TheSuperNerd:And just as it was said.... So it is. ![]() Well deserved Rafael Leao. Lille had Leao and Osimhen at some point. Leao back in 18/19 & Osimhen in 19/20. Leao takes Serie A MVP 21/22 Osimhen takes Serie A U23 MVP 21/22. Champion talents.

TheSuperNerd:Thank you TheSuperNerd for the exposition on some of the stories trailing Awaziem's club career. Awaziem is a defender that i rate ahead of some EPL defenders. Before this story by you i thought Awaziem was just one of those skillful players that are just unlucky, now i know better. Calvin Bassey is in red hot form. He is burgeoning into a very skillful defender, but as things stands, i will pick Awaziem, Balogun and Omeruo ahead of him in central defence, Bassey looks like someone who is open to new ideas. I believe he will improve more with time. |

TheSuperNerd:but he’s not technical nau, he can’t score cullers, he can’t play shot from midfield |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by drDoom3(m): 4:29am On May 23, 2022 |
Meliforme:Balogun is better than Omeruo. Bassey benches Balogun for club. Awaziem is good but a journeyman. I can’t rate him until he becomes relevant in Europe. Similar to Awoniyi pre-Union, abundant talent but needs to settle and prove himself. Bassey starts over all our CBs today. I can’t remember any CB we have had in recent years that is consistently performing at such a high level. |

jihday:Must you be KDB before you win award? He is trying. Personally I think there were more deserving players in terms of impact (Leao, Tonali for instance) but he has done well enough to win the award (and is the best at his club, which is 3rd in the league). Hope he does more next season. Victor is good enough to hit Immobile numbers, hopefully he wins golden boot next season. |

TheSuperNerd:\ Very petty with bad attitude I don't think he is a good team mate. He won't reach his full potential unless he changes. He may just have a balotelli like career |

Overrated manager that has turned EPL to farmers league aka Mancityzenship. Yes he's a checkbook manager tell the rest of the MPL managers to go and beg Pep and collect special checkbook that makes you win league titles, playing attractive and exciting football while breaking records left and right. andrewbaba44:can’t really blame them, they are really traumatized, another mistake and Nigerians will lose it with them. Several reports said the team spent the larger part of half time consoling Uzoho during the Ghana game, Okoye was moody and unhappy till they left camp during Afcon plus Okoye and his family were threatened. They’ll be fine though. |

jihday:Excusing themselves from the team won't really help much... Another better player may come and take their place and that's it... There's nothing we can do about the sentimental nature of football fans when it comes to things like this... Somebody like Karius is still serving the punishment for his blunders against Married 4 years ago... fans don't forgive easily like that.. |

I understand they feel hurt because of the torrents of vile abuse they suffered but they can't avoid playing for Nigeria forever unless they are saying they want to retire. Mistakes and emotional reactions from fans is part and parcel of the game sadly. Beckham messed up in France 1998 The England fans insulted him sotey they even hanged an effigy of him getting hanged. Saka, Rashford and the other guy his name escapes me missed penalties at the Euros last time and we all saw the English fans came for them. As long as the NFF and national team coaches rate them that's all that matters. Use future great performances to shut your critics up. As an aside our fans need to know how to control their emotions better no cursing or wishing death on a player and his family it's not that deep. jihday: |

andrewbaba44:As dey refuse to play you now call them "ekuke". Osimhen and Iheanacho also pulled out too. What will you call them? See, we must learn to be less brutal as a people. Not every player is mentally strong to take a shit load of criticism without counter support from fans as well. Playing for Nigeria is now becoming a scary thing because of over emotional fans without self control. You hardly see fans around the world heavily criticize their own players. The worst thing you'll hear them calling on the coach to bench him. But in Nigeria, we insult our players down to their underwears. With time, players become either non-chalant or might refuse to play entirely. Many of these players are already devastated as a result of mistakes and we add our own on it. I remember the rubbish some prominent people online were typing after our losses to Tunisia and Ghana, because they were angry. These days I get scared for the kind of criticism a Nigerian player will collect if we lose than we actually losing. Look, karma or whatever, doesn't exist. That players pull out doesn't mean that God will find a replacement to punish them. A player can pull out and you'll never see an equal replacement in 30 years. |
