For a long time I maintained that the reason Nigeria cannot refine enough oil for itself and has to export crude and import refined oil is political sabotage. The reason our roads don't last for 15 years like they do in other countries is sabotage. The reason Nigerians don't have electricity till date is sabotage. These things are not difficult. It isn't rocket science. All it takes to have working refineries is to give a company that specializes in this field a contract and make sure they deliver according to specified terms. All you need for electricity in Nigeria is to give power generation and transmission companies the contracts to build power plants all over Nigerian states (and stop this national grid nonsense by the way), and insist on getting value for money.

Peter Obi went to Egypt and came back to say giving Nigerians constant power is not hard. We all know this. This is 2022, the era of unmanned drones and artificial intelligence and we can't get electricity from something as basic as principles discovered by Michael Faraday and his contemporaries hundreds of years ago. Haba! It is not hard, the powers that be don't want you to have electricity, and you should ask yourself why.

Obi didn't visit Egypt for the fun of it. He is bothered by these issues and now he knows for sure that getting power in Nigeria is not as hard as they've made you believe. This man will fix a lot of things in Nigeria if we give him the chance, trust me. His desire and drive are evident. His value system is topnotch. His understanding of Nigeria's problems is on point. For once in a long time we have a chance to get this country going on the path of redemption. Let us not waste it.
