The guy you quoted is unaware that politics is law really. He doesn't know why parliamentarians make law. In Westminster system practiced by UK, Canada, NZ, Ireland, Australia, etc, the PM/Head of government is a lawmaker/parliamentarian too. Nobody is better prepared for politics naturally as a lawyer who is used to convincing a highly learned judge with his argument.

A medic is a scientist whose remit and mindset is about diligence and scientific truth. The lawyer can apply falsehood or at least cast doubt on something that is actually true if it serves his client's cause (in criminal and civil cases for example) and that's akin to politics.

When Ibori contested for Governor in 1999, Okowa was among the Grassroots Politicians that Ibori relied on to canvass massive Grassroots votes for him in the Delta North.

There was chaos in the Dynasty and Ibori was contacted and informed about his brother's decision.

Ibori rejected the Outsider while still in Jail in the United kingdom and stated clearly that Okowa must be chosen.

Power Rotation is a Fundamental Agreement in the Ibori Political Dynasty.... IPD.

Power must rotate round the 3 Senatorial districts in the state in the Spirit of Equity, fairness and Inclusiveness for all Deltans.

Ibori is from Delta Central....

Uduaghan (Ibori's Cousin) is from Delta South..

Okowa is from Delta North....

But guess what happened in 2015 while Ibori was still in Jail...

His brother Uduaghan was plotting to return power back to Delta Central and disenfranchise Delta North because Ibori's Kinsmen (UPU) pressured him to support their consensus candidate.

Ibori was informed in Prison and threw his Support behind Okowa. Ibori ignored the cry of his Kinsmen because he insisted that Power must rotate to the North.

Funds was made available and Delegates were literally bought over in the 2015 primaries...

Okowa won with 406 votes, while the Consensus Candidate from Ibori's Kinsmen scored 299 votes.

This year's primaries was all about Delta Central because it is their turn to Produce the next Governor.

The North Central (aka the Middle Belt) is not locked for the PDP Nothern candidate, Atiku Abubakar. The zone remains a deciding factor as well. It is a potential bride that will be courted by all the major candidates. So it shouldn’t be ignored one bit or assumed to be a walkover for Atiku.
Remember these states are Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Plateau and Niger. FCT included as well. The APC will have a good outing in this region.

I think I understand Atiku's choice of choosing Okowa over Wike. Okowa seems to be a very calm Man and the Fact that Okowa Is Igbo and from the south south is one of the factors Atiku thought of when choosing him as his vice. He needs someone who can sell well in the south south and satisfy the ethnic sentimentality of the south east.

The only problem I see with his choice is the ability of Okowa to sell Atiku's candidacy to the grassroots. I don't know much about Okowa credibility in the grassroots but the masses of the the south south and southeast will determine who wins this election. Atiku's Popularity has really nosedived in the south since Obi's departure and he needs a vice president who can revamp his popularity

The North and Southwest are locked zones for the aspirants of the two flag bearers 9f the two major political parties. So the winner of the election would be determined by the south south and the southeast, but Any winner would be win with a very small margin. This election is too competitive
