grin Your "We started politics before the SW" got me laughing out loud because we have never seen or experienced the results of that your long years of politicking! I mean, what has been the results? In the last 22 years of return to democracy,a Yoruba man was president for 8 years and another is about to spend 8 years as VP! So,maybe it's not about how long but how well!

The problem with Yorubas is that they thought Nigeria started in this fourth republic.

Colonial era, first republic, second republic and third republic, why not start from there.

Igbos play more sophisticated politics than Yorubas. Buhari won SW with 260k votes while Atiku won only Anambra with 490k votes.

Betraying your neighbor for a pot of ewedu is not sophistication. It is treachery.

When nPDP decamped to APC, we knew it is over for Jonathan. But we rather sink with him than stab him at the back.

We are not traitors.

Ayed44:
Peter Obi is the most foolish Nigerian politician I have seen in the last twenty years. He would have been Atiku's running mate if he had remained in PDP. But he allowed some idiots on social media to over hype him and led him to join Labour party where he cannot even come fourth in the general election.

There would have been the possibility of him becoming the Vice president of Nigeria if Atiku wins, and who knows, he can even miraculously become the president from being VP.

Now he has joined labour party and after loosing the general election, he will run back to PDP and nobody will take him serious anymore. Obi is now permanently a political orphan. He has used his own hands to destroy his promising political career.
You analyze issues like a kid.

Atiku offered him VP, Kwankwanso offered him VP, if he wanted the VP position he won't have declared for president.

He is on a mission to rescue NIGERIA

He joined sdp 1992 and not 98, and apc chairman is from North Central nasarawa state not north east

I will puncture your emotionally driven statements once again.....

You wrote: The problem with Yorubas is that they thought Nigeria started in this fourth republic.Colonial era, first republic, second republic and third republic, why not start from there.

Nahhh! You are wrong Bro! You erroneously reached that conclusion. Those were the golden era of the Yoruba race:
First TV station in Africa
First University in Africa
First Sky-Scrapper in Africa
First Football Stadium in Africa
First Modern Sea-Port in Nigeria
First Professionals in Many Professional endeavours in Nigeria were Yoruba people etc etc etc etc etc etc

This is just to give you some timely reminders. In fact,SW was like a Sports Car in top speed impeded by the contraption called Nigeria which was like a slow moving train

You wrote: Igbos play more sophisticated politics than Yorubas. Buhari won SW with 260k votes while Atiku won only Anambra with 490k votes.

Bro,this only buttresses the sophistication of the Yorubas! We don't put all our eggs in a basket. In fact,in a Yoruba family of five eligible voters, each may decide/choose to vote for separate and different parties and candidates! Bro,it is an advantage. We don't lose entirely, like you people! You have nothing to show for all your decades of support for PdP. See,if PDP wins the presidency, there are prominent Yoruba politicians who will be given prominent political positions.Dwell on this, that is why we don't give block votes like you do.

You wrote: Betraying your neighbor for a pot of ewedu is not sophistication. It is treachery.

See,I will not respond to these emotionally driven paragraphs because It will make me descend to your level. Why is it that one cannot have a decent conversation with you folks? Have I used any insulting words to engage with you?

It's same way your politics is conducted! Peter Obi had to release a statement chastising his supporters for the hatred being spewed online.

Until you guys learn to be strategic, forward thinking, drop that sense of superiority complex etc I'm afraid you will continue to be at the losing end of the gains accruing from the commonwealth!

Yorubas have every reason to turn violent based on the June 12 1993 political treachery but we didn't! It ended with two Yoruba men becoming the presidential candidate of the two major parties in 1999! We did not become emotionally driven like you guys, but you guys don't even see that you are emotionally driven,go read up about what people who can't see beyond their grievances and premordial sentiments become and how they act.

So,I will not insult you using a type of food you consume,I will not label you a traitor not because there aren't adequate adjectives but it will make me do what I'm accusing you off. Do you now see how silly it sounds when you make statements and refering to "ewedu" etc It lowers your pedigree. Sir,you can do better than that

MetaPhysical:
1. PDP Presidential aspirant Peter Obi attended the public announcement and supported Atiku to declare his Presidential ambition.

2. Just few days to PDP primary, aspirant Peter Obi stepped out of PDP Presidential primary and resigned membership.

3. Aspirant Atiku won PDP Presidential primary and was declared party flag bearer.

4. Peter Obi sent a congratulatory letter to Atiku.

5. Aspirant Obi crossed to Labor party. At its presidential primary another aspirant, Pat Utomi stepped down for Obi to win and become Labor party flag bearer.

Atiku has learnt from 2019 not to underestimate APC and its use of incumbent power to sweep opponents away. In particular, APC used cross-party alliance with SDP's Iyiola Omisore to edge Senator Adeleke out of gubernatorial victory in Osun.

SDP, Labor and APGA are strong in South.

Using strengths in Labor (his new party after PDP) and APGA (his old party before PDP), Obi can steer votes to Atiku and run him across the margins of victory should 2019 repeat itself.

Atiku is using one stone to kill two birds -
1. Dilute grass root politics in South so SDP does not become a formidable contender. Infact, SDP introduced Atiku to politics back in 1998.

He is using Obi to throw this kill. Hence Obi's actions lately.

2. Influence APC primary to nominate an underdog candidate.

APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu is from NE, same region with Atiku, and an ex-Chairman of PDP under Goodluck Jonathan, who is being wooed to cross from PDP into APC and enter primary race.

Now, Atiku must choose a Christian South for VP. He could end up calling Peter Obi to deputize for him, but he will not do so ahead of APC primary.

Net-Net, PDP is going for NE muslim/SE christian.

In other words Obi is a tool used by the Fulani northerner to retain power in the north

OFFICIAL336:

SW votes is not a threat to us.

We have the numbers to split SW votes. My polling unit is in Lagos and I'll vote for Peter Obi.

In my part of Lagos, we just elected an Eye Ndi Igbo to help us coordinate Igbos in the area.

The reason we are supporting Atiku and Kwankwanso is because they will piece Northern votes.

If Tinubu chooses a Christian VP, North East and North West will be shared by PDP and NNPP.

Tinubu can't get much votes in SS and SE.

If APC picks Northern candidate which SE APC is pushing for, South and NC will be open for Labour to take.

We calculated our moves before going to Labour party. We started playing politics before SW.

We are not inexperienced like our neighbors that think betraying their neighbor is political sophistication.
Re: Abubakar Atiku & Peter Obi In A Political Plot. by Gbogbowa: 2:47pm On Jun 01, 2022
if obi pick his running mate from middle belt he will win that region plus south east all he need is part of south south and south west which can be lobby for.Apc is in trouble already if they pick Tinubu most yoruba will vote Pdp and if they pick osibanjo tinubu boys will work for atiku so south west is divided and north is also divided,Obi has great chance of winning author=Kyase post=113316857]

Buhari will personally campaign for that person in NW and NE his strongest support base...
The candidate can campaign alone in other region but in those two regions, buhari will be there.

I'm certain you were not expecting what happened at the APC primaries tonight.

Do you now have a good idea of what I/we have been trying to teach you folks?

It is not by emotional vituperations but by strategic and careful planning devoid of sentiments and blackmail. You have just witnessed sophisticated Yoruba Politicking.

Here comes another 8 Years Yoruba Presidency! Do you realise it's going to be another 16 years (If Nigeria remains as presently constituted) before an Igbo man can have another chance at ruling this country? This is due to a complete lack of political sagacity.

My hope is that perhaps your shock and dismay leads to a higher emotional quotient on your part and ultimately to a more constructive politicking from our Eastern brothers so be that maybe in 16 years time one of you maybe you,can rule this country.

I mean well.

Peter Obi does not have the structure to win the Nigeria presidential elections, the presidental elections has to do with spending of monies, which Atiku and Tinubu are ballers in.

If I was sure that by now you would have accepted that the south east is far from sophisticated but is in fact backwards as far as the Nigerian political space is concerned I wouldn't write BUT knowing how much emotion has clouded your political deductions I felt now that with the relative settling of the muddy waters of the Nigerian political space and with the obvious exclusion of aspirants from the south east of Nigeria from both the presidential and vice-presidential position in the two political parties with realistic chances of winning the presidential election,I am sure by now it is clear to YOU that you guys need to go back to the basics! If not,in 16 years time another Yoruba man will take your place.
