I don't know why some Yorubas are taking the bait of the treacherous and deceptive OP. At the end of the day the Igbo OP, like most of his kinsmen, is a frustrated lout. Igbos always lie about history shamelessly to appear victims of it. Those of us born after the civil war can certainly see today that Igbo man, in full glare of the world, is the single biggest reason Igbos failed to mount a challenge from one platform, out of only two, that can produce the President of Nigeria. I.e PDP. Without a doubt, we have witnessed , in HD viewing, the validation of the claim that the Igbo man is always the biggest problem of the Igbo man. Over 210 Igbo delegate votes available and Anyim got 17. Lord know how many Igbo votes was greedily sold to Atiku for raw dollars. They have betrayed, backstabbed and destroyed themselves. So far, not even a single prominent Igbo is supporting an Igbo aspirant anywhere. Kalu is licking the ass of Lawan who was entering our lower legislative house when Kalu was being sworn in as Governor in 1999 !!! Thoes reality makes the rant of the deceptive OP even more enjoyable because him and the average Igbo always try to sell the lie that Yorubas stand in the way of Igbos yet we have all seen that it is Igbo man who stands in the way of Igbos. In the PDP we saw how Igbos and Northerners finished Igbos yet OP is here with the usual rant of "its the turn of SE or power remains North". Can we all not see how deceitful that claim is in light of occurrences in the PDP? Did the Igbos in the PDP who betrayed their fellow Igbo not get the memo of PrinceOfOkrika? That natural worthlessness is not enough for the average Igbo to contemplate. They quickly move on to their favourite pastime as losers and vindictive trolls. Igbos, as usual, have messed themselves up. I'd advise Yorubas, some I see losing their cool here, to not get in the gutter with Pigs because the gutter is the Pig's naturally environment and only the Pig will emerge victor there. Ignore the likes of the OP because politics does not hinge on singular events. Igbos have destroyed themselves and are simply looking for Southerners to drag down with them. They already betrayed SS and Wike recently so Yorubas should stop taking their bait. |

PrinceOfLagos:Lazy Ipobian, all the Igbo votes @ the pdp convention combined, multiply it by 15, it still doesn’t come close to what Nyesom Wike from small South South accumulated. Bunch of lazy shameless ipobians, worthless to the political system in Nigeria. President Buhari called you 5% in 2015, today you are about 2.3%. |

QuotaSystem:Arewa support and Buhari support are 2 different things. Tinubu need Buhari's support or neutrality to become APC presidential candidate, while he needs Arewa support to become Nigerian President. Truly, the Buhari presidency had long shown their hand early enough for Tinubu to see the card he would be dealt - a card of betrayal. Hence his focus to continue building his support base across the country and especially in the North. Tinubu was also careful not to hurt the image or threaten the legacy of Buhari and ensured he comported himself quietly even when it was best to speak out. Tinubu has lost significant political capital by choosing to remain quiet over the failings of the Buhari regime, in addition to the capital he already staked to ensure that Buhari won the APC primary against the hawks of the NPDP. Atiku and Saraki, who would have easily defeated Buhari if Tinubu had chosen to betray Buhari at that point after the merger that resulted into APC. What about his Chicago connections that ensured that the Buhari campaign got the tacit support of the Obama led USA government, and the services of the same team that managed the Obama presidential campaign? Remember that Obama was a Chicago resident before his entrance into politics and was Senator representing the Chicago area of illinois state before becoming USA President. Buhari benefited all of these from the magnanimity and loyalty of Tinubu, which was also inspired by the belief that only Buhari could get the needed votes from the North to defeat Jonathan. Buhari should not be an ingrate, and should remain steadfast in keeping the cordial relationship with Tinubu that many had long wished was broken so that they can easily target Buhari. Tinubu has taken too many blows for Buhari and the Buhari regime. He has also taken blows from the Buhari presidency that for reasons best known, became uncomfortable with Tinubu's political prowess once he had secured the presidency for Buhari, only to remember that polical prowess and seek out for it for the benefit of re-election. You cannot deny the fact that no current APC aspirant can defeat Tinubu, so if Buhari would not support Tinubu, let him remain neutral so all candidates can respond the rewards of their input into the party. All the shenanigans by the presidency and party leadership is quite irritating. And Buhari has never provided focused leadership for the APC, such that even the likes of El Rufai equally get irritated by how the President is easily cajoled to support a cause that would be of injury to the party. APC is really making a mockery of the presidential primary, just so as to stop Tinubu that was of help to those in power now. Tinubu has every reason to soro soke and point fingers at those he has served for 15years, growing their different political careers. Do Atiku or Saraki have that type of patience and selflessnes? |

KingKO22:Is too early for you to start saying this now as if you are giving up on BAT. I thought your BAT must win. You guys are now becoming more humble everyday. Such is life. That you get president before the Igbo surely will still not make your poverty stricken generation to be better, so why lamenting. You got it through OBJ, but you guys cried he even favoured the SEners more than the yorubas, which was true. He couldn't even build the most important road: Lagos Ibadan exp for eight good years. Just name two things you guys benefitted from 8 yrs of OBJ in SW. He even frustrated development in SW esp in Lagos by stopping funding. Let's BAT become Obi's Vp. Hahaha. The poor old BAT will go on in the history of Nigeria as the most frustrated politician that ever lived. Just keep rat poison away from him so that history won't repeat itself. |

QuotaSystem:Guy, quit this angle you're pushing. I am sure many respect you here as a Northerner passionate about his region yet fair-minded and always favorably disposed to what is in the best interest of Nigeria. Tinubu never disrespected Arewa or the North as you claim. At worst you can claim he disrespected Buhari but who, even you if your being fair, will not understand that developemtn given the many, many actions of open disrespect and lack of goodwill , towards Tinubu, from PMB? You are acting totally out of character over this issue and I personally think your overreaction stems from the peculiarity of the North whereby leaders can never be criticised, even when blatantly in the wrong, as if they are gods. You must remember that is not the case with the South and that what obtains in your region is not binding on all Nigerians. At worst, this is a spat between Tinubu and Buhari that fair and objective neutral observers can certainly understand from Tinubu's perspective. Even when Buhari sidelined Tinubu after his 2015 win, PMB went back to demand Tinubu head his 2019 election campaign. Tinubu acceded graciously and worked for the win of Buhari and APC. I am now surprised you have gone so far as to be using words such as "disrespectful" against Tinubu. Has Tinubu been 'respected by those you claim he is disrespectful to or is the reality that they have constantly humiliated and dragged him in ways not fitting of his status and contribution to APC? Why also invoke Arewa and your region into what is essentially a dispute between two individuals we all know the root cause of to understand where Tinubu is coming from? Ultimately my friend, on this ocassion you are wrong. You have done what most Nigerians do when push comes to shove. I.e side with their kinsmen because ethnic loyalty has blurred vision to obscure what is very obvious. I am not a liar and won't get into the issue of whether Tinubu disrespected Buhari or not. To me that is to be looked at from the perspective of Buhari's prior actions towards Tinubu and the mindset of the average Nigeria vis a vis a tendency, or lack thereof, to see leaders as infallible gods beyond reproach or reprimand. What I know though is that Tinubu did not disrespect the North or Arewa. Anyone insisting that is just among those wishing to give a dog they hate a bad name to hang it. |

Throwback:The sacrifices and contributions of Tinubu are unquestionable. However he ought to be wise and politically adept enough to air his grievances with tact, especially at this crucial period. Despite Buhari’s shortcomings, he is still highly revered up North and I’d have expected Tinubu of all people to be aware of that fact. The North has been unwavering in its resolve to return Tinubu’s favors and loyalty, but his outburst yesterday is raising many eyebrows up North that might give justification, if PMB successfully sabotages his ambition as he’s rumored to be inclined to (which I’ve never believed anyway).

Buckeyemedia1:Yes because "epistle" is what simpletons call any written material above their level of comprehension. In fact your claim that "the President will choose who he deems fit to succeed him" shows how simple-minded you are. Unless Buhari gets his way with his demand to "choose" his successor, a loose idea we cannot yet fathom the workability of, then Tinubu will still win any open vote, in any public arena in Nigeria, to be the APC candidate for 2023 election. Even if Buhari manages to frustrate Tinubu, he leaves next year. The demanded changes from progressive Nigerians, of which Yorubas cannot be excluded, are inevitable and will still not be denied. I can'texpect that to be obvious to those, like you, always focused on politics of hatred and vendetta when Nigerians are suffering badly today and the country is drifting seriously plus arguably more divided than the period before the civil war !!! If you see what is obvious you will clearly note the danger in Buhari being allowed to singlehandedly choose his successor. I am glad not all Nigerians are blinded by hate and an unassuageable spirit of vindictiveness against others as you, the OP and others like you are. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/buhari-cannot-choose-his-successor/%3famp However, the most important question is: Does President Buhari know who and what is best for post-2023 Nigeria? Eni tò mà dá aso fùn ènìà, to orùn rè lā n kókó wò so says a Yoruba adage. This means that if a man promises to take you shopping for luxury clothes, you must first look at what he has on, the taste of the pudding is in the eating.https://dailytrust.com/imposition-of-successor-president-buharis-faux-pas “The big fear is that combining both legal and moral authority, being our president, if you are to nominate your successor to what extent can other party leaders influence your decision? If party leaders are unable to influence your decision with respect to the choice of successor, what will be the guarantee that your choice can aggregate the expectations of Nigerians? |

QuotaSystem:You claim so but the image below, that you presented, and your previous utterances on this thread, deny that you mean so. Bro, when did "Yorubas vilify the North like this" as claimed below? Any Northerner, knowing fully well Tinubu's ire is directed at Buhari and Buhari alone, who wants to deliberately spin this development to mean Tinubu and Yorubas have 'disrespected' the North and then attendantly concludes Tinubu and Yorubas are now unworthy of the support of the North, is simply a Northern supremacist or born-to-rule proponent looking for any excuse to validate the North's attempt to retain power by any means possible. That in itself sends weighty signals to Yorubas my friend because you are not our gods. Especislly not in a nation we are all supposed to be partners in When you and Northern politicians want to play the ethnic card over a development between two individuals , with Tinubu having a valid case for unjust treatment that led to his talk, then I think we are dealing with the sort of insincerity the entire Nigeria has witnessed from Buhari, over many issues, that an entire suffering nation has refused to broach. Good luck to you and the North.

candidtalk:Nobody is a god and nobody is pretending to be a god. Those were the words of Babachir Lawal and that’s why I followed the screenshot with another one that shot down the kite Lawal was flying (which you interestingly avoided), which is the prevailing sentiment to the best of my knowledge. If Tinubu continues on his tactless trajectory of arrogance and indiscretion, then he plays into the hands of the likes of Babachir Lawal and has only himself to blame for whatever political consequences that might follow. The sentiment expressed below remains valid and Tinubu remains in pole position for the APC ticket.
