You can take the following measures

Put net door in all exit doors of the house

Have a bottle of snipper at home but kerp it out of reach, it kills snake like mad once you spray it in it after sighting it

Clear bushes around your areas especially the next compound with unfinished building around it

Alternatively, get some one to farm on the next plots around your house

Lastly, be observant around the surrounding and keep your children indoors especially when no adult around to watch them play outside

Probably you are yet to fix your ceiling . If you have, check round the house for openings that might allow them to crept in from then block them. Check opened plumbing pipes etc
