This is a result of shallow reasoning on the Part of Peter Obi and thats is why i always insist on grilling the man because everything he says shows sign of a shallow minded individual who is only good on paper.

The truth of the matter...
It is not entirely true that the youth of Nigeria are being arrested for possesing laptop.

In the North, you hardly ever hear of such incidents, many northerns own laptops but sars and police never harrass them, even if they are into fraud they are not harrassed because they understand the system of Nigeria more than the Southerners. In the north, a young guy can have N50m but still live humbly and codedly and not attract attention to himself. Have you ever seen a muslim in the north with tatoos, dreads, colored hair, mini skirts, tight gayish jeans? No, very rarely.

In the south, a young guy manage to get 50k gift card, he will do dreads, go clubs, carry prostitutes and all sorts and expect not to draw the attention of law enforcement?
Ok even acousted by the police, you start to argue and claim right, meanwhile you forget that the police has the constitutional right to stop and search you if they have any reasonable suspicion. In Nigeria, if you smoke weed, roll with prostitutes, tatoos and dreads you are already a suspect and because of this stereotyping, even the innocent are affected.
You only get stoppef by law enforcement and indict your yourself if you have;
1. Exhibits in your possesion in which case you must be arrested. Most youths want to be thugs so they roll with hard drugs and illegal stuff in their possesion.
2. Lazy Intellectuals, when you are stopped by the police dont try to film or claim right because they have the right to stop and search on reasonable suspicion, instead you should be polite not aggresive and
Ask them if you under arrest, under what suspicion, request to see supervisor, etc

They arrest people with laptops, do stop and search on people with laptops be of their extravagant lifestyles withou any proof of source of income.
Most fraud case can be traced to nigeria.


So Before Peter Obi start thinking on the surface like when he said he wants to grow coffee, let him realize that there are bigger implications.

This attitude of surface thinking is a trait of one who aims at deceiving the gullible by arousing emotional and sentimental feeling in the hearts of his follower.

they stopped me was at night around 11pm and demanded for receipt of my laptop. i followed them to station, called my brother to go bring receipt from my house. I was out within 30mins.

Op, I think you quite understood what Mr Obi was saying, but you just want to be mischievous in your submission. If I get him right, Obi was only trying to talk about how our society has degenerated to the point that laptop has become a tool of suspicion due to the lack of jobs that have made the youth take to crimes such as yahoo.

I for one never considered Peter Obi as an option in the 2023 election, but you guys are making him more popular and earning the right to be heard.
