Lol. I wouldn’t even fault your thoughts because I grew up thinking same way. But yes, olive oil is used for cooking. It is a healthy alternative for people on special diet.

If you are a religious person, for anointing and miracle.
At home for lubrication while nacking or self-service.

Very well used for cooking, Expecially in intalian cuisine.
We us it as salad dressing, dipping oil, shearing garlic bread. Pickled cheese etc.
Personally I don't like to use it to fry eggs etc. I rather garnish with it.
Very very healthy.

You can use it in pasta or to make pesto. Some fry eggs with it or you can toss it into a Greek salad.

However some men of god bottle it and sell it to gullible members of their congregation as a miracle oil capable of solving their problems
