nigeria during our generation was safe, serene and normal.people had contentment, life was simple, people were not bothered about showing off because everyone was contented and besides they had what you had so why the need to show Off? Those days you can go to the market and you will see traders drop their wares on the roadside or in the market and there won't be people there to attend to customers but the buyers will drop the complete money on the wares, take whatever they purchased and leave.now you cannot do that anymore.both the money and wares will be stolen because people have no godliness in then anymore.

Even the North was one of the most safest and serene places to go.the people were so hospitable, warm, innocent and friendly.they were ready to do things for you for free.they didn't have obsession for money and they were very genuine but this days I don't know where they got their Level of hatred and violence from.the Muslim and Christian abokis lived in perfect harmony.o don't know where they suddenly got their abnormal violence From because they were mainly farmers and hunters and they were ready to give you their tomatoes for free with all happiness.i still have the mental picture of Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara.they were an absolute beauty with lovable abokis.there was never any iota of violence in them and Even the level of poverty and decadence in the North wasn't that much but for some reasons I can't explain the Muslim abokis became so vicious and animalistic.the South East to was perfectly safe.you could go to work and come back without even properly locking your doors or better still droppi your keys with the neighbours or your kids with the neighbours.when kids come back from school they all played in the Third neighbours compound , sometimes they eat, sleep and Bath there while the parents are at home and you could be rest assured your kids were fine.if you try that now,you go collect.
You deviating from the issue . We talking about kids experience and childhood not about society at large .

What am trying to say is that kids still see their growing experience fun as we see ours then.

In next 30yrs from now this present day generation will tell the young ones how these phones and gadgets they use now was fun and epic then.

You simply don't understand what am saying. You only see these things as a problem cos you grown and more matured now . Boys and girls of 13 to 16yrs don't understand anything about Kaduna bombing and shooting . It's not their problems .

Life wasn't as easy as you think even in the 60s cos that was when real massacre was going on . Anini, derico and co wasn't born today . Those were old days problem.

Every generation got it's problem, you only understand them when you grown pass that stage .

For all those born in the 80's...... The last sane generation.
70s,80s and 90s are the generation that saw it all. They saw how the society evolved to this monstrous individualistic one. Back then, the society was a community. Everything was communally done different from what we have today.
This three decades saw a quantum leap in human advancement never recorded in the history of his existence.
The new century, begining from 2000 is a mere modernisation of the advancements of the last three decades of 20th century.

I wish there is a TIME MACHINE that can take me back, I would love to visit those days and dwell in it once more before I finally leave the world.

Nostalgic! You just rolled back the years. I mean, where did you get all these images?
The shift in culture from the natural to the digital has, sadly, created strange and near- automated human beings. We've got strange human beings now. It's as if native intelligence is gone and artificial intelligence has replaced it. This generation of people- kids and young people- behave like robots. You're talking with someone, the next thing he does is he brings out his phone and starts using it, forgetting he's in a convo with someone.
In the song, The Sound of Silence, a line reads: ...people talking without speaking. ..; another one said...the neon gods they've made.
Interestingly, it was the generation of those kids who played in the sand and did crazy things outdoors that "invented" most of the tech products we have today: mobile phones, iphones etc, etc. And, of course the social media platforms.
Yes Sir...smiley , let's save the Earth while we can smiley, little things like not dropping bottle water anywhere because there's always a basket nearby

Rember to smile it helps trust me.

With the population we have in Nigeria sadly A Derico would already be born , could be an earkh teen or a frustrated young adult .... Part of the UGM already ...... Or their factions but let's protect our bubble from the news , because bad news is good news , bad things happen everyday... So why tell me , there's literally nothing I can do about a lynching of a kidnapper in Niger while I'm in PH , it dosn't stop the next kidnapper to get his next victim the next day in Lagos. ...sighs

I seem to be the only one to not see the rot in the world as a generational thing but one that only gets worst overtime due to various factors that led to other things getting better or worst as the case may be... I have seen people in the 70s,80s and 90s done and still doing insane things just as the generation of the 2000s... One thing we always forget again is all this generational stuffs are interwoven like, some late 90s have siblings, cousins, relatives born in the 70s, 80s, early 90s who influenced them either for good or for bad. Same applies to parents, some 80s who should be in their 30s and 40s now have not even parented a child to influence them, yet some 2000s are already mothers and fathers doing a bad job on parenting, same applies to some others born in the 70s and 80s who have children they birthed in the 90s, 2000s and 2010s, and will still birth in the 2020s who are doing and will do a bad or good parenting job as the case may be... Simple case, I had class mates whose parents were either older than mine, younger than mine or same age brackets with my parents and the value we got were different in terms of freedom, religious views, money views, relationships with friends and so many other factors.

In all these complications, is it okay to point out which generation actually faulted, when in actual fact as long as one is alive, he or she actually have an impact in the life of whoever he/she comes across which could be positive or negative not minding the age or generation. Humans evolved overtime especially with the advent of technology.
