Fashola was never in politics before he became the governor of Lagos state and he's my favourite among them, osibanjo too was never in politics before he became the vice president, so I see no reason why funke akindele can give it a trial as well

However, a Deputy Governor candidate in one of the two major political parties, in fact the known opposition party in Lagos State - is as good as a Governor.

It isn't something that is done as an after-thought. Such role has to be filled by a person who has been in, about and around governance and who understands his/her role in delivering excellent service to the populace at the level and functionality of a State Governor.

As far as I know, BankyW fits that - if it comes to a popularity contest on the strength of fame in the entertainment industry as a leverage to tilt electoral victory in the PDP's favour - than Ms Akindele. Banky had been in the political 'trenches' for at least one cycle, and understands the dynamics of same. This 'emergency' politician in Jenifa reeks of unpreparedness in the PDP camp.

Running a small to medium-scale NGO in Lagos is a world apart from running the governance of Lagos State, the second largest economy in West Africa after Nigeria as a Country, from Alausa.

Marital problem has everything to do with it.

As deputy governor she would be representing the governor on a lot of female matters. How exactly is she going to advise mothers on how to sustain their marriage when clearly she couldn't keep hers?

Thanks for this feedback. I appreciate it.
However, if you read what I initially wrote, you may realise that I accommodated your sentiments - for its veracity.

Mr. Fashola as well as Prof Osinbajo were in and around governance and administration at high levels - both being Senior Advocates of the Federation - before they were voted into political offices. Both had worked as members of State cabinets in Lagos State, for example, amongst other roles.

I hope I am better understood.

In Nigeria today, the essence of Deputy Governor or Vice president is to attract more votes.


That was why Tinubu left competent people to pick a Boko Haram leader like Shetimma.


That is why PDP is also picking Funke Akindele.

If the entertainment industry will queue behind her, she could gather the much needed vote.


Sanwo-Olu has done poorly, he should not be rewarded for his poor performance.


PDP may not be the best, but not certainly a Sanwo-Olu who has reduced governance in Lagos since 1999

The fact that her marriage seems to have failed does not make her a bad woman or irresponsible woman. You are not in her marriage, hence, you cannot tell what outplays in it. Marital issues sometimes are incomprehensible and that's why the outsiders are not eligible to nose into it.
