An unknown fact to many football fans is that the European Golden Boot is awarded to league top scorers in Europe's top leagues which means Lionel Messi has been stat-padding hard against weak La Liga teams like Eiber, Mallorca, Osasuna and Levante but it still doesn't make him a better goalscorer than Cristiano Ronaldo:

* Yes we know that Messi was a monster in La Liga to win his 6 European Golden Boots but it's Cristiano Ronaldo that has won the most scoring titles in the Champions League - the toughest club competition in European football against the best teams
