Pls i lost my international passport since 2010 which was suppose to expire in 2013. I want to renew it but i read on their portal that i will need my previous international passport ID number which i couldn't remember.

I did the DIY paid and everything, got my guarantor docs stamped in court and i was ready to submit same day,so i got to immigration office at gra junction again to submit,an official stopped me at the gate to check my docs(the hell?) No p,he allowed me in sighting no mistakes,got to the receptionist and he started talking about COMMITMENT fee again,this time 13k. Well,i wasn't going to pay that,so i waited and tried he just advised me to go to their mile 1 branch as no one would take my docs here.

I got to their mile1 branch and i was told to buy a folder and have it arranged, there is a building next door for just that purpose and i paid 1k for that. I went back in but the man receiving DIY applicants was nowhere in sight,i waited more than 1hour for him,and when he finally came in,he asked me who helped me fill my online application and how much i paid. Omor i thought i was speaking to a reasonable person so i told him the truth, then he told me to pay 5k to submit, i said hell no. He told me to step aside,i told him i couldn't he should accept my docs and let me be on my way,dude started being aggressive,so i called him by his full name(as seen on his tag) and he should take my docs,dude got pissed,he thought i was video recording him because i was pressing my phone.

He was scared,he almost broke my phone mehn,it was an uproar in that office,i was pissed man. Dude left his post for a long time, i spoke with other officials if i could get a different person to submit to but they said no,and were just saying i should pay, the hell? 3hours later man,after waiting i was angry,hungry and i didn't think i could be patient anymore,so i called one of the official i previously spoke with that i was ready to pay, he went into their back office and the first officer magically came out i paid the 5k against my principles, they really don't care huh,this system is here to break good people. Now you understand why I'm disappointed? I could have held it a little while longer but i was beginning to sense i had enemies already,so.

If you in ph,man just tread carefully, this dudes don't really hide themselves. They will extort you with pride.

Alright,so i was at gra junction ph yesterday jan27th and just a stone throw away is the immigration office at rumoula there,so i went in to make an actual inquiry about the passport an all and met this official at the gate who showed me to a different man waiting outside, i know alot about DIY but i wanted to just watch him go(blab).

So,he said to procure the passport i had to pay 40k,i was like sir do you know you actually pay online? And he said ya,but when i come back there(immigration office) i will have to pay COMMITMENT FEE 10k,wtf? I guess he was satisfied by the bs,but i wasn't in for it,he wouldn't even let me go in to have a chat with the actual officials.

Please if you've been able to DIY in ph,i may need your guidance.

Sorry you have to go through this harsh reality from NIS. The system is so corrupt that even the God fearing ones among them don't intervene so that they would not be targeted.

Bro, would you advise someone should consider sagamu for DIY?

Having in mind that i may have visa interview in July and my current passport is expiring in September.

The immigration officer i spoke with in Abeokuta said capturing date is in June already and i will pay 45k to collect it after 2 months or thereabouts.. If i need it urgently i will add another 15k then get it in a week or two after capturing.

Anyone should also help if there is any centre that still has a free capturing date for May?

QUICK UPDATE: I finally did my capturing (biometrics) after all the back and forth

Registered last week, submitted yesterday after all their shenanigans. DIY is not easy but it’s definitely worth it!

Collection date is showing 16th May , which is five days from today. How feasible is that

Anyways I’m on my way back to my city. ain’t coming here for at least another four weeks unless I get a call

P.S I stood my ground and didn’t pay shishi to any officer or admin fee. 100% DIY

Next time if you must follow an NIS agent please make sure you ask for these two things.

1. The rank of the person and
2. The department of the person.

These two factors will determine how quick you will get your passport processed.

Hello everyone please I have something disturbing and it goes Like this, years ago when I was trying to get a passport for studies and I applied for an international passport and when it came out we discovered they made a mistake on my date of birth by just 1 year but the month and day was correct, the officer pleaded I use it like that since I was running out of time for my application at the school. Now the passport is expired and I want to renew how possible can I correct the date of birth now. I have my original birth certificate with the correct date, am yet to do NIN so I am confuse on the date of birth to put on my NIN since to obtain a passport you must have NIN.. if it possible to correct the mistake now what should I do, because I don’t want my passport and my school transcripts date of birth to be different.

Please kindly assist me is urgent my interview is Wednesday.what will my guarantor filled on the following attached pictures..

Very stressful
You could have returned that passport the same date of collection and corrected the data free of charge. Once an error is noticed when you come for pickup return immediately to the officer.
The problm with changing DOB on intl passport is not for the faint hearted.
It is something that can be done in the local office but you will be stressed and the amount you will pay plus wickedness you will see is triple.
In 30 states of the nation, the cost of this is 30k for admin fee , once approved 17k for passport which is less than 50k
In lagos, abuja, ogun, enugu, ph it is 56k
But the wicked ppl calling themselves officers will make sure they try to extort nothin less than 100 to 200k from u for this and yet you will still cry to see your passport
Think about this well if this is the option you want to go through

it is obvious you have been scammed if not whts dis.. october till may… nahhh. Call the helpline to get help. How can they not find passport that u captured since. Hurry up and call and bombard on twitter and facebook, thts the only way to reach managmnt. Also you can go lay siege at the CG’s office and you might be lucky to run into him or her
