You just wake up to talk nonsense. Does the trend not show u that the Igbo don't think in the line of tribe. Nepotism and tribalism has been the issue of Nigeria.

If I'm Igbo and I believe my Igbo brother (e.g Rochas) will not be capable to lead, why vote him? Shld I vote him cos he is Igbo.

Look at Peter Obi speeches and mind set. Does he sound tribalistic. It tells u the mindset of a typical Igbo man. Let the best come forward and rule irrespective of tribe.......Look at where Buhari tribalistic tendencies landed Nigeria. Putting dull people in positions just because they are northerns. This is exactly what may happen with Tinubu and Nigeria remains where it is.

Think deep before you talk next time!

You are right and that was why we voted for tofa against abiola in 1993 election.

Your question should rather be: How many competent presidential candidate of the Igbo extraction contested for the APC primaries? Is it Rocha's okoroawusa that messed up imo state in his tenure including betraying his fellow Igbo brothers for his selfish interest which almost tore APC in Imo state apart?
Or who else is a strong contender with a relatively bright portfolio?
Truth is Igbos can not only vote tribe based on sentiment but also on competency and wide outreach, and I can say that only Peter obi Hicks these parameters

There are a lot of brilliant Igbo potential leaders that could have been presented.

The selfishness of the political class and the fear of rebuke by townsmen made these people not stand up.

See Soludo as an example of what the Igbo can do to brilliant minds. Despite Soludo becoming a governor, his main problem has been factional igbos who want to destroy the state at all costs. This behavior conflicts with sanity and human logic.

Someone like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala would have been a great presidential candidate from the south east but will the igbos be united on this? If she tries yo contest, immediately, obstacles from her own people would start showing up.

Even if Peter Obi becomes the president today, would Simon Ekpa and his lunatic zombies not cause him more problems as they are doing to soludo?

For the igbos to leave this cesspit, a complete paradigm shift needs to happen.

You've said it all. No wonder this country is still the way it is. Same reason Hausa/Fulani and yorubas voted Buhari simply because it's in line with their ethnic agenda

And yet they will blame Igbos for being tribalistic

Funny enough there are still countless almajiris in the north and the average Yoruba or Fulani doesn't even have a better quality of life than the average Igbo. So they can keep calling Igbos wailers. At the end of the day some of this ethnic champions no go benefit Shi Shi even when their tribe person be president be president

As an Igbo man God forbid I vote for okorocha or ikpeazu when I can vote for a Yoruba man like osinbanjo or south south like wike or Hausa man like Zulum
But yorubas and Hausas can't say the same. Later na Igbos be tribalist. Same Igbos investing and paying tax in every nook and cranny of this country
Yet they've sworn to ensure an Igbo man doesn't become president even if that Igbo man na Jesus or Muhammed.

Well na everybody go dey bear the brunt of the fuckup.

I don't see those people crying about marginalisation on live television. Look at that idiot Onu shouting justice on TV when even people from his village don't want him. If people from your village don't even want you, why should a major political party risk their ticket on you?

The abnormal state of Nigeria has made all of us not to be able to operate a system where only the best fit the role. Our brains have been mis-educated to reason just like you are reasoning!

Reflect7:

Don't complain of marginalization if you will only consider ''the best'' from your region for the presidency.

The 'best' person rarely emerges from ANY region to win the presidential primaries or presidency in any country.

Was Buhari the 'best' the north had to offer? Nope.

Neither is Tinubu anywhere near the 'best' from the south west.

You MUST be versatile and flexible enough, if circumstances dictate, to push for your '2nd best' and even your '20th best' IF you are serious about grabbing the presidency for your region.

Ipob brain Abeg kip quiet jor. Always typing gibberish

This is not a matter of IPOB brain. In a normal condition/ situation, its only the best that should be selected irrespective of tribe. I have worked with all kinds and tribe of people across Nigeria. The Igbo man is the only business man that does not look at tribe to select workers.....Quote me any where!!!

Until we stop reasoning in the line of tribe and nepotism we will not go anywhere. Have you ever seen a northerner in prominent position in diaspora? It is only in Nigeria that they have power because of tribal sentiment! Go to all the places they hold power from NNPC to federal ministries all deaddddddddddd, nothing functions or progresses with them. Why?? because of tribal attachment.

This 2023 election cycle has EXPOSED the myth of Igbo political marginalisation in Nigeria.

From the PDP primaries, where, out of 100+ south-eastern delegates, only 13 voted for a south-eastern candidate, to the Labour Party, seen heretofore as the last, safe refuge of progressive Igbo candidate and rising political force, Peter Obi, and now torn apart by the rise of three 'factions' each with its own Igbo presidential candidate!

At the APC primaries, the SE had over 200 delegates, yet the SE candidates received less than 50 votes in total.

The problem of the south-east is simply that the egos of their elite are so narrow and personalised as to be unable to comprehend or work for a wider ethnic, much less national interest.

And you know, I keep thinking, it is probably just as well that Igbos are part of Nigeria, because the way I'm seeing them, IF they actually formed a country of their own, it would be worse than Somalia, as there would be so many factions and warlords, with none ever agreeing to concede power to their fellow 'rivals' in the ethnicity.

I totally agree with you.

From the beginning, it was clear that Tinubu was the preferred candidate of the northern governors. Without the party micro zoning to the South east, it will be difficult to get a flag bearer from the Southeast. The South east had one of the least number of delegates in both the pdp and apc primaries. It will be a political miscalculation for delegates from the south east to support a candidate from the south east when there is no support coming from other geopolitical zones.

You guys are funny and laughable. So the result of party primaries is what determines who is marginalised in Nigeria is the APC party primaries?

Common sense is not common
