Today at the Supreme Court, there was quiet pandemonium and shock as Chief Michael Omirhobo, a Lawyer, walked into the Supreme Court chambers dressed in traditionalist attire with his lawyer's wig and robe as accessories!
According to reports, when the Learned Lawyer walked into the Supreme Court, the Justices on the bench looked up in shock, looked at themselves, and went on recess without saying anything.
Chief Omirhobo stated in an interview he granted a few minutes later that since the Supreme Court ruled last week that students could wear Hijab to schools in Lagos, that means the Court has given every religion a right to dress the way the believers wish to dress, and that he has decided to dress like a traditionalist/native doctor from now on to court because the Supreme Court has given religious freedom to all religions!
According to the lawyers spoken to about this, there is nothing anyone can do to him based on the Supreme Court's ruling because the SC cannot reverse itself on this without setting a firestorm precedent.

Imagine if all the traditionalist children start wearing their cloaks openly to school. Even teachers will be uneasy.

The nation should just maintain a secular outlook as a standard or else… this!

You should not discriminate people in places of learning. That hijab is a symbol of the Muslim girl, from her birth up till when she enrolled in school she adorn that hijab everywhere she goes in the public.

If you deny her that hijab in school, will you also deny her the hijab right on the street? If you can tolerate her wearing the hijab on the street, then why can't you tolerate her having that in school.

The issue here is that those opposing hijab have no reason for doing that, they are just doing that out of chronic religious bigotry.

Supreme Court committed a grave error in their judgment. They should have said everyone should follow dressing code of his/her organisation simple. If your school allows it, so be it.

There is difference between hijab and niqab.

--Hijab covers chest and head.

--Niqab covers the entire face and usually big.

I will NEVER support anyone wearing Niqab either in school or at home, I see anyone doing that like a masquerade.

Like you rightly said, Niqab will be a security threat coz you won't see the face of the person wearing it and criminals/terrorists might take advantage of it.

But Hijab shows the face of the person, it shows the school uniform, so why are people jittery about it?

If the traditionalist are comfortable wearing it to school and in the public like the hijab girls do then why not. Hijab is a standard of dressing for Muslims. If the traditionalist have their standard of dressing then they are welcome.
