Bassey to Ajax: A Club Record and a League Top 3 record

Bassey's 22M euros transfer will be a joint 2nd for biggest transfers both from Scotland to other leagues and from other leagues into Scotland.

It would also be Rangers' biggest transfer fee received of all time (Andre Flo's 18M euros was for money spent by Rangers to bring in a talent).

Rangers' biggest transfer fee received used to be 14M euros gotten for Nathan Paterson in his move to Everton done earlier this year in January's winter window.

Calvin Bassey, the record kid on a mission to the very top of the beautiful game.

Ajax are the best club for talent discovery and playing youth.

When it comes to development, that's a no. Only players that come through the academy will be developed significantly.

You can't compare the improvement EPL will bring to your game to Eredivisie.

If Brighton guarantee him gametime, and Ajax guarantee him gametime, go for the former.

Ajax are a bigger club, but EPL is a far bigger league. And Brighton is not just any team but a team that were top 4 in average possession last season.
the guy don go Ajax

The bad contract he signed with lokeren was his mistake not mine so stop whining

The likes of Kanu, jay jay, amokachi, ikpeba, oliseh etc then made good money playing in europe

Foreign then means foreign whether from a member EU state or not. Also, there wasn't enough money back in soccer then as you have now.

22M and sell-on clause for a Scottish-based player is amazing.

Brother is not leaving for anything less than 50m.

E no sweet you reach me baami. To think this transaction took just few days to wrap up makes it interesting. Not our players getting linked to clubs like forever and at the end nothing comes out of them. Rangers really cash out on both Aribo and Bassey sha. Dem go dey smile like this and expect dem to poach more Nigerian talents from small clubs in EPL.

We are... Athletics isn't just something we meet up to at the world stage . We are easily among top 3 in Africa, but the world stage is a different story .

Tomorrow, two of our guys Favour Ashe and Raymond Ekwevo will be participating in the semis of the 100m...

I'm still expecting the likes of Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume and Favour Ofili to win a medal...

Wen u suggest players to be capped born abroad many will tag u an ass licker but now we all re rejoicing having a massive talent like bassey in our ranks

The only super eagles defender who has the potential to play for one of Europe’s biggest teams in the nearest future

I will never turn my eyes off good talents whether born abroad or home

Then one will tell you that they are better players than bassey in the local league cheesy

In 2 or 3 seasons time ajax will sell bassey for nothing less than 50m euros. He has all it takes to be Nigeria’s most expensive defender

Wait ooooo currently he is oooo cheesy

The nff and jpes should swallow their pride and go all out for the likes of uduokhai, torunarigha ,adarabioyo then recall akpoguma to the team. All these washed up CBs currently in the team should be discarded gradually. Awaziem, omeruo, ekong and balogun bye bye

It’s time to start building towards 2024 afcon and 2026 world cup

A Rephrase: Bassey's fee is 27M euros total and it is a Joint SPFL Transfer-out record

Bassey's fee is gonna be 22M euros guaranteed plus 5M euros add ons totalling 27M euros for the whole transfer fee package.

Now that equals Tierney's fee paid by Arsenal to Celtic. 27M euros as well.

Bassey also becomes the most expensive Defensive signing in the history of Ajax Amsterdam. Wow. Go and conquer this new level Kiddo.

Another good talent that I knw that will blossom in the championship this coming season is sunderland’s new signing alese. Saw him play in one of westham’s uel game and he was impressive

He is one to be monitored as well

Also highly rated 20 year old Atalanta’s cb Caleb okoli. Highly regarded at the serie A side and Italy’s youth teams but by the look of things him and udogie will be very difficult to take off the hands of the Italian football federation

I once had doubts that Ajax will be pay anything above 15m for the lad but for them to cough out such huge amount for a player who just had 2 good seasons of top flight football implies he is highly rated by the Dutch giants

@ Charlesemeka85, keep an eye on this. Time will tell.
And it all started with this 2 days ago. grin

Charles... I told you to keep an eye out and see where e Don bring us. wink

Lisandro's imminent move to Man Utd was what started this whole thing.

To think that at the time Aribo to Southampton was being concluded, there was still no transfer news around Bassey makes this all the more beautiful. The speed of this transfer.

Ladies and Gentlemen... We have another one at a historic club. The perfect springboard to bigger things.

Cheers to the best Nigerian transfer move of the 2022 summer window... so far.
