Successful bloggers please i need your help and mentorship.

Blogging can be lucrative, no doubt - if you know what you're doing. Five years ago, if anyone one told me that i would be in the blogging business, i would have laughed. But now i'm working to launch my first ever blog and my goal is to reach an international audience, eventually, with it. I'm going to be blogging in the automobile niche btw.

So my question is: is it wise to want to target an international audience starting out? If yes, how would you advice to do it? If not, how can one make it by targeting only Nigerian markets?

My advice is that you target global audience. Just provide good content that is not specific to Nigeria. It is also possible that some of your posts target global audience and others target Nigerian audience. That is fine too.

Start with AdSense advertising in mind. It will help you to create quality website and content. When you get approved for AdSense, ads placement is very important. Seek help on this if you don't want to go through the learning and waiting time to earn substantially. Great content beats every other thing though.

Also, start with good CMS, good theme, good and original content and good search engine optimization strategy.

If you want to launch and start making money without going through many "learning from mistakes", get someone who has been in the blogging business to mentor you especially on SEO aspect.

Reaching international audience shouldn’t be an agenda , if your content is good enough by default international audience will find it . Just ensure you focus on niche like automobile , health , insurance, cryptocurrency , business . .

Proper keyword research and link-building. Write articles based on searches by the audience you want. You don't write articles and find an audience. You look for what the audience is searching for and produce a better resource than what is available. Of course, this is a slow method.

If you have a good budget, SEM (adwords and co) or Native advertising (Taboola, for instance) can help you get quick audience. This is the fast method.

I want to believe u know exactly what you want to go into because no be beans and dodo.

I think the key here is providing content your audience is looking for. You can join forums, Facebook groups and YouTube to know what type of content ur audience seek and of course to market ur blog
Keyword research is also must and I believe you are grounded in that.

Look for affiliate programs that you can join to monetize your blog

Finally, I will advice u grow balls because u are going to be having sleepless nights with nothing to show but over time, something good will start coming your way.

Don't buy tlds like .ng or .com.ng.

Those are local tlds, they primarily target locals.

Don't host with a Nigerian company. Get a foreign host. I use hostkoala with with bunny CDN and a cache plugin.

Your post should contain information of target country: you wouldn't be talking about cars and mentioning tokunbo, you are telling Google to show your posts to the region asking for tokunbo.

Naturally, a site that was hosted on a foreign server will get tragic from anywhere in the world. You'll stylishly include your main target country in some posts. E.g if you're writing about baby diapers, you can talk about USA quality control for the diapers.
