One week after a friend of mine migrated to the US in 2013, we were talking on phone and his exact words was "Nigerians are really suffering". Now mind you this was in 2013 before we got into the Buhari nightmare. I read comments of people who were citing how America have a lot of issues ranging from homelessness, to gun violence and racial discrimination. And I just laughed, because all I saw was people who were trying very hard to convince themselves that they didn't get the short end of the stick. There is no place that doesn't have a problem, as long as you're on earth it will never be a bed of roses anywhere not even Finland and Netherlands as some mentioned. But in comparison to Nigeria, America is heaven. Most people don't realize that majority of the homeless people in the US fall into these categories; addicts, people with mental health issues, recently unincacerated with no support system. Yes, there is gun violence being reported every now and again but that number is remotely minute compared to the number of people being killed in Nigeria due to growing insecurity. Racial discrimination to me is no different from the tribal discrimination that is rife even in this forum. There are only few people in Nigeria who get an opportunity to live in the US for 1 month and are offered between remaining in the US and coming back to Nigeria that will choose Nigeria and they are always high class Nigerians and people who have and continue to milk this country dry. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

pansophist:I know both countries very well like the back of my palm, and I can tell you the US is not dying (atleast not in our generation). Lots of Canadians still migrate south in large numbers. You rarely find Americans moving to Canada. Canadians can literally double their wages by moving to the US and tax is lower, cost of housing is lower, groceries are cheaper, gas is cheaper, US dollar is stronger than Canadian dollar, living expenses are cheaper e.t.c even some Canadians with money go to the US for faster healthcare services. Ps: every developed country has homeless people, indebted and depressed and fat population. US is not alone in these aspects. So you think the US is dying becuase of past war policies on Iraq or Afghanistan? 11 Likes |

redcliff: If you think I’m the only one with that mindset. Then you are wrong. Nigerians that choose to stay back with their grown children abroad after they have retired are more than those that come back because they need good medical care in their old age that they cannot get in Nigeria. Also they need their children that will never follow them around them. They won’t come back to Nigeria so they can die of loneliness because at this time, no extended family member would give a damn about them since they no more have money to throw around as they used to. You only know about the returnees. 3 Likes |

pansophist: At the bolded.........That is the only way they can maintain their competitive edge else other countries will keep growing at an alarming rate and not subject to their rules or opinions. Without external wars, the US economy would have gone down. It is what sustains it 2 Likes |

emmaodet: The US don jam their match. I think say dem go fight Russia after invading Ukraine. They bomb only weak countries. A Paper Tiger. If you refuse to improve and grow, others that are doing such will overtake you. You cant run faster by cutting off others' legs, that's the definition of a looser. This decade will be tough for the yankees. Either they improve their country and be an asset to the international economy, or watch how the world is distancing itself away from them and aligning with China/Russia duo. The simple fact that most countries except their EU puppets refuse to sanction Russia but still do business with it, is a loud proof of how the world is sick and tired of the yankees. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

pansophist: Well, you are right but am still have a cold feet for Russia/china with experience with them. From my experience, US may be a devil but I think without them, china/Russia will unleash subjugation we have never experienced before. The US is really the one checkmating them but it is well, let’s see how everything plays out. |

emmaodet: What are your experience? As far as I can see, I don't think they will be worse, judging from their history. Russia has never being and don't want to be a global policeman, same as China. China is a civilisation masked as a country. No where in the history of China has they colonised, enslaved, raped and destroy their neighbours. And I'm talking about a country with at least five thousand years of documented history under its belt. Now I'm asking you, please point one single time China invaded its neighbour for the past five thousand years, just one. I await your answer. Meanwhile, the US is just about 300 years old since its founding, and look at the mess it has caused globally. As for Russia, after the cold War and the disintegration of the Ussr, every war it entered since then was provoked, such as the Georgian and current Ukrainian war. Which else? So why fear them? Your fears are unwarranted. These countries want to be left alone. But the US keep provoking them in a desperate hope to break them into pieces and control them, since they are the challenger to its global hegemony and wet dream to enslave the world permanently. 11 Likes 2 Shares |
