The problem with the South-south/Southeastern governors is greed. They are just so full of greed. |

Their ambition to become vice president trumps the interest of the entire region and it's people. I didn't really take them serious through all that zoning drums they were beating and I am glad I didn't.lol One thing with southerners is they are feel they are too enlightened because they can speak big grammar. This was a perfect check mate and the southern governors were the pawns to the last move made by the northerners. You just have to give it to northerners ,they sure do know how to stick together regardless and think of the over all interest of their region but southerners ,errrm not so much, just offer the right price they will give up the entire region for their pockets. A divided south is the reason Nigeria is still held hostage by redundant northerners who currently head all parastals in the country. 1 Like |

Nothing much to learn other than insist on political restructuring of Nigeria away from the present lopsided political structure created by northern military dictators to favour northern politicians. Political overrepresentation of Arewa through the too many states and political constituencies created in Arewa by its military dictators in the old Northern region, is reason why southern politicians are helpless before Arewa politicians. A Nigerian presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states before proclaimed winner. Even a cow from the Arewa can easily win 25% of votes in the 19 states proliferated in the northern region, then scout for 25% of votes in 5 southern states to emerge winner. But no southern presidential candidate can easily win 25% of votes in 24 states, if Arewa is supporting a northern presidential candidate. 1 Like |

The south is not united among themselves the way the north is, therefore the north will continue to rule. That's the bottom line. Most southerners hate each other more than the north. |

onuman: Unity is the key and we don't have it. Without unity you can restructure the government even to the level of family compounds and nothing will still work. |

What just happened at the PDP primary only shows that the SS and Se can't be trusted in the scheme of things as regards politics in Nigeria. Now I know why they will continue to okay the second fiddle role in Nigeria. They are so happy vying for the position of vp rather than the presidential seat . The SW were perfect and never renege in there promises to both wike and Atiku . |

babadee1: Ok, merge more southern states together to result in lesser number of reprentative constituencies in the south; but let north have its 19 states political structure with its present number of representative constituencies; thereafter, see how the unity you crave for south can make a southern presidential candidate win a northern presidential candidate. Some southerners need to be taken under a tree in Sokoto or Kano to let Almijirins teach them lessons on how the political structure of Nigeria determines who wins Nigeria's presidential election. |

Drey1: You don't know anything. Tinubu ruined everything by throwing himself in. He is a muslim and a heavy weight and the PDP had no choice but to throw it's gates open. If tinubu, being a heaviy weight in the APC had been honourable and supported a Christian southerner, like Osinbajo,it would have been a done deal.. So do not blame those southern states much |

The entire south especially the west must do away with this destroyer, tinubu. Again the south must now insist on true federalism and total restructuring to be part of this country 2 Likes 1 Share |

onuman: What political structure are you specifically talking about? Are you suggesting that restructuring is what will make a southern president emerge? Did restructuring produce Obasanjo and GEJ? |
Re: PDP Presidential Primaries: When Will The South Learn? by onuman: 4:50pm On Jun 02, 2022 |
AfonjaConehead: Tinubu campaigned for about 12 years for political restructuring of Nigeria, because he was one of the few southern political leaders then who understood that the way northern soldiers proliferated too many states/representative constituencies and local government councils in the northern region was fraudulent. But in 2014 when opportunity came for political restructuring, Tinubu urinated on the opportunity and joined northern Conservative parties that rejected political restructuring, because he saw a gap to become president under the same political structure he condemned before then. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Yoruba Governors were quick to organize Southern Governors meeting so that they can use it to push for their Yoruba presidential agenda. If truely they are fighting for equity, why not support an Igbo man from the south, since Yoruba have been president for 8years, Vice president for 8years, Senate President for 8years, House of Rep speaker for 4years. 1 Like 1 Share |
