A delegation of APC Governor's ably led by the (Lagos) State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu , Rotimi Akeredu of (Ondo) State and Governor Kayode Fayemi of (Ekiti) State storms River State to Woo him to the ruling party.

Meeting wike is not a big deal, fayose felt he can convince wike and that is why south west APC governors followed him to port Harcourt! Wike knows that he has no mouth to speak to port Harcourt people to vote tinubu or APC the only thing he can do for a tinubu is allowing those you truly want to vote to do so...but wike talking to Rivers people about tinubu? He won't bcoz he knows the man is relatively unpopular in rivers! Again wike can never decamp to APC and that's so simple

But this is politics.

If Wike is convinced that APC will win the Presidency, he'll be tempted to move to save his ass from the barrage of forces he'll have to contend with once he completes his term. EFCC being no.1.

A photograph of Wike and Amaechi hugging and laughing in a few months time? Impossible?

Don't rule it out. This is Nigeria.

If they are sincere, Rotimi Amechi should be there with them. They just want to use Wike because of Rivers money and dump him thereafter. Wike should be wise enough to be Obidient.

Most people supporting seem to be new in the system. Now I understand why they insult whoever opposes their choice. They're not there to woo him to APC but to work for APC. He has a governorship candidate in the state. All they have to tell him is that if APC can get 40% in Rivers, they would deliver his governorship candidate and maybe after swearing-in on May 29th 2023, he alongside the governor would defect to APC. That's all.!

He is still overwhelmed by his illusory control of Rivers state. He has no strong governor under his control. The few he has can't influence their state to vote against PDP just like himself. Joining apc out of his usual arrogance won't change result for pdp but will rather complicate things for him.

In that scenario, they can even give him the option to remain in PDP with the new PDP Governor if he wants.

APC don't need Wike to defect. Like you said, they just need him to stand back and let APC secure a high percentage of the votes. APC will be very happy with 40%.

Governors win elections in Nigeria not because they control their State. It's usually because they spend a lot of money on election day to buy votes.

All APC needs from Wike is for him not to spend on election day and leave the field for them.

The coming Presidential election will be the most cash-induced in the history of Nigeria, if Ekiti election is anything to go by.

At N10k per voter, and with Wike not releasing money to PDP, many PDP voters, especially in rural areas will collect APC's N10k and vote for them.

That's how APC will hope to secure up to 40% of the votes.

People also forget that there's no guarantee that Wike will be in control of PDP after he completes his term.

The new Governor he puts there is likely to betray him and seize control of the party. This is what tends to happen.

So Wike's no.1 priority now is about how best to get a soft landing from EFCC etc, not about whether he remains in PDP or not.

my brother which beautiful bride. Politics is also about calculation. APC want to use him to disrupt the PDP structures in Rivers. And for Wike, the move will protect him from his enemies waiting for him to end his tenure in Rivers....especially does Ipod gangsters.
