Don't know about anywhere else, but most ruling parties lose the government house on election days in the SW (with the exception of Lagos though). Maybe because the attention of the movers and shakers of the party are major directed at their local bases. However, this doesn't determine where the pendulum swings.

All I know is that whoever wins will do so with less than 5000 votes; a bigger margin than the last one.
