herbalist saw them on Friday and advice me to keep them, because thieves like stealing them since the price is higher, though he begged me to sell them for him I said no.
I will upload the photos of the frizzle noiler
Thank you Oga Noeloge82

Explain the bolded sir.

Ramada Fast is here and prices of broilers are gradually coming down if you plans for 6 weeks brooder and sell as frozen you may have to consider stocking now atleast this reduces the cost of production for now

Heat stroke is real

Open up your brooders

Make sure that their water never dries

Support with Multivitamin

If you can , put shade on the roof to reduce direct sun impact

Make sure to space out your birds

And sign your eyes on your biosecurity

You will smile at the end

COCCIDIOSIS IN CHICKEN

Coccidiosis is a very common and deadly, protozoal disease of chickens caused by a parasite attaching itself to a chicken's intestinal lining. This microscopic organism damages the intestinal tract, preventing the host chicken from absorbing nutrients vital to their survival.

This is Letusfarm page ,please click on the follow button to follow this page so that you will always receive notification on any posts , subscribe to our youtube channel letusfarm for more videos and teaching

Some of the symptoms include bloody diarrhoea, watery diarrhoea, ruffled feathers, huddling, weight loss, depression, paleness, lack of appetite and poor weight gain. Some chickens may show no symptoms whatsoever.

Coccidiosis affects may affect Birds of any age but the severity is noticed by 3 days old and 5 weeks of age .
Most chickens of 14 weeks old are mostly immuned to coccidia but a bird in poor health or under severe stress may succumb at any age.

Avian coccidiosis is hard to eradicate for two reasons, firstly the oocyst wall is environmentally resistant and secondly, the sporulated oocyst can survive for long time in the environment.

Your vet doctor can diagnose coccidiosis by looking for oocysts or protozoan eggs in a bird's faecal sample under a microscope.

The best way to treat coccidiosis is by prevention because it's said that prevention is better than cure and the best way to prevent it is by making sure that your brooders is not and always dry.
Make sure to use disinfectant to wash broader and can periodically spay to kill any pilling amonia compounds .
Incase of treatment it's always good to give birds Anticoccidiosis drugs especially between age 3 and 35 days .
Incase it is suspected ask your vet for available drugs.
Because of the damage on the birds internal organs on postmortem you will notice swollen blood clothed intestines as can be seen on the pics below.

Major cause of coccidiosis ; Coccidiosis is a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract of animals caused by coccidian protozoa.

It could be transmitted from bird to another by contact of infected feaces , ingestion of infected water , feed once a bird is infected it could drop infected oocyst which maybe picked up by healthy birds and they will be infected.
Even farm attendants can mistakenly pick up these infected oocyst and transmit it within or outside the poultry environment

Under optimal condition oocytes may live for many weeks but it can be rapidly killed under high temperatures and drying. At temperatures of 55°C or below freezing, the oocyst may be killed rapidly.
That's why there is higher percentage increase in the spread of coccidiosis during cold season than season

Signs of coccidiosis range from:

Decreased growth rate,
A high percentage of visibly sick birds,
Severe or bloody diarrhoea,
Low feed and water consumption,
Weight loss,
Decreased egg production,
Increased mortality or death.
Anaemia and pale comb.

We have 2 major Classifications of coccidiosis based on their location in chicken they are;

Caecal Coccidiosis
Intestinal coccidiosis

Caecal coccidiosis: Caused by the genus Eimeria tenella. Severe disease characterised by bloody droppings, high mortality, and morbidity, loss of weight gain, and emaciation.
Due to the high level of losses these are considered one of the most harmful species in the chickens with the mortality mostly at the 5th to 6th day following infection

Intestinal coccidiosis: Caused by the Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria brunette, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria mitis, Eimeria mivati, Eimeria praecox, Eimeria nagani and it is characterised by the severe weight loss, high morbidity, and mortality in the flock.

These types mostly occur in older birds with more than 25% mortality in a commercial flock of the chickens.

A chicken can live with coccidiosis for a period of 4-7 days before you can notice the infection .

Due to very high cost of production , when buying DOC no need to buy hatchery name , because most big hatcheries are selling names we have new hatcheries that have very good quality DOC and will always come at a cheaper rate than big hatcheries this is part of reduction in total cost of production

Make sure to do your market survey before stocking because with high cost of feeding and buying DOC if you don't plan and just stock you may end up selling at a loss

So for a 4kg.broiler, you get N4800? Compare it to your cost and make sure you have a 30% profit margin or else no deal.

Depends on target weight and feeding pattern

100 x 3kg weight x 1.6 fcr = 480kg/25
average of 20 bags
Budget between 16 - 24 bags
