Has anyone switched from a Dependant visa to Tier 2 here recently? Did you have to write UKVI ielts for visa application?

English Language requirement is a MUST. I successfully switched from dependant visa to Tier 2 and I used ECCTIS. Other ways of proving your English language can be found on the gov website and IELTS is one of them.

The devaluation is painful ooo.

Please, is there another means you'd advise?

Was looking for how to send to someone (an aboki exchanger) in Nigeria, who would send me Naira, then I can change to Pounds.

Lexusgs430:

Very normal ....... But people that love the convenience/or having trust issues....... Should just keep using ATM's ....... grin

Thanks!

Just got the 3 contract sim. The network is terrible around here, despite checking the signals before the deal.

Was hoping to transfer my old (Lebara) number to them, but with this network ish, I might cancel the deal within the 14 days cancellation window.

What do you advise?

SamReinvented:

I use three. It’s the cheapest of the main networks.

British Airways is saying they do not accept handwritten COVID vaccination certificate (outbound return trip to Nigeria), please what is the alternative to the green vaccination card issued in Nigeria?

Moving house and switching banks do affect credit score, this is from personal experience. It takes at least 6months to get your score back to what it was before those changes

Does the green card not have a barcode?

Scan the barcode, print out the e-cert and hand it to them.

My partner didn’t have to do anything since I’m now the main applicant. For ecctis, you require a degree certificate, transcript and a medium of instruction from your uni that says you were taught in English language. If you can’t provide these things, just do IELTS except maybe you have a UK degree.

You shouldn’t be getting conflicting information because all that you need is clearly stated on the uk government website (skilled worker)

What's been the exchange rate of recent?

This has always been my concern. I eventually used my USD card to withdraw Pounds today, and it was bad.

For context, I withdrew 250 quid, and 357.82 USD was debited from my account. The difference is too much.

The exchange rate was pegged at £1:$1.4088. Access fee was charged at £3.99. Then they added a "Mark Up" fee of 12.8%.

Is this a normal experience with exchanging USD to GBP via a Nigerian issuer?

Nope. Should be about like 1.2 or 1.3. Reason why I kept saying Access Bank
