seriously though, i've been wondering why it seems nigerian television started in the 80s.

what programs did people watch in the seventies?

i know the 60s probably had no indigenous tv so no need to mention it i suppose.

Then a last one which I think was called The Dream. I remember a family driving @ night and then had a flat tyre. The dad starts walking and suddenly a vulcanizer appears out of nowhere @ like midnight. The stupid man then requests the services of the vulcanizer (which vulcanizer sits by the roadside @ midnight looking for customers?) Then I remember a group of people eating the intestines of the family in the car.

OMG! That movie was so scary!!! I was pretty young then,but I remember throwing up my lunch when I got to the intestine-eating scene...

The Lagos is fryover housemaid role was played by Kate Henshaw.

Ragos is Fry over was said by Uche Osotule who played Nkemjika, a girl from the village brough by Nduka's (Bimbo manuel) mother (Obiageli molube) to marry cos his wife cudnt bear him kids then.

Kate Henshaw played the role of a house maid in a late 90s/early 2000s sitcom. It certainly wasn't in the 1980s.

Is it that nobody here also watched NTA Benin programme "Hotel de Jordan"? Some of the characters were Kokori, Idemudia, Chief Ajas, etc. Sam Loco was also one of those who featured in that programme. Make una talk na, no be only me be old man here o. Laffing!

How could I forget Kwaghir? The amazing puppet and masquerade show from Benue. I LOVED the signature tune. We had both funny and scary puppets and masquerades.


A festival of the Tiv people in Benue state of Nigeria, it is a display of traditional masquerades, puppet theater, some forms of acrobatics, dancing, music and sartorial display. A colourful festival indeed, it attracts many people and is accentuated by the friendliness and warm welcome of the Tiv people of Nigeria.
