Thing is... you would always see drivers accepting shitty prices, all in the name of repositioning or because trip is towards their home since they have closed for the day .
Except you are Eyinola wey chop belle full and fresh, that’S when you fit do shakara to those shitty fares and blow empty to home.

Well, I thought you should let whoever that is reading to know more about making that amount.
The reader could say “ah, that one Na moimoi “

Bros as I speak for no one else but me alone. I have said it time without number that a week from 80 to 100k is a good week for me and for the past 4 months I don't think I have relapse on that. But let's put things under assumption here, so we don't pearlifing.

100k on indriver
10% leave us with balance of 90k
Gas 3k per day(18k weekly) leave us with 72k
Remove 50k, we have 22k to play around with for the week

As fate we have it for the past 4 months, car has not come up with any major challenge. And check history you will never see me argue oil with anyone, I use groundnut oil and my engine is 120k. If the engine can service me for 2 years, it is ok for me. My gears is 100k, a year and some months is ok for me. I am at home today, already done 30 something this week. Tomorrow and Friday will do another 30 something. Won't be out on Sat till 12 noon or 3pm self as the spirit lead, but I'll balance both Saturday and Sunday with 30 something as well. Hope this is clear enough. Not adding offlines that may come as they are not constant. Drop mic

Are you certain about the suspension, I can't find any concrete information supporting it. We all know if you ask officials they'll say you should get it. So would like to know for certain. I don't have only Hackney.
When it was in effect you see how they were packing coro here and there, but these days they just see you and turn a blind eye.

Lolz...agreed but note that the price of that car will no longer b 1.1m in 8months. Before u balance with car bought and no loan on ur head again e fit reach 18months on d job. What's now d difference between u and someone that got a HP for 18-24months?

The difference is guarantee.
Only on HP is d ball in ur court. Owner cannot collect car, if u r paying his money.
On rentals owner can collect his car and give his brother or friend at anytime, even if u r paying more and doing repairs and maintainance for him.

I just see HP as a loan u have to and must pay back. But where will u see loan of 2m without them asking for heaven and Earth.

Inside this fight? I dey with yougrin

Can you please tell my friend who wants to join the biz, roughly how many hours a day and how many days a week he has to put in on the average to make 240k a month as income ? He wants to know if nah wetin he fit do or not.

6am to 9pm,
6days weekly
In his first month as newbie he should keep 200k aside to settle for one way
Then another extra money to settle other MOT, lasma and other law enforcement agencies... So give and take no much profit in the first 3months.

It's learning period he must enter way unknowing, not avoidable at all.

No driver can boldly tell me he hasn't pay any money to these guys in the last 2yrs of driving ehailing in Lagos.

Bros this thing you see is glitch or the rider is stupid. On a normal good day from Opebi on indriver that trip is 4k. Remove 10% from 4k and 27% from 4500 naira, let us see the difference. I'll share few of the trips I have done these past days. How bad are the trips? Create a niche and formula that works for you and you will be fine. I no be pearl1910, I talk and do. Even the V.I end at 6500 as rider need to do another thing in Ikoyi, abeg what's the distance from Adeola Odeku to falomo? I don't go to Yaba below 2500 and it must be on a very free road less than 1 hr. We have done both apps before. When they were still fixing third mainland, I've done phase one to Surelere 2700 on Bolt with surge for 3 hours, I want to cry that day.

This one too must be glitch

In 2 years what you will have is 3.360 and still need a month to cover 3.5. I don't understand your 100 weeks. But you and I know it will be hard to see anyone that will spend 3m on car to put it out for 3.5 so give and take the driver is looking at 26 months. Pearl 26 months of driving without default grin it is in the hand of the owner, if you meet the one waiting for you at the receiving end, you will understand better.

Sir, since it is weekly payment
52weeks make one year
2yrs will be 104 weeks
@35k per week u will have 3,640,000 in two years. The balance, if any would have been covered in the down payment.

Owner cannot collect car cos driver defaults just ones. That's not possible.
HP contract normally states
"Contact bridged if driver defaults on two consecutive weeks"
Unless the driver fails to deliver in two consecutive weeks then owner can take the car back.

Driver will deliver weekly baring any force majeure or natural disasters, or anything that will halt the business beyond the control of the driver. Like lock down, sit at home orders, state of emergency or curfews, etc if any of these things happen then owner shouldn't expect driver to still deliver.

So my brother put that fear aside, I have gotten cars on HP and I have given out cars on HP even if na demonic owner, my God is bigger than all devilish and evil power.

So in ur relaxed, flexing and lazy state u still Net 70k weekly on Indriver alone o.
But if I say fulltime and hardworking drivers can Net 100k weekly, it will be misinformation.
Make una no worry, small small all d secrets u guys are keeping will come out in the open. But God will not forgive u guys for constantly discouraging people here while u r making it.

I think there's one they call body tag, you have to paste that on your car. They once arrested a driver who has the tag but didn't paste it, he paid a fine of 20k so I heard. The same amount someone who doesn't have the tag at all would pay so no difference.

No no no all those car tag and driver badge have been abolished.
Its double taxation, why will I get drivers licence, Lasdri and driver tag again
Why will I do road worthiness, hackney permit and still do car badge again.
It was argued and the Governor cancelled those two.
But as for Lasdri and Hackney Permit, u will have to present them, if and if it is established u r doing ehailing. Even these two were paused but u know naija now, corruption and overzealous officers coupled with difficulty to get legal representation.

This is the part I don't understand. Is it not better to sell the car at a loss and preserve the value of the money than leaving it there for years while the value keeps dropping daily

E.g. If I import a car in 2019 for 3m, I'm better off selling it for 2.8m in 2019 than selling it for 3.2m in 2022

You're better off selling it for 2.8m in 2019 self because selling at 3.2m after 3yrs capital has already depreciated by then. The only time you'll make profit is if the asset increase in value and greatly source for after 3yrs, e.g C-class.

Nice post by ghost1994 n donforuntes48

I have said it and will keep saying it, since Indriver came onboard Bolt and Uber became a shadow of themselves.

Indriver is not the kind of competition needed in Nigeria ehailing system.

Mind you comrades, b4 indriver started charging and Uber/Bolt has been having a stiff competition about their price increase... Shebi it was N10/min at some point and Uber was N11/min and N65/km while Uber was N67/km but now its about 70+/km or thereabouts.

Remember when fuel was increased we and one of jpworld 's last comment on this thread was that the partial increment by Uber/Bolt commensarate the increase of pump price from N145 to N165 or thereabouts... I wonder if that guy is still in business now self... I'd really like to know but that's by the way tho.

So indriver is the killer to ehailing business and if Bolt and Uber don't find a strategy to take this guys off I'm afraid the business will die in a matter of years to come, because drivers who are the frontiers are not making any profit anymore it's only a matter of time b4 many drivers start realising this.

How do you expect Bolt/Uber to increase price when another app is ready to take that same trip for far less? Take for instance I was at lekki gardens axis yesterday and I was just looking at prices on Indriver...

Sangotedo to far Int'L Airport, Ayobo, Alagbado where picked for 4, 5k the highest offer I saw was 5.5k and these offers didn't last 5secs and never came back again unlike b4 you'll see them come up againgrin if you don't getrit forget about itgrin

Bolt and Uber as well contributed to indriver gaining ground because how in heaven sake would you block a driver who has completed over 2000 trips in less than 8months and all they can say is cancellation and rating... That's nonsense!!!

This left a lot of drivers with no other choice than jump ship because they've to make ends meet and it tied them to what they call freedom, no completion rate, no cancellation rate, no acceptance rate, nothing.

Even bolanle like better thinggrin

What I think Uber/Bolt should start from to push indriver to the edge is for them to first change their policy of blocking drivers, then unblocked all drivers and give them a bumber bonus to come back onboard, then start introducing surge especially on Mondays, Fridays and week ends. Me I don't belong to the school of thought that it's absence of drivers that make up surge... These things can be manipulated.

Doing this will send a signal to indriver as well to increase their own price to stastoscope.

The most annoying one is the festive period, the other time I said out of about 9trips I completed in December period only 2 where surge and the surge was not even up to 1.9x but pearl1910 argued it's not possible. I just ignored...thank God he's a veteran in the job, can he compare his last December earnings to previous once? The margin will shock anyone.

Indriver is to blame not just the system because Uber/Bolt can't hike price just like that otherwise riders will dump their app and go to a cheaper one where they know even traffic won't change the price
u koooluu down type this one grin meanwhile i don't know why all trips in late nights can't be on surge? Driver working when people were sleeping deserve some compensation, most people taking rides at night becomes a matter of urgency which left them with few choices.

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Dailyparrot: 9:56pm On May 25, 2022
Bolt scammed me of my 2400 bonus today.

A rider booked and I got to her desk and picked her. Less than 5 minutes int the trip, she received a call that her appointment has been canceled.

She then asked me to turn and take her back to where I picked her. Immediately I ended the trip, bolt turned my app offline and never charged the rider.

This means, it rated the trip as "never happened" and dropped my completion and acceptance rate.

My next trip after that was a trip to Yaba from Lekki Phase 2. With all the traffic that made the trip last over 1 hour, 30 minutes, bolt charged the rider 3500. They couldn't believe it but they paid the exact amount and left.

This is the reason I couldn't take more trips to cove for the effect.

Always windup your glasses each time you drive and don't easily give up when they try to stop or arrest you. Escape if you can. Look out for signs and ask questions from your riders especially in areas you're not familiar with.
