NASS leadership: Stop Igbo Marginalisation, Youth Parliament Urges APC/Presidency The Igbo Youth Parliament has frowned at events and utterances surrounding the election of principal officers of the incoming ninth National Assembly. The Group particularly criticized the winner-takes-all mentality of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the 95/5% rule must stop forthwith. According to the Youth Parliament, there is the need to maintain balance and give every Nigerian a sense of belonging, especially given the marginalisation the Igbo Nation has suffered in the country. While reminding the Party that every segment of the Country has qualified individuals for national service, the Group expressed its support to the aspiration of Chief (Dr.) Orji Uzor Kalu as one of the next presiding officers of the Senate. The choice of Dr. Kalu, the Youth Parliament noted is due to his versatility, sagacity and detribalized personality. According to the Group, "the new Senator-Elect for Abia North successfully delivered APC in his constituency," querying what extra qualifications were necessary that he does not possess. "For now and except convinced otherwise, the cap fits Orji Uzor Kalu and we so recommend him and will support all his efforts pursuant to becoming Senate President, the Group added. The statement, signed by Comrade Eke Okogbue (President) and Prince Xavier Ikechi (Patron) also threatened to initiate the recall of any legislator from the South East that does not represent its constituents creditably. https://www.abujapress.com/2019/04/nass-leadership-stop-igbo.html?m=1 1 Like 2 Shares

GMB is everything Donald Trumps word. that been said, the igbos penchant for arrogant stupidity lack of tact cries to the high heavens. they cry loudest when the honourable thing to do would be buring their heads in shame but no honour is alien to that part of the world. 67 Likes 9 Shares |

muykem: Funny thing is PDP is not even considering any Igbo person for minority leadership of the Senate and they are not crying about that, it’s APC they’ve stigmatized in the region they are begging for post in NASS I think there is still a dearth of good political strategists in that part of the country 72 Likes 8 Shares |

Igbos want to reap where they didn't sow? Go and fight for position with PDP, minority leader or something. As for principal NASS leaders, NO WAY! you guys put all your eggs in one basket because of hatred and peanut Atiku dangled and you lost out. Your other option is to take all the positions in the BIAFRAN NASS. 34 Likes 4 Shares |

Igbos are the architects of their doom. You can't eat your cake and still have it. Their political orientation is always at divergence with popular political views because there are always blinded by ethnic chauvinism. This agitation is dead on arrival. 27 Likes |

I dey laugh ohh.... I be Igbo man, but this thing dey sweet me for belle. Its good the selfish Igbo APC men are being treated shabbily. Okorocha down. Ouk will have his own taste, if he doesn't keep quiet and observe 'political' table manners. I didn't support APC/Buhari in 2015 and I didn't in 2019, just like so many Igbos. If that will make them marginalize Igbos so be it. At least it will make to reason and know that "Onye ajuru aju, adighi aju onwe ya". Igbos stay woke and learn this lessons being taught by those who think they have powers. 6 Likes 2 Shares |
