You will still likely be denied.
Your jumping about various visa types smacks of desperation and japa intentions, even if you wanna switch to b1/b2.....its best you wait upto 18months b4 trying that route.

It’s been up to a year now, April made one year or should I still wait.

Thanks

Urgent guide is needed pls.
I have a wife (not legally married) in the USA. She has visited me in Nigeria . She came last year and she got pregnant. She delivered a baby girl few weeks ago in the usa.
Now, she wants to invite me for 6 months to be able to see my baby and have nice time with them. How do we achieve this?
Does she have to file for me in the usa or send me invitation letter or i apply for visiting visa here in Nigeria?
Thanks for answering my questions.

Well your solution don’t really seem complicated… you claim to marry her.. you sure had proof to show she was your wife if asked during your interview.
Well the same way you arranged evidence or paper work to show you’re married, is the same way you’ll arrange evidence/paperwork to show you’re divorced period! Make it fall into the period you guys were both in naija.
You already lied and it will take a lot of appeal and filing and huge load of stress to fix that cos it’s registered in the system, even your spouse sure travels with the married status which will definitely affect her over there depending on if she’s getting paper via marriage.
You can always renew or apply with additional divorced papers to set yourself free.
P.S Legal adviser will only delay and waste your money
All the best.

When we complain about the sordid state Nigeria is in, I always say we should do better as a people.
You shouldn’t find it convenient to commit fraud or forgery, nor encourage people to do so.
Someone has an issue stemming from earlier fraud, and you want the person to ditch coming clean in and pleading the case legally in place of further forgery?
There is indeed serious problems with Nigeria.

Legally married as you used it is subjective.
It’s either you guys are married or not according to immigration policies.
She can’t apply for a visit visa for you, you have so do so yourself here in Nigeria. And on a visit visa to see your new born and the mom, you will need to show how you’d pay for the 6 months over there and if it won’t affect your job or business back here in Nigeria.
You fit a potential immigrant so expect plenty scrutiny.

Bro,. When you post something on a public forum, do not expect everyone to tell you what you wanna hear. What that poster said was simply her opinion.
It's either you were married to the lady or not. I don't know what the f**k it means when you say not legally married. If you must visit, you do that on your own, there is nothing she can do for you.
Also note that having an American child doesn't do any good to you but the child. It's only when he or she gets to 21 that they can file for you.

I submitted Passport for DropBox May 12th in Abuja, the last update was May 13th ( Application Received)

Till now no change in status on CEAC Page. My Portal on CGI Federal Secure which usually shows Passport is With US Embassy Nolonger shows that. It's now blank. It's been like that since 7 days.

I am confused. I don't even know what's happening. I sent an inquiry to them about the whereabouts of my passport Viz a Viz application and the response was a generic one.

No update via mail on Passport Pick-up. Nothing

Good day everyone, my visa was refused and I have been asked to come for an interview.

I stayed in the US for 6 months straight in 2020 because of covid and the shut down of our airspace.

I want to know if there is anyone in my situation that went back for an interview, what questions were asked and the outcome.

Also I filled that I was single in my form but my wedding took place same week I submitted my passport, I intend telling the VO when I go for my interview

Pls those who have gone for a follow up interview after staying too long due to covid should share their experiences. Thanks

Let me just answer you Sha, because I tried contacting you several times last year to get some clarifications on uk visa application. Although I finally got the UK visa.

Anyways I stayed 6 months and few days in america and i applied for extension. I was not called for interview. Did you apply for extension ? . I don't think its a big deal, just tell them it was out of your control, I do not think it will be used against you.

You should get married and file for a CR1. The chances of you getting a B1/B2 are slim.

You are applying for a B1/B2 - you need to be able to explain your ties to Nigeria - your purpose of travel is important, but not dispositive. Are you married? Do you own property? What is your job? Why is it important that you do that job in Nigeia?

By "Not legally married" i meant that our marriage was not done in the court. She is my wife religiously because we marries according to the Islamic law. That is why she able to visit me and get pregnant.
I just want to visit her and the baby. Is B1/B2 still the best visa option for me? Thanks as you reply

I am sorry I did not see your mails, I responded to a lot of people and I sincerely would have missed out on yours. My apologies

Thank you for your response, yes I applied for extension but I did not follow up on it and I did not bother because I managed to leave the US exactly 6 months after I got in. Ill go for the follow up interview and see how it goes

You can apply for B1/B2 if you are visiting. If she's there on a visa other than B1/B2 then it's kinda fine. And just to add, you guys are legally married so stop confusing yourself. If she's a citizen too she can file for you but if that's not in the picture, you can visit.

Just to add, you can put in for a EA . Attach supporting documents without leaving out the discharge papers as well.

Best of luck

There is no US visa that allows you to come and “have a nice time”, let alone for 6 months. She can always come to see you in Nigeria.

Your best bet is to do interview waiver. Check the trend for the IW link so u can get it. Physical interview is more crazy. November is still far. Don't panic

Quick question, do u intend to marry or just a baby daddy? Does the new born bear your name? Do u plan to relocate with her? If so then she can file for fiance for u. I can't remember the visa type but it's the easiest and fastest if you are staying in the states.
If not, just apply for b1b2 stating you want to go and visit your child. They won't deny you of that. You can even get emergency date. BUT don't say u are staying for 6 months. It's a red flag already. They don't expect a man with good work to accompany his wife for 6 months doing nothing but when u get there, Ur max stay us six months for visiting

In addition, Has your company being deducting tax from your salary that they remit to us govt. If yes, ask them to send the proof. This will be a plus. What is Ur role in the conference, are u presenting or your company is presenting? Is the conference related to your Get something more that makes the conference a must for you to attend.
