Goods increased by almost over 100% within a year, will the government just fold its hand and watch dollar keep increasing after jumping from 360 since 2019. I hope the next government will at least do a policy in the first year that would at least bring the price of goods down a bit.

Cements now over 4k, things that would have cost us 200k in 2020 is now 400k, 500k. I bought a generator for 460k in 2020 but that same generator is now 890k today.

What's happening to the country? We can't really continue like this, something must be done asap or else this country will end up in another civil war due to hunger.

When you said drum, how many liters are you referring to as drum for a lay man like me? IS this @ apply to screeding as well. Mr Chikebrain is very specific in what he saw, 240/sqm for 20l drum.

A drum is 20 litres. I meant he would get a good deal from a product that claims could cover 240 sqm.

Wont be surprised with future civil disobedience due to high cost of living and hardship , things won’t get better quickly or soon is my prognosis , diesel is now 750 at the pump, will be forced to increase petrol soon , it’s inevitable , that might be the catalyst

Who on earth thinks 2023 is going to be better than all these years?

Reality is no Hollywood.

The above is not just in Nigeria, every country is feeling it abeit differently.

The subsidy on pms will be removed soon. Parents needs to keep the number of kids at the minimum, invest in properties & buildings forget about things that depreciate. Scarcity if coming soon. The farmers will be the real kings and queens

Building a house has never been easy. Far back, people would build halfway with intention for their children to complete. We don’t see that anymore. People are even building more houses now. Maybe because we have more population now.
But one thing is certain, houses now are more demanding, with a lot of different additions.

Yeah but it was still relatively an easier venture then. Just early 2020 here my friend completed his decent standard bungalow with less than 10m. Now you can't even get a bungalow completed with 15m

Now if we did a decking of 17 x 17 = 289 square meters with 480 pieces of 12 mm
Therefore your 11 x 9 = 99square meters
Would be 99 x 480 / 289 = 165piece of 12mm.
Then add about 100 pieces of 12mm needed for the beams
So you are looking at 265 lengths of 12mm

The 16mm looks ok because it is for stairway and any cantilever you might have.

Ok sir, I can get you something similar to dulux trade the imported variant but you would be prepared to pay for it even though it would still be very cheap in cost comparison.
Even at that, that would be for one coat which I still doubt the practicality of that.
You will get a good deal from that product as a drum would literally cover 8 standard rooms or 2 units of 2 bedroom flats.

Yes the hidden beams in the decking.

I really wish to paint before fixing my lights and sockets and before installing my PVC floor skirting..

Then I'll require them to wear gloves to do installations.. if it gets dirty, at least Satin paint is cleanable.

I really do not like the unpainted tiny little spaces after tape has been removed.

It could be done either ways.

at what beams are the12mm needed Bru?

The 16mm are for the beams. You don't need 16mm for this staircase and cantilever.

You need details of the beams as well to get the correct quantity of the steel.
