He saved some money from his previous job in Enugu before relocating to Lagos in search of a better job.

Presently, he's thinking of enrolling in a cyber security training and ethical hacking tracking with his savings.

Should he get an apartment first before he gets a job or he waits until he gets a job before he rents an apartment? For now, he's squatting with some people and not really comfortable.

What do you suggest please?

Get an accommodation.

When he gets the job, where will he stay? Since you said he's not that comfortable where he stays presently, getting a place to stay should be of utmost priority. As long as it's not borrowed funds where he will have to be on his feet to pay back, no problem.

Hope he gets the job as well.

Let him get an accommodation at the center of Lagos. Surulere/Fadeyi most preferably. By getting a place in the aforementioned, it doesn't matter where his job is, he will pull through. Even the job is on the Island. You guys don't know what it means to be homeless or stay somewhere uncomfortable. It's why I said that as long as it's not borrowed funds, or his last card, he will pull through.

That being said, he will get a job.

Seriously they don't know. Went through that few years ago when i got admission newly had to leave my guy lodge then and went to the village until i..was able to raise some money and pay for my own lodge.
You can never function well mentally, physically or academically while squating with someone.
Going to your personal place no matter how small and empty or local it's, so far you know no one would scold you or intentionally go out with the key keeping you waiting under the sun for hours.
Mehn op please try to sort your accommodation issue first, so you don't get hooked up in bad vices and addiction that would wreck you financially and mentally. Leave there asap for your mental health.
