IfnobeGod20:Bolded: Pick his successor. It's only a Banana Republic democracy that an outgoing president chooses his successor. Buhari is taxing the patience of Nigerians too much with his desire to choose a successor who will continue with his program of Islamization and Fulanization of Nigeria. |

Nchenches:Mr. Man, it is a normal convention all over the world for the president to have an input in who succeeds him. Hence, they give him the authority of Right of First Refusal and that has been the practice. OBJ chose his successor and virtually all outcome governors chose their successors. |
| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by Nchenches: 8:32pm On May 31, 2022 |
IfnobeGod20:Mr Man. Repeat after me: it's only in a Banana Republic democracy where an outgoing president or prime minister is able to choose his successor. Nigeria's democracy is Banana Republic democracy because of the skewed and lopsided political structure of Nigeria crafted by northern military dictators to favour Arewa. |

It's Clear and bright that the anointed one is Yemi Osibanjo.......For Osibanjo to have the Audacity to declare his ambition knowingly that Tinubu is coming, I can say that Osibanjo is backed by the Federal Might to succeed Buhari. In my view Osibanjo (SW)/ Lawal (NE) -APC The combination they need to withstand Atiku/ Emmanuel Udom -PDP |

You never picked anything from the speech. Things that call for reasonably positive and objective for discourse. Ethnic hatred and bitterness have beclouded your reasoning faculty. Shame on you. It is very obvious you can't go far in life. I'm afraid, if you don't desist, your children may inherit the same genetic foolishness. Ears have not heard… Eyes have not seen… The kind of breakfast that shall be served on Tinubu and his herds of Urchins. Like Awolowo and Abiola before him, Tinubu will die with a sore in his heart; a sore of unfulfilled ambition, a sore of unfulfilled dream despite his servitude to the north. I pray he doesn’t poo on himself that day ![]() Peeing on himself is already a normal thing. That one na sure banker. No be today something [/quote] |

tunapawizzy:You're right about Yar'Adua. Sometimes it's not about structure but other times it is however. You also have to consider that elections has changed over the years. Who would have thought an incumbent president would lose in 2015? The election that led to Yar'Adua's emergence was rigged. He mentioned it. You can't rig elections that easily these days. Another thing you need to consider is the opponents. If APC drops anyhow candidate as their flag bearer, I assure you that their incumbency will not save them. |

lalasticlala:lalasticlala, Buhari warned the Governors that since the internal machinery in APC allowed Governors to choose their successor the same machinery allows him the right to pick a successor whom they must support...I allow una, una must allow me...it is a resiprocal something.

| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by Invitationn: 9:24pm On May 31, 2022 |
Ojuntana:Not really. You can't compare Onu, Amaechi, Fayemi or even Osinbajo to Tinubu. |
| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by Ojuntana: 9:40pm On May 31, 2022 |
Invitationn:Why not. Tinubu only has stronghold in the SW. Even that SW, it's two states (Lagos and Osun) that are sure bets for him. The rest can swing anywhere |
| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by IfnobeGod20(m): 9:41pm On May 31, 2022 |
Nchenches:I can't help you since you know nothing about what politics entails all over the world. Let me use your words for my description. In a Banana Republic like USA, Barack Obama wanted Hilary Clinton to succeed him and he fought tooth and nail for her. What about that? |
| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by luluosas(m): 10:03pm On May 31, 2022 |
All I see is Osinbajo will become the anointed candidate, though Buhari would have preferred Amaechi |
| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by Invitationn: 10:20pm On May 31, 2022 |
Ojuntana:It's not individuals that win elections but party. Having said that, the individual is also very important. In the last election apart from Oyo state, which other state did Tinubu not win in the south west for Buhari, a northern? Now, he's the aspirant. Who among these other aspirants know any big name in the north who can mobilize delegates to even win the primaries? Yahya Bello? Dimeji Bankole, no? Onu? Amosun? Akpabio? Lawan? For me, It's a no brainer for APC -Tinubu is their man. All these delays and politics are,... you guessed right- a plan to go consensus because they probably don't want him to become president, otherwise, in a fair primaries, he'll win without doubt. |
| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by Ojuntana: 10:24pm On May 31, 2022 |
Invitationn:APC also lost Ondo in the last election. Amosun has contacts in the North too. He's a long-standing ANPP member. You underrate him and Onu in the North because they don't have the media machinery to blow their trumpet like Tinubu. Having said that, Tinubu himself is banking on riding in buhari's popularity in the North to win the election if not, he knows he is no match for atiku. |

Invitationn:The 2015 election was won by APC because Jonathan was betrayed by those he thought were working with him but were working against him. Elections in Nigeria historically are not won by votes, but by rigging. You must rig to win or rig to not be rigged out. Yes. The collation centers is where the rigging takes place but if INEC does electronic transmission from the polling units that will eliminate that route. |

| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by Nchenches: 11:34pm On May 31, 2022 |
IfnobeGod20:Please, don't bring in USA when talk is about Nigeria. Nigeria's democracy is a farce since northern military dictators wrongly used land mass or population figures to create 19 states and Abuja in the old Northern region but created only 17 states in the old two southern regions. They made election law which states that a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 2/3 of 36 states (24 states) before the candidate can be proclaimed winner of Nigeria's presidential election. Even a blind person can see that the way the states were proliferated in the north gives absolute political powers to Fulani-led northern politicians. So you see why Nigeria's democracy is a farce and what gives a President Buhari the huge political power to contemplate choosing his successor; why an Atiku would abandon PDP at will, and return at will to pick up presidential ticket of the party. Restructure Nigeria politically or end the fraudulent country. |

If that’s will save Nigeria from the hands of the alleged master enslaver then you have the support of the international community What Buhari cannot do as President doesn’t exist |
| Re: Address By Buhari At APC Governors' Forum Meeting by IfnobeGod20(m): 2:46am On Jun 01, 2022 |
Nchenches:Oh! You don't want me to factor in USA but you're quick to term Nigeria a Banana Republic where only place that the president chose his successor. But telling you and giving you classical example to silent you, you're now telling me not to mention USA. As if USA is a perfect country. Adding up those rhetoric attached is just from a bitter soul, I will advice you heal yourself and stop being bitter. The president has not done what has not been done before. It's a common practice because a successor without a good successor becomes a failure. Hence, he need to be involve to choose who succeeds him and that is not a big deal. |
