Did the court grant all the prayers? If the court truly granted all the above prayers, then Edevbie is now the candidate pending the decision of the Supreme Court.

I yanked the monikers off it because I couldn't double-check that info. All I know is that except the PDP Constitution or Electoral Act is called into play, Edevbie will be the Candidiate.

That's what I was saying: That was not one of his prayers but during the Lyon debacle, the FHC also gave similar judgement.

If Sherriff appeals this judgement, PDP will not be able to meet up with the July 15 deadline set by INEC.

From the look of things, PDP will be out of the gubernatorial polls.

Going by Saleh v Abah, the Supreme Court has set a precedence.



Abah had forged his Certificate and won the House of Reps election, and Saleh challenged him. The SC though did not let Saleh take the House of Reps seat because he didn't pass through all the stages of the election but ruled that the second highest votes is the winner.

However, in this case, unless the Court ruled that the PDP did not follow the provisions of the Electoral Act or their own constitution, Edevbie is the Candidate.

It's not okowa that will submit the name but the party(PDP)If ibori and okowa did'nt iron out their differences,then,they will rock the pdp boat and they will all sink.

According to section 29(6) of what you attached, the sponsoring party stand disqualified from the contest. If the general election has been held before this judgement and PDP had won, the party that came second would be declared winner.

The aspirant that came second at the primary election cannot inherit the ticket since the winner and party have been jointly disqualified. Now I see why the judge simply disqualified Sheriff without granting any other consequential order in favour of the petitioner. Las las, Na Supreme Court go decide this matter.

You might be right, Appeal court would likely say status quo should remain pending the judgement. This may drag till election time which PDP would likely win. Appeal court or supreme court may uphold the High court judgement that he stays disqualified. Then APC candidate who would likely come second in the general election is declared winner based on the provisions of the law.
