The Nigeria Football Federation have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze after his omission from the latest England roster announced by the English Football Association on Tuesday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Speculation was rife that the Eagles attacking midfielder was in serious contention to earn his first call-up to the Three Lion after his strong finish to the 2021-2022 season.

And those rumours were fueled when manager Gareth Southgate was spotted at Goodison Park during Crystal Palace's 3-2 loss to Everton on Thursday, May 19.

Eze gave a good account of himself in front of the watching Southgate, setting up the opening goal netted by Jean-Philippe Mateta.

England summer fixtures will see them facing Hungary twice, Germany and Italy across ten days in the UEFA Nations League A group and Eze would have become cap-tied to his country of birth assuming he was invited and given minutes in any of the four matches.

Eze, who was invited to train with the Super Eagles in 2017, played non-binding games for England U20s before becoming provisionally cap-tied to his country of birth at U21 level.

Nigeria Football Federation boss Amaju Pinnick has held discussions with the former Queens Park Rangers dazzler over switching his international allegiance and turning out for the Nigeria national team but the player requested to be given time to make his decision, claiming he wants to focus on his club career.

Why not try ovie ejaria or tosin kehinde.
They are available and we wont have to beg and wait so much.
The bible says
A bird in hand is worth more than two in the bush and a live dog is
better than a dead lion.
Another friendly is comming up and ovie ejaria and tosin kehinde have not been invited.
How long will we wait for eberechi eze. I dont understand

I'm talking about how we insult and demean our own players. Some people are still insulting Yak till today. Look at how much Ighalo took that made him leave the National team for a while.

We're not the most fanatical fans, but we're one of the most toxic and insultive fans. You'll hardly see somewhere in the world where people insult their own team players like Nigeria. South Africa comes second. We take losses too emotionally, spitting BS everywhere.
No we are not. It happens everywhere. Italian media and the fans are still in sifia pains till date after they lost to north Macedonia and they are still hurling barrage of insults on the players. Messi has been subjected to constant criticism and insults in his homeland Argentina. Insults forced higuain into early retirement. Azmun, Iranian top striker retired after the W/C in Russia because of the loads of insults he received(he singlehandedly qualified Iran for the WC , scored 11 goals during the qualifiers)... Dude even said the insults led to the further deterioration of his mother's fragile health..

The English fans racially targeted the blacks after their PK loss to Italy. It goes on and on...Football fans worldwide are generally emotional. It's not only a Nigerian thing.

If the likes of Okoye and uzoho can't handle criticism and insults from aggrieved fans then they shouldn't be in the team .

Balogun is better than Omeruo.

Bassey benches Balogun for club.

Awaziem is good but a journeyman. I can’t rate him until he becomes relevant in Europe. Similar to Awoniyi pre-Union, abundant talent but needs to settle and prove himself.

Bassey starts over all our CBs today. I can’t remember any CB we have had in recent years that is consistently performing at such a high level.
Bassey never benched Balogun for club rather Bassey plays the CB role when Balogun is out due to injury.

Stop peddling false information

Moreover, Omeruo has been far more better Balogun in green white green.

Lol ,look at who is talking about emotions here ,we can already see through you from your epistle

Gundogan is not an AM or even playing there ,no need to use gundogan go make cheap lies ,gundogan plays as a CM or DM but you want him to score many goals as if grealish use to score more than him cheesy

De Bruyne is better than all overrated English midfielders since he step his foot on the epl

Gundogan scored 13 goals last season which was among his first 5 season cheesy cheesy

I am sure you would have said luiz diaz won’t get into Fulham team but look at how the guy is doing so well at Liverpool

Below is some little proof to show you thay gundogan always play as a CM
You are changing the narrativeand even making reference to matter's that have zeros bearing on this particular matter.

Rest up, you talking balderdash.

As dey refuse to play you now call them "ekuke". Osimhen and Iheanacho also pulled out too. What will you call them?

See, we must learn to be less brutal as a people. Not every player is mentally strong to take a shit load of criticism without counter support from fans as well. Playing for Nigeria is now becoming a scary thing because of over emotional fans without self control. You hardly see fans around the world heavily criticize their own players. The worst thing you'll hear them calling on the coach to bench him. But in Nigeria, we insult our players down to their underwears.

With time, players become either non-chalant or might refuse to play entirely. Many of these players are already devastated as a result of mistakes and we add our own on it. I remember the rubbish some prominent people online were typing after our losses to Tunisia and Ghana, because they were angry. These days I get scared for the kind of criticism a Nigerian player will collect if we lose than we actually losing.

Look, karma or whatever, doesn't exist. That players pull out doesn't mean that God will find a replacement to punish them. A player can pull out and you'll never see an equal replacement in 30 years.
Like I said when I first quoted you ,you are just so emotional because of Okoye and nothing else .

Even common sense will tell you that osimhen and iheanacho pulling out is different from Okoye and uzoho .

When it was akpeyi it was normal ,but it’s now Okoye and uzoho we must learn to be less brutal ,did you say anything like this during akpeyi time ? Akpeyi still bounce back and did well at the 2019 afcon and even benched uzoho .

Okoye and uzoho have faced nothing abeg ,it’s not a coincidence that both of them pulled out ,they are busy giving room for others GK from the local league to take their spot.

Nigerians went too far on Okoye for sure ,but majority of you guys are only showing concern because he is your favorite oyinbo boy ,I was here when 90 percent of you guys refuse to defend akpeyi and kept insulting him ,it’s now Okoye turn and you all will try to sugarcoat .

You see why I said you are emotional ,what brought Kama here if I may ask ? Saying it might give other GK to prove them self and make it a blessing in disguise doesn’t Stand close to anything karma .

A player can pull out for sure that you can’t see a replacement in 30 years for sure ,but sorry to say none of those players we have there currently in the eagles .

Just how exactly did you arrive at that conclusion about us being one of the most toxic fan base? Do you frequent football forums of other countries?
Being insultive to players is a norm everywhere..it's part of football..Any player that isn't ready to take criticism isn't ready...

Use Iwobi as a case study...with all the criticism he receive almost every week from Arsenal, Everton and Nigerian fans, it hasn't stopped him from playing football.....

Why didn't he bench him 3 days after the Europa final to play 120 minutes in the Scottish cup final?

The first time I heard this, I went to research and discovered that at that time Balogun was out due to injury and when he came back, he walked into starting 11.

Besides, the coach rotates players.

Why did he bench him at the Europa league finals which is more important ,you should have asked this ?

I haven’t agree with the fact that bassey is benching him yet though
