If this website is credible, you shouldn't be considering "Help to Buy Scheme"

Help to buy as a whole closes in Oct 2022. It's altogether possible that it has closed in some areas. The help to buy ISA is closed. The help to buy equity loan scheme is still open till Oct.

It seems your intent to make it your sole residence at the point of purchase seems to be the major consideration of HMRC in deciding to either claw back the bonus or not. They do allow for change in people's circumstances which might lead them to either sell or rent out the property. Check these articles for further information.

If you're selling to replace the family home then that's fine as you're still buying another home to live in. Otherwise, I have no idea what happens if you don't replace the sold home - a conveyancing solicitor will be able to advise.

Yes, buying to replace the family home.
Thanks

I think we might be due for a Thread on Financing Houses. Just like we have for Students, Parents, etc. A Thread for people on the Mortgage journey would be nice. Ticha, Lexusgs430, etc have given some very good tips on this thread but we may need to compile them.

I agree with you.....make our ogas and madams help us

1 - Yes you can add the LISA to the deposit.

2. The biggest issue with this is that the bank will only take your earnings into consideration which will of course reduce your purchasing power. Secondly If you have a joint account and any money is coming from there or sugar's account for the deposit, your sugar will have to either declare (signed and noted by solicitor) that the money is a gift to you and that they have no stake at all in the house. Thirdly buying in separate names does not reset the first home buyer advantages unless you're not financially linked in any way. It will have to be a completely arms length transaction.

My advice - buy the first one jointly as a family home and you can play shenanigans with any subsequent purchase.

Thank you mma Ticha.
We will buy together. Na to look for Village to call home in the NorthEast be that.

Please do you know if we can transfer our esusu money into our LISA account, Like Block £10k at once without issues.?.

Nor vex say i dey ask to many question.

Hi all, please any tips to pass Drivers license theory test? How soon can one pass it? how do I apply for the theory test? Is the theory same thing for auto and manual license? I got provisional license yesterday. Thanks
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Romoller: 1:24pm On Jun 24, 2022
Alright. Thanks for the help.

mimilyrics:
It is possible. No risk as by this time, you should have completed all your taught modules and be on your dissertation. If that's the case, let your employer know so that your start date will ideally be after your dissertation completion. Alternatively, you can speak with your school since you might need a letter from them for your employer.
Also depending on the employer, pre-employment checks take anything from 3 weeks - 3 months so you might not even need to do anything out of the ordinary.
People have switched before the end of their studies without issues.

I’d still alter the job experience title on the CV if I were you. Eg from Logistics Manager to Project Manager. Tailor your CV based on the roles you are applying for as generic CV’s won’t fly. If you are applying for a logistics manager position then by all means, leave the title on your CV as Logistics Manager.

You can search for volunteer project manager roles on google and LinkedIn. Some roles will pop up but also check the sites below.

Thanks bro.is Airbnb cheaper and what's is process for hunting and applying for council/social housing

Accommodation is difficult to get right now for your family size. Book an Airbnb before coming at least 1 -2 weeks. Check openrent & start hunting, apply for council/social housing(Housing association)while at it…you’re likely to be prioritized.

Its not the loaned amount plus 20% of the value.
Its just 20% of the value at the time of repayment.

Ticha:

The amount you will pay back is the money you were loaned plus 20% of the value as at the time you're repaying. Whichever way, unless house values fall, you will lose that 20%.

Mine worse pass this one cos I lived in Middlesbrough, got in Jan, didn't get a job till April when I left for London area

Imagine paying school fees and rent in naira, I no fit cry but I was prepared based on advice from this thread especially Oga Just wise warnings grin

.. And you see those care jobs, the depression no be here. Went to one on Monday and quit same day cos they told me it would be a support worker role and not all this wiping yansh

Best advice, look for the Mental Recovery Support roles in Leeds, Bradford area and tailor your Cv to them and apply.

They're support jobs that you look after individuals in supported living, mostly people with substance abuse or mental health issues. You don't do any form of personal care for them, it's just medication administration, key working and daily logs

Keywords on Indeed - Recovery support worker, supported living, assisted living, mental health support worker

They all ask the same questions at interviews (I have done at least 12 since I moved to London area and I have never been rejected, I'm not exaggerating).
Typically questions revolve around Safeguarding, mental health act, scenario questions about what you'll do in certain situations, what you'll do if you notice a service user is being abused etc (you can check glass door as some of them are there)

Check creativesupport, NHS, Cygnet, Mencap.. they're almost always hiring for support workers

Also, register on Indeed flex, attend the interviews and you'll get shifts off there.

If you need additional help you can send a PM smiley
hello, please do you have contact for any support in London?

Good morning my people, please does anyone know about careerera IT training program. They have been wooing me with their training in cyber security and I'm considering them.

The training takes 12 months. 5 months for classroom learning, 1 month for project and 6 month for internship. They said it will cost me 1.2k pounds.

I will pay 200 as initial deposit and spread the rest through 8 installment.

Are they a viable option to break into the IT sector?

Council/Social housing is PUBLIC FUNDS. If your visa says ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ then just forget about council housing.

The time it will take for the hard copy to be posted. Received. Opened. Processed. Is more than the time it will take if it’s done online.

Do yourself a favour, apply online if you want it to be fast.

Website (www.careerera.com/about) looks fairly ok. However, seemly ridden with red flags
Quick one on breaking into IT sector, you might want to look at which area you intending. IT is so vast. Some gurus here might guide based on reality on the ground. Also, go back some pages on this thread on some advices on IT: cybersecurity, data analytics, project mgt ...
