This is the mentality that has destroyed the US standing in the world.

Movies had always portrayed the US as the nation that leads in any world crisis.

But we all saw a nation of over indulged spoilt brats who could not bear the tiniest inconvenience in the name of the greater good.

Imagine if independence day the movie had actually happened. Or maybe a ww2 blitz of American. I can see whiny Americans bitching about the tyranny or radio silence. Or the evil of rationing. Of the cruelty of being ordered to switch off all lights at 9pm.

Sweden didn't lockdown and did no worse than many similar countries that did. Nigeria, 3rd world as it is, opened up relatively quickly. Nobody cares about mask mandates. Hell, many people didn't even believe covid was real but we did extremely well. Americans died because they are fat.

I know a family that got it but didn't go to hospital. The kids got better pretty quickly. The father coughed for about two weeks but also got better. I also had a friend who had it and was really sick for like a week before getting better.

I don't personally know anyone (in Nigeria) who died of it despite very few of us taking the jab. Schools resumed and people played fast and lose with mask mandates yet, we are barely over 3k deaths after 3 years in a country of over 150 million people and poor healthcare facilities.

Statistically speaking, it's highly unlikely that you personally know 3 of of the 3,000 people who died of it. I guess the people you know happen to travel a lot, maybe.
