Birth story!!!!

I got pregnant sometime last year, immediately I found out I was pregnant all the symptoms and packages came as per roller coaster, I could not get myself well till January this year, from nausea to food aversions to headache, I was just managing myself. Work became stressful around February Asif devil ready for me, but I just removed my mind from all those annoying things because I believe the journey is worth it. I registered for Antenatal at 12 weeks when I started having some stomach aches that was even making me not to walk upright. I did scan and they said there is fibroid, I assumed it is nothing serious and I prayed and told my baby to kick out anything useless that wants to drag space with him/her and occupy his/her God given space gallantly.
Labour day : Labour started at 1am on the first of June no water breakage or leakage, no mucus plug seen, but I started having back to back cramps at 1:30 am, I managed to bear it till 3:45am and I could not take it anymore, i woke the person with me up and we carried bag to the hospitals after I managed to bath and brush my teeth. I was already in uncontrollable pain while we headed for the hospital.
Arrival to Hospital : we reached the hospital before 5 am I could not even walk well anymore for 20 seconds on my own without help, contractions were extremely close my labour was like that of an angry lion,The nurse mentioned something about me having dry labour or so because the water didn't break till I was fully dilated, at every contraction I felt like peeing or pooping, I will signal my husband and point toilet he will take me there I'll pee and poo and vomit sometimes..I was shouting down the whole environment. The nurse checked me but didn't tell me exactly how many cm dilated I was she would smile and say you are doing well, dilating so fast for a first timer, she helped me emptied my bowel and the real wahala began. Time to push came, I thought it was going to be like other mother's here that will say " at three pushes their babies where out" I pushed and pushed and pushed more than 20 times infact I got weak and the gave me drip to ginger me small, infact it got so bad that if they say push madam I'll start sleeping. The nurses started praying at some point and telling me who do I want to leave my baby for, because I told them I was tired and I don't know what to do anymore. The senior nurse was praying for me all through, half part of my baby's head was outside for like 2 hours I didn't know, they were telling me that your baby is trying pls help this baby I thought they were just lying to encourage me, untill one of the nurses prayed for me and told me to touch the hair on my baby's head for myself so I'll know that the stage I am in now is not a time to give up. Before then I called my pastor and was shouting and panting heavily, he prayed for me till my airtime finished. Immediately I touched the baby's hair I was elated, and one kind of energy from nowhere entered me, the nurses said madam, it is time push this child like there is no tomorrow, I held his hair and made a prayer " God me and this boy have gone to far to end in a way that won't glorify your name, come out of me you this child now now" the nurse gave me a cut ( she politely said madam should I cut you at first o refused letar I agreed, she cut me. That is before I made the prayer o, despite the cut the head still hook) after the prayer I pushed as instructed for like 3 times, the head just came out in full piaaaaaaaa, oh my God I could not believe it, the nurses were almost shouting for joy, they said don't stop madam fire on, na so I fire on o, the baby came out. He was so weak and changing color, he was beaten for a while, he didn't cry for like 3 hours, if they beat him he will shake small and stop, I started praying and calling the tribal name we chose for him, I declared alot of good things for him and I was no longer afraid that anything will happen to him. After like some time he started crying and his voice started coming out till he became cry cry baby for the whole night. They injected him immediately due to the way his body was changing I guess. At some point I wished for CS ( though I didn't say it out) but for some reasons best know to the nurses and doctor that came around they said I was doing very well for a first timer and I don't need CS my ears could not believe what it heard, I just zeroed my mind and said it is either I do it or I do it , no giving up o.
I knew it was not ordinary because immediately we entered the month of may I started having series of bad dreams, different people coming to force me to tell them my EDD in my dreams o, I'll fight with some of them and chase them till they used the face of a very close relative and I mentioned the exact EDD to the person in my dream, I was mad with prayers when I woke up. I delivered at 40 weeks and two days.
God alone be praised because this pregnancy was given to me by God, my husband and I work in different locations and when he's around sometimes I won't be in my fertile period and sometimes even with ovulation test kit I won't see any positive result until the last he came, one week to his arrival I dreamt and my pastor called my name in a dream and said take your baby and I could not collect the baby because my hands were closed in the dream, he said no that is not how to carry you baby open your hands immediately I opened it and he handed a baby over to me, I had faith met him physically and told him he prayed for me and said oya take your baby, hope your husband will come around soon, I await your testimony. Na so e happen o..I pray for all mamas trying to conceive the same God that did it for us all has done it for you Exodus 23:26 said we will not miscarry and no woman will be without a child so you all must carry your babies as God helped me carried mine.

I registered for Antenatal at 12 weeks when I started having some stomach aches that was even making me not to walk upright. I did scan and they said there is fibroid, I assumed it is nothing serious and I prayed and told my baby to kick out anything useless that wants to drag space with him/her and occupy his/her God given space gallantly.
Labour day : Labour started at 1am on the first of June no water breakage or leakage, no mucus plug seen, but I started having back to back cramps at 1:30 am, I managed to bear it till 3:45am and I could not take it anymore, i woke the person with me up and we carried bag to the hospitals after I managed to bath and brush my teeth. I was already in uncontrollable pain while we headed for the hospital.
Arrival to Hospital : we reached the hospital before 5 am I could not even walk well anymore for 20 seconds on my own without help, contractions were extremely close my labour was like that of an angry lion,The nurse mentioned something about me having dry labour or so because the water didn't break till I was fully dilated, at every contraction I felt like peeing or pooping, I will signal my husband and point toilet he will take me there I'll pee and poo and vomit sometimes..I was shouting down the whole environment. The nurse checked me but didn't tell me exactly how many cm dilated I was she would smile and say you are doing well, dilating so fast for a first timer, she helped me emptied my bowel and the real wahala began. Time to push came, I thought it was going to be like other mother's here that will say " at three pushes their babies where out" I pushed and pushed and pushed more than 20 times infact I got weak and the gave me drip to ginger me small, infact it got so bad that if they say push madam I'll start sleeping. The nurses started praying at some point and telling me who do I want to leave my baby for, because I told them I was tired and I don't know what to do anymore. The senior nurse was praying for me all through, half part of my baby's head was outside for like 2 hours I didn't know, they were telling me that your baby is trying pls help this baby I thought they were just lying to encourage me, untill one of the nurses prayed for me and told me to touch the hair on my baby's head for myself so I'll know that the stage I am in now is not a time to give up. Before then I called my pastor and was shouting and panting heavily, he prayed for me till my airtime finished. Immediately I touched the baby's hair I was elated, and one kind of energy from nowhere entered me, the nurses said madam, it is time push this child like there is no tomorrow, I held his hair and made a prayer " God me and this boy have gone to far to end in a way that won't glorify your name, come out of me you this child now now" the nurse gave me a cut ( she politely said madam should I cut you at first o refused letar I agreed, she cut me. That is before I made the prayer o, despite the cut the head still hook) after the prayer I pushed as instructed for like 3 times, the head just came out in full piaaaaaaaa, oh my God I could not believe it, the nurses were almost shouting for joy, they said don't stop madam fire on, na so I fire on o, the baby came out. He was so weak and changing color, he was beaten for a while, he didn't cry for like 3 hours, if they beat him he will shake small and stop, I started praying and calling the tribal name we chose for him, I declared alot of good things for him and I was no longer afraid that anything will happen to him. After like some time he started crying and his voice started coming out till he became cry cry baby for the whole night. They injected him immediately due to the way his body was changing I guess. At some point I wished for CS ( though I didn't say it out) but for some reasons best know to the nurses and doctor that came around they said I was doing very well for a first timer and I don't need CS my ears could not believe what it heard, I just zeroed my mind and said it is either I do it or I do it , no giving up o.
I knew it was not ordinary because immediately we entered the month of may I started having series of bad dreams, different people coming to force me to tell them my EDD in my dreams o, I'll fight with some of them and chase them till they used the face of a very close relative and I mentioned the exact EDD to the person in my dream, I was mad with prayers when I woke up. I delivered at 40 weeks and two days.
God alone be praised because this pregnancy was given to me by God, my husband and I work in different locations and when he's around sometimes I won't be in my fertile period and sometimes even with ovulation test kit I won't see any positive result until the last he came, one week to his arrival I dreamt and my pastor called my name in a dream and said take your baby and I could not collect the baby because my hands were closed in the dream, he said no that is not how to carry you baby open your hands immediately I opened it and he handed a baby over to me, I had faith met him physically and told him he prayed for me and said oya take your baby, hope your husband will come around soon, I await your testimony. Na so e happen o..I pray for all mamas trying to conceive the same God that did it for us all has done it for you Exodus 23:26 said we will not miscarry and no woman will be without a child so you all must carry your babies as God helped me carried mine.

Fast forward to a week after, I had pile (jedijedi) and as a Yoruba girl that I am now I already bought agbo to take and also while carrying out fertility tests, it was discovered I had infection and was also about treating it too but for whatever reason my spirit just kept delaying the treatments.

September came and my feet were always cold couple with afternoon tiredness which would eventually lead to sleep(strange because I rarely sleep in the afternoon except when I'm sick). of course, I used ovulation app so I knew I could test for pregnancy on 14th and 15th but I no gree wait so I did on 14th and it came out positive albeit with the test line faint. I asked my husband because he was brushing in the bathroom if that was a positive and he answered in the affirmative. I wasn't happy because I wasn't sure it was a true or false positive. People of God, between that morning and around 12 I don do like 8 PT tests(I kid you not) and to the glory of God the fainted line became thicker hourly( I called my big sis towerofgrace tired on this matter. God bless her for me) and my joy knew no bound.

I came here to announce it and people were happy for me while welcoming me with grace and kindness and also advised I be the cappo since it seemed I was the only May 2022 mama as at then. I even bragged of not having any package and I was told to wait for it. Omo, I awaited o and sure the full package came(wetin I no experience) but the worst of them all was severe and excruciating stomach pain(started at 6weeks) which after consulting our family doctor was determined to ulcer. Apparently, my pregnancy had resurrected my ulcer which I had not felt in 2 or 3year. When I eat, it would be as if one poured drugs on an open wound and the pain will be unbearable leading to vomiting which will then relieve me then hunger will start again and I'll be scared to eat. We complained to our doctor again and he said the pain would go when I enter second trimester and I was like, this is the 7th week and you're talking about 12 or 13th week? Toor, I Sha carry my cross and was repeating the process everyday with other morning sick which weren't palatable such as food aversion(had this throughout my pregnancy and I'm sure it's responsible for my baby's small weight of 2.9kg), vomiting, nausea, heartburn, weakness, swollen legs(3rd trimester) .

At 5months I was admitted for low blood pressure and low pcv plus malaria and I ended up spending 3 days in the hospital with plenty drips, injections and drugs. On the 3rd day, I was discharged with drugs and was advised to change my diet to lots of veggies, beans and bean products and fruits which I did. Lest I forget, I couldn't take ordinary water throughout because it caused nausea for me eventually leading to vomiting so my people I drank Cold water and sometimes iceblock sef. Excuse me tueh tueh, I did scan every week from week 7 till week 38 because of the ulcer pain to see if my baby was ok.

Fast forward to Monday May 16, I woke up in the morning as usual and went to ease myself only to hear tumm( I knew it was mucus plug) so I used stick to check for it but I didn't see it so I called my nurse who told me I wouldn't see it again because it is transparent and had mixed with the WC water. I quickly told my husband who advised I called my aunt that was to stay with me after delivery and I was like my EDD is 20th don't you think it's too early and he said no. I called her and she said I should give her Tuesday to tidy up things then she'll be on her way on Wednesday. I had already started eating pineapple and dates and also doing exercise climbing one hilly street like that.

That Wednesday was my antenatal day and when my doctor saw me he said madam you still haven't given birth yet( I was 39weeks and 1 day) I said no o doctor that what are we going to do about it that I'm tired and the heaviness down there was something else. He said at that week I was fine but that if I don't give birth before my next appointment then he'll start talking of inducing me. Thankfully, my aunty arrived safely and on Thursday we went to the market to get soup things and my aunty made me walk most of the time saying I should exercise (I called her witch for that and she said she agrees). On getting home we made soup and stew and I even prepared amala for my husband but around 3pm on that same Thursday the 19th I started feeling serious back pain that came and went then I called my husband around 5pm and he said there was traffic that he wasn't sure he'd get home early enough that I should charter Keke since I couldn't drive in that condition but which condition? shey condition wey I never know wetin dey sup wey I baff, use body spray and perfume, rub powder,wear earring,my wedding ring and wear one fine but free gown like that. Sha, they called Keke for me and we negotiated o that was how I went to the hospital. On getting there, I was examined and was determined I was 2cm dilated( to say I was disappointed is an understatement) and that we should go home then come back the following day Friday around 10am if the pain is too much or 6pm in the evening if the pain is bearable. That was how we went back home but before we got to half of the way the pain became stronger and more painful that my husband asked if we should turn back to the hospital and I said no. We got home around 9pm and I slept around 10pm but when I woke up to urinate oh my God! I can't describe the pain I felt and since that time it was pain all through, I think the interval isn't up to 2 minutes apart sef. That was how I will shout ye ye ye o and it would relieve me. Because the pain was unbearable my husband said we should go the hospital(that was around 1:30am) and I said no that I'll manage till 5am and that was exactly what we did. This time around na only gown and wrapper I wear nobody tell me.

I entered the car and my husband and aunt left for the hospital getting there around past 6. Immediately the night nurses(same nurses I saw but yet to finish thier shift) they smiled and admitted me, told my husband to donate blood or pay which he opted for the latter. I was also told by the doctor to do some tests. We went to the lab but unfortunately there was no light and they didn't on the generator but my blood was drawn and labeled for testing. All through this, I was in serious pain( I waited for menstrual cramp as a labor sign but na waist pain I take labor o) and that was how I got tired and went inside ( they don't allow anyone one in the labor or delivery room even the spouse except they need you to get something) and I was examined around 9:30am. I asked the doctor how I was progressing and he said 4cm dilated.

I was on the bed groaning in pain, hitting the bed 3 times( as if that would have solved anything) and also hitting my right buttock(I know wetin sup after getting home) while the nurses and seldomly doctor would check fetal heart rate and also my BP. I guess everything was ok but by 1:30pm when I was examined I had just progressed by 1cm(that is 5cm at this point). I was heartbroken and weak from the shouting and pain. I know after this, I slept but by the time I woke up I saw drip hanging( innocent me didn't know I had been induced) and the pain was he'll as in I would jump from the bed naked to stand or sometimes sit on the potty to pee but will end up peeing on the floor( I chop plenty talk from the nurses for this, shebi those ones are even wicked and inconsiderate always shouting at me). After few hours, a doctor came to examine again and I heard him say if I don't progress much in the next VE he'll book me for CS and I was ready, as a matter of fact I begged them for CS but they told me it was late maybe to encourage me to continue. I also begged them to let me lie on the floor( imagine labor room floor o for you to know the kind of pain I felt)


At about 6pm I guess, rain fell, I was relieved a bit but the heat from inside started immediately the rain stopped and it was back to pain and tiredness. Thankfully, shift ended and the God sent nurses and earthly mothers resumed their shift( I guess 8pm I no know jaree). Around 7:30pm I felt an heaviness on my vajayjay( I knew it was the baby) so I told them I wanted to shit( that's exactly how I said it), they said madam don't shit o cos you're not fully dilated ( would you blame them when that was what they read in the afternoon nurses' report because they refused to examine. later heard they didn't want to be the ones to take delivery so they don't work past their normal time which in actuality was a blessing in disguise for me). After telling them the 3rd time I wanted to shit and they didn't answer me, I started pushing so they didn't have choice than to examine me. The nurse was surprised and said she felt the baby's head. At this point everything was rush rush and they started prepping for my baby's arrival before you could say jack, I have shit o and they put newspaper on the bed, I still shit again and again and again. The nurses said, madam did you bring air freshener which I answered no, they said I'll buy for them I said gladly I will.

Now we are at the last lap of the whole rollercoaster. Madam push na shit dey comot, put your palms on your knees and push but for where? I find my left knee tire my left palm no reach am. Tohh, my God sent nurses said madam you no let oga enter ni that this place is too tight( me wey dey fumble here. By the grace of God, if na rape I go rape my husband for my next belle) I said yes and she gave me a tear and with little push my bundle of joy came out 8:20pm crying at the top of his tiny lungs. I knew the sex from plenty scans done but still I asked them what his sex was( make them no change my baby for me but surprisingly I was the only that gave birth that day in that general hospital). One of the nurses said let us clean him first now which they did and I saw my little Prince still crying o. I wanted to call my husband( I hadn't seen him since I entered the labor room around 9 in the morning) but they said calm down now he'll enter soon enough. They cleaned and weighed my baby and also stitched me( oh my God! we women need to be respected more. The pain was out of this world and I think I shouted more than the labor pain itself. I was given 2 injections and one drug under the tongue like that but they didn't work). I Sha endured the pain o and allowed them do the episiotomy so I can go and rest. Though I didn't eat for almost 24 hours but e be like say na hunger pursue my baby comot because he cried so much for food but milk no comot o.

To the glory of God, both mother and baby were certified ok and fit so we were discharged as early as 6am the following morning. My husband and I tipped the nurses and has even made one our nurse.

This journey has been eventful and interesting and a lot learnt but vigilante no be my mate so I may go ghost mood for a while. At this point everything was rush rush and they started prepping for my baby's arrival before you could say jack, I have shit o and they put newspaper on the bed, I still shit again and again and again. The nurses said, madam did you bring air freshener which I answered no, they said I'll buy for them I said gladly I will.

Now we are at the last lap of the whole rollercoaster. Madam push na shit dey comot, put your palms on your knees and push but for where? I find my left knee tire my left palm no reach am. Tohh, my God sent nurses said madam you no let oga enter ni that this place is too tight( me wey dey fumble here. By the grace of God, if na rape I go rape my husband for my next belle) I said yes and she gave me a tear and with little push my bundle of joy came out 8:20pm crying at the top of his tiny lungs. I knew the sex from plenty scans done but still I asked them what his sex was( make them no change my baby for me but surprisingly I was the only that gave birth that day in that general hospital). One of the nurses said let us clean him first now which they did and I saw my little Prince still crying o. I wanted to call my husband( I hadn't seen him since I entered the labor room around 9 in the morning) but they said calm down now he'll enter soon enough. They cleaned and weighed my baby and also stitched me( oh my God! we women need to be respected more. The pain was out of this world and I think I shouted more than the labor pain itself. I was given 2 injections and one drug under the tongue like that but they didn't work). I Sha endured the pain o and allowed them do the episiotomy so I can go and rest. Though I didn't eat for almost 24 hours but e be like say na hunger pursue my baby comot because he cried so much for food but milk no comot o.

To the glory of God, both mother and baby were certified ok and fit so we were discharged as early as 6am the following morning. My husband and I tipped the nurses and has even made one our nurse.

This journey has been eventful and interesting and a lot learnt but vigilante no be my mate so I may go ghost mood for a while. Birth story!!!!

I got pregnant sometime last year, immediately I found out I was pregnant all the symptoms and packages came as per roller coaster, I could not get myself well till January this year, from nausea to food aversions to headache, I was just managing myself. Work became stressful around February Asif devil ready for me, but I just removed my mind from all those annoying things because I believe the journey is worth it. I registered for Antenatal at 12 weeks when I started having some stomach aches that was even making me not to walk upright. I did scan and they said there is fibroid, I assumed it is nothing serious and I prayed and told my baby to kick out anything useless that wants to drag space with him/her and occupy his/her God given space gallantly.
Labour day : Labour started at 1am on the first of June no water breakage or leakage, no mucus plug seen, but I started having back to back cramps at 1:30 am, I managed to bear it till 3:45am and I could not take it anymore, i woke the person with me up and we carried bag to the hospitals after I managed to bath and brush my teeth. I was already in uncontrollable pain while we headed for the hospital.
Arrival to Hospital : we reached the hospital before 5 am I could not even walk well anymore for 20 seconds on my own without help, contractions were extremely close my labour was like that of an angry lion,The nurse mentioned something about me having dry labour or so because the water didn't break till I was fully dilated, at every contraction I felt like peeing or pooping, I will signal my husband and point toilet he will take me there I'll pee and poo and vomit sometimes..I was shouting down the whole environment. The nurse checked me but didn't tell me exactly how many cm dilated I was she would smile and say you are doing well, dilating so fast for a first timer, she helped me emptied my bowel and the real wahala began. Time to push came, I thought it was going to be like other mother's here that will say " at three pushes their babies where out" I pushed and pushed and pushed more than 20 times infact I got weak and the gave me drip to ginger me small, infact it got so bad that if they say push madam I'll start sleeping. The nurses started praying at some point and telling me who do I want to leave my baby for, because I told them I was tired and I don't know what to do anymore. The senior nurse was praying for me all through, half part of my baby's head was outside for like 2 hours I didn't know, they were telling me that your baby is trying pls help this baby I thought they were just lying to encourage me, untill one of the nurses prayed for me and told me to touch the hair on my baby's head for myself so I'll know that the stage I am in now is not a time to give up. Before then I called my pastor and was shouting and panting heavily, he prayed for me till my airtime finished. Immediately I touched the baby's hair I was elated, and one kind of energy from nowhere entered me, the nurses said madam, it is time push this child like there is no tomorrow, I held his hair and made a prayer " God me and this boy have gone to far to end in a way that won't glorify your name, come out of me you this child now now" the nurse gave me a cut ( she politely said madam should I cut you at first o refused letar I agreed, she cut me. That is before I made the prayer o, despite the cut the head still hook) after the prayer I pushed as instructed for like 3 times, the head just came out in full piaaaaaaaa, oh my God I could not believe it, the nurses were almost shouting for joy, they said don't stop madam fire on, na so I fire on o, the baby came out. He was so weak and changing color, he was beaten for a while, he didn't cry for like 3 hours, if they beat him he will shake small and stop, I started praying and calling the tribal name we chose for him, I declared alot of good things for him and I was no longer afraid that anything will happen to him. After like some time he started crying and his voice started coming out till he became cry cry baby for the whole night. They injected him immediately due to the way his body was changing I guess. At some point I wished for CS ( though I didn't say it out) but for some reasons best know to the nurses and doctor that came around they said I was doing very well for a first timer and I don't need CS my ears could not believe what it heard, I just zeroed my mind and said it is either I do it or I do it , no giving up o.
I knew it was not ordinary because immediately we entered the month of may I started having series of bad dreams, different people coming to force me to tell them my EDD in my dreams o, I'll fight with some of them and chase them till they used the face of a very close relative and I mentioned the exact EDD to the person in my dream, I was mad with prayers when I woke up. I delivered at 40 weeks and two days.
God alone be praised because this pregnancy was given to me by God, my husband and I work in different locations and when he's around sometimes I won't be in my fertile period and sometimes even with ovulation test kit I won't see any positive result until the last he came, one week to his arrival I dreamt and my pastor called my name in a dream and said take your baby and I could not collect the baby because my hands were closed in the dream, he said no that is not how to carry you baby open your hands immediately I opened it and he handed a baby over to me, I had faith met him physically and told him he prayed for me and said oya take your baby, hope your husband will come around soon, I await your testimony. Na so e happen o..I pray for all mamas trying to conceive the same God that did it for us all has done it for you Exodus 23:26 said we will not miscarry and no woman will be without a child so you all must carry your babies as God helped me carried mine.

My LMP was August 17th( my late dad's anniversary) so I didn't really put mind in pregnancy matter even though I had kept track of my ovulation, menstruation and even hormonal imbalance but I remembered to write it down.

Fast forward to a week after, I had pile (jedijedi) and as a Yoruba girl that I am now I already bought agbo to take and also while carrying out fertility tests, it was discovered I had infection and was also about treating it too but for whatever reason my spirit just kept delaying the treatments.

September came and my feet were always cold couple with afternoon tiredness which would eventually lead to sleep(strange because I rarely sleep in the afternoon except when I'm sick). of course, I used ovulation app so I knew I could test for pregnancy on 14th and 15th but I no gree wait so I did on 14th and it came out positive albeit with the test line faint. I asked my husband because he was brushing in the bathroom if that was a positive and he answered in the affirmative. I wasn't happy because I wasn't sure it was a true or false positive. People of God, between that morning and around 12 I don do like 8 PT tests(I kid you not) and to the glory of God the fainted line became thicker hourly( I called my big sis towerofgrace tired on this matter. God bless her for me) and my joy knew no bound.

I came here to announce it and people were happy for me while welcoming me with grace and kindness and also advised I be the cappo since it seemed I was the only May 2022 mama as at then. I even bragged of not having any package and I was told to wait for it. Omo, I awaited o and sure the full package came(wetin I no experience) but the worst of them all was severe and excruciating stomach pain(started at 6weeks) which after consulting our family doctor was determined to ulcer. Apparently, my pregnancy had resurrected my ulcer which I had not felt in 2 or 3year. When I eat, it would be as if one poured drugs on an open wound and the pain will be unbearable leading to vomiting which will then relieve me then hunger will start again and I'll be scared to eat. We complained to our doctor again and he said the pain would go when I enter second trimester and I was like, this is the 7th week and you're talking about 12 or 13th week? Toor, I Sha carry my cross and was repeating the process everyday with other morning sick which weren't palatable such as food aversion(had this throughout my pregnancy and I'm sure it's responsible for my baby's small weight of 2.9kg), vomiting, nausea, heartburn, weakness, swollen legs(3rd trimester) .

At 5months I was admitted for low blood pressure and low pcv plus malaria and I ended up spending 3 days in the hospital with plenty drips, injections and drugs. On the 3rd day, I was discharged with drugs and was advised to change my diet to lots of veggies, beans and bean products and fruits which I did. Lest I forget, I couldn't take ordinary water throughout because it caused nausea for me eventually leading to vomiting so my people I drank Cold water and sometimes iceblock sef. Excuse me tueh tueh, I did scan every week from week 7 till week 38 because of the ulcer pain to see if my baby was ok.

Fast forward to Monday May 16, I woke up in the morning as usual and went to ease myself only to hear tumm( I knew it was mucus plug) so I used stick to check for it but I didn't see it so I called my nurse who told me I wouldn't see it again because it is transparent and had mixed with the WC water. I quickly told my husband who advised I called my aunt that was to stay with me after delivery and I was like my EDD is 20th don't you think it's too early and he said no. I called her and she said I should give her Tuesday to tidy up things then she'll be on her way on Wednesday. I had already started eating pineapple and dates and also doing exercise climbing one hilly street like that.

That Wednesday was my antenatal day and when my doctor saw me he said madam you still haven't given birth yet( I was 39weeks and 1 day) I said no o doctor that what are we going to do about it that I'm tired and the heaviness down there was something else. He said at that week I was fine but that if I don't give birth before my next appointment then he'll start talking of inducing me. Thankfully, my aunty arrived safely and on Thursday we went to the market to get soup things and my aunty made me walk most of the time saying I should exercise (I called her witch for that and she said she agrees). On getting home we made soup and stew and I even prepared amala for my husband but around 3pm on that same Thursday the 19th I started feeling serious back pain that came and went then I called my husband around 5pm and he said there was traffic that he wasn't sure he'd get home early enough that I should charter Keke since I couldn't drive in that condition but which condition? shey condition wey I never know wetin dey sup wey I baff, use body spray and perfume, rub powder,wear earring,my wedding ring and wear one fine but free gown like that. Sha, they called Keke for me and we negotiated o that was how I went to the hospital. On getting there, I was examined and was determined I was 2cm dilated( to say I was disappointed is an understatement) and that we should go home then come back the following day Friday around 10am if the pain is too much or 6pm in the evening if the pain is bearable. That was how we went back home but before we got to half of the way the pain became stronger and more painful that my husband asked if we should turn back to the hospital and I said no. We got home around 9pm and I slept around 10pm but when I woke up to urinate oh my God! I can't describe the pain I felt and since that time it was pain all through, I think the interval isn't up to 2 minutes apart sef. That was how I will shout ye ye ye o and it would relieve me. Because the pain was unbearable my husband said we should go the hospital(that was around 1:30am) and I said no that I'll manage till 5am and that was exactly what we did. This time around na only gown and wrapper I wear nobody tell me.

I entered the car and my husband and aunt left for the hospital getting there around past 6. Immediately the night nurses(same nurses I saw but yet to finish thier shift) they smiled and admitted me, told my husband to donate blood or pay which he opted for the latter. I was also told by the doctor to do some tests. We went to the lab but unfortunately there was no light and they didn't on the generator but my blood was drawn and labeled for testing. All through this, I was in serious pain( I waited for menstrual cramp as a labor sign but na waist pain I take labor o) and that was how I got tired and went inside ( they don't allow anyone one in the labor or delivery room even the spouse except they need you to get something) and I was examined around 9:30am. I asked the doctor how I was progressing and he said 4cm dilated.

I was on the bed groaning in pain, hitting the bed 3 times( as if that would have solved anything) and also hitting my right buttock(I know wetin sup after getting home) while the nurses and seldomly doctor would check fetal heart rate and also my BP. I guess everything was ok but by 1:30pm when I was examined I had just progressed by 1cm(that is 5cm at this point). I was heartbroken and weak from the shouting and pain. I know after this, I slept but by the time I woke up I saw drip hanging( innocent me didn't know I had been induced) and the pain was he'll as in I would jump from the bed naked to stand or sometimes sit on the potty to pee but will end up peeing on the floor( I chop plenty talk from the nurses for this, shebi those ones are even wicked and inconsiderate always shouting at me). JUNE ROLL CALL!

June is finally here!!!! The long awaited June is finally here!! Happy new month everyone. May this month be a month of joy and laughter for all of us ijn.

This journey seemed far, but we kept on pushing, with joy, with tears, with happiness, the day of strength, the day of no strength, finally we are here. Father Lord, we thank you for the journey thus far because it is not by our power nor might that we have come to the month of our supernatural delivery but for your mercy and favor that you have shown us, accept our thanksgiving in Jesus mighty name.

I say a big congratulations to all of us team June, e no easy buy here we are, our testimonies shall be permanent and people shall rejoice with us in Jesus mighty name.
I believe our hospital bags must have been packed and ready in preparation for the arrival of our little ones by now. Please let's also endeavor to put things in other, like finalizing our leave(for both civil and private employees), start exercising for easy delivery and oh yes we can now eat fruits and foods that aids easy birth( like eating pineapple, dates, zobo, drinking ewedu or okra) whether it works or not I don't think there's harm in trying it.

There shall be no loss amongst us ijn, we shall all go into the labor room and come out alive and with our babies alive too IJN, we shall all come back to share our beautiful BA's and BS ijn, none shall be found wanting or missing among us ijn. Our delivery shall be easy, short and painless IJN.

First time mamas like me, please no dulling o, when u see signs of labor, better to go to hospital and get checked and sent back home to come later than to sit at home and be forming pro.

I was on the bed groaning in pain, hitting the bed 3 times( as if that would have solved anything) and also hitting my right buttock(I know wetin sup after getting home) while the nurses and seldomly doctor would check fetal heart rate and also my BP. I guess everything was ok but by 1:30pm when I was examined I had just progressed by 1cm(that is 5cm at this point). I was heartbroken and weak from the shouting and pain. I know after this, I slept but by the time I woke up I saw drip hanging( innocent me didn't know I had been induced) and the pain was he'll as in I would jump from the bed naked to stand or sometimes sit on the potty to pee but will end up peeing on the floor( I chop plenty talk from the nurses for this, shebi those ones are even wicked and inconsiderate always shouting at me). After few hours, a doctor came to examine again and I heard him say if I don't progress much in the next VE he'll book me for CS and I was ready, as a matter of fact I begged them for CS but they told me it was late maybe to encourage me to continue. I also begged them to let me lie on the floor( imagine labor room floor o for you to know the kind of pain I felt)


At about 6pm I guess, rain fell, I was relieved a bit but the heat from inside started immediately the rain stopped and it was back to pain and tiredness. Thankfully, shift ended and the God sent nurses and earthly mothers resumed their shift( I guess 8pm I no know jaree). Around 7:30pm I felt an heaviness on my vajayjay( I knew it was the baby) so I told them I wanted to shit( that's exactly how I said it), they said madam don't shit o cos you're not fully dilated ( would you blame them when that was what they read in the afternoon nurses' report because they refused to examine. later heard they didn't want to be the ones to take delivery so they don't work past their normal time which in actuality was a blessing in disguise for me). After telling them the 3rd time I wanted to shit and they didn't answer me, I started pushing so they didn't have choice than to examine me. The nurse was surprised and said she felt the baby's head. At this point everything was rush rush and they started prepping for my baby's arrival before you could say jack, I have shit o and they put newspaper on the bed, I still shit again and again and again. The nurses said, madam did you bring air freshener which I answered no, they said I'll buy for them I said gladly I will.

Now we are at the last lap of the whole rollercoaster. Madam push na shit dey comot, put your palms on your knees and push but for where? I find my left knee tire my left palm no reach am. Tohh, my God sent nurses said madam you no let oga enter ni that this place is too tight( me wey dey fumble here. By the grace of God, if na rape I go rape my husband for my next belle) I said yes and she gave me a tear and with little push my bundle of joy came out 8:20pm crying at the top of his tiny lungs. I knew the sex from plenty scans done but still I asked them what his sex was( make them no change my baby for me but surprisingly I was the only that gave birth that day in that general hospital). One of the nurses said let us clean him first now which they did and I saw my little Prince still crying o. I wanted to call my husband( I hadn't seen him since I entered the labor room around 9 in the morning) but they said calm down now he'll enter soon enough. They cleaned and weighed my baby and also stitched me( oh my God! we women need to be respected more. The pain was out of this world and I think I shouted more than the labor pain itself. I was given 2 injections and one drug under the tongue like that but they didn't work). I Sha endured the pain o and allowed them do the episiotomy so I can go and rest. Though I didn't eat for almost 24 hours but e be like say na hunger pursue my baby comot because he cried so much for food but milk no comot o.

To the glory of God, both mother and baby were certified ok and fit so we were discharged as early as 6am the following morning. My husband and I tipped the nurses and has even made one our nurse.

This journey has been eventful and interesting and a lot learnt but vigilante no be my mate so I may go ghost mood for a while.
