Good evening fellow nairalanders. Please I need help regarding the below.

I applied for Canada tourist visa and also applied for admission in a Canadian university.

I have done biometric capturing for the tourist visa application.

Recently, I was offered admission by the Canadian university that I applied to

I am yet to receive a feedback regarding the status of my tourist visa application.

Please I want to ask if it is possible for me to apply for the study visa with the admission letter that I have been given despite applying for tourist visa already?

Thank you very much

There are options provided by Flywire, if you choose to pay by card or local bank account in Naira, the rate is around C$1/455 as at June 12: so, it is better to choose "International Payment in USD/CAD/EUR/GBP", this will enable you to use Form A and pay at the prevailing rate of the CBN—C$1/326 as at June 12.

Pls Good evening Showyoung !! how long will this process take ? Same as Normal form A ?

Hello Herlymah

I am sure your question would have been answered by now, cos I know I am answering this late..

Your sponsor is clearly a 3rd party sponsor, which means you have a very slim chance of getting your Visa if you fail to convince the Visa Officer why you using your Maternal Aunt as your sponsor and not your Dad or mum..

Your 3rd party sponsor must be ready to show total commitment to our studies and living expenses and also make sure the funds will be readily available all through your study in Canada, for you to stand a chance of getting your PPR... Also you must make sure you show close relationship with this said sponsor, like getting a proof of her sponsoring your education in the Past or an old pix of both of you.

Even though you have a slim chance of getting your Visa with a 3rd party sponsor, it isn't impossible as we have seen peeps here using their uncles and Aunts as sponsors and still got their Visas.. Just make sure you and your aunt do some serious home work to really convince the Visa Officer as regards the sponsorship part of your application.

PEACE

So what you’re trying to say is if I’m applying for visa under a bachelor program and my cousin is my sponsor and we don’t even share sane surname but I used to work under his company since 2017 and till now and I also have a registered clothing business aside , do I still have a slim chance for the visa ?

The answer is YES. You should go ahead and apply for a study permit. Whether or not you have a visitor visa, you MUST apply for a study permit to school in Canada. And the processing time for study permit is way shorter when compared to visitor visa.

I was in the same situation as well (had a visitor visa application in progress before I applied for the study visa).

Thankss so much, please I would like to connect with you for a more personal discussion. I sent you a mail request , you can also reach me on the number in my footnote
bullstriker:
1. When reapplying, am I to tackle only the reason for my refusal or I have to submit proof for every category again?

You have to meet the requirement for every aspect of your application in this new application. If you focus only on the reason for the previous refusal, the visa officer can refuse your application with a new reason. Therefore, you must submit proof of sufficient funds, employment, ties, education etc.

2. Since I am unable to gain access to the Sop submitted for my first application, what do I do? Do I go ahead with writing an LOE to clarify the VO on the reason I was denied in my first application or Would the gcms note provide clear details of what was written in my SOP?

My advise would be to wait for the GCMS note. Although the GCMS note will not contain all the information written on your SOP, it will have the details on why your application was refused. The refusal letter you receive is generic. Meanwhile, you can start drafting your SOP and finalizing it when you receive the GCMS notes.

3. Must I submit payslip?

Payslips are not mandatory. However, it will help convince the visa officer that you indeed work for the company, especially if your salary does not reflect in the bank statement.

4. How do I go about the reapplication by myself. Firstly, I learnt I would need to download the “use of representative form” in order to cancel the rights of my representative. Secondly, how do I submit it? Is it through webform or along with my second application documents?

The Use of Representative form (IMM 5476) you signed with the consultant/lawyer was for the refused application. Since a decision has been made on that application, the person is no longer your representative for this new application and will not access it. In other words, there’s no need to submit IMM5476 to cancel the representation.

Considering the total cost of your tuition and living expenses, if your mum doesn’t have a source of income, spending 61K out of the 85K seems unreasonable even if you are the son. Did you submit proof of source of income for your mum? An employment letter and if self-employed, proof of business registration?

You can withdraw your money after submission, as IRCC cannot access your statement beyond the one you gave them, and banks do not reveal current balances to them. Although this rarely happens, IRCC sometimes asks for updated bank statements if they suspect the applicant borrowed the funds.

You can apply as a self-sponsor. But note that as a self-sponsor, you would be required to show tuition fees for the duration of your studies. For example, if you are going for a 2-year program, you must show two years' tuition fee and $20,000 for living expenses, assuming you are applying alone. Therefore, I believe it is better to use your mum as a co-sponsor.

Good morning Family……..

Please I have a question. My international passport will expire in February 2023, and the duration of my course is 1 year (from September 2022 to April 2023 with co-op).

Now, I have renewed my passport. Should I send a webform to inform IRCC I got a new passport or can I just send the new passport when IRCC sends my PPR??

Hi please I’m having similar issues my application was refused on 20th of June, applied through an agent
I then requested for my Gckey logins he’s been refusing, is it possible for me to re-apply without the first application logins meanwhile I can’t examine what he’s submitted for the SOP

Your response will be much appreciated.

You can be self sponsored. If you have HND/Bachelor degree, you should go for PGD/PGC or Master's degree depending on your CGPA so as to claim career progression.

Although, Diploma too can work, but post graduate study will give you more strength in convincing the visa officer of your purpose of visit.
