I stopped reading after the comment about the guy that lives in a rented apartment for $35k per month. I became weak immediately because Nigerian professors make less than $1k in that same month.

He turned her nuts but her story doesn’t add up. I’ve pulled a few facts and I’m still confused.

�Her abusive husband served 11 months in prison and she waited for him to return.

�In November of 2020, police in Florida pulled her over with 7 unrestrained kids in her car. At the end of 2020, she had a car and her kids in her custody then in 2022, she’s homeless and her kids are across the country in California. How did she lose them?

�She reports being robbed and pushed down subway stairs in May 2022. 2 months after being pushed down a deep flight of concrete stairs and landing on concrete, she is able to walk with no signs of injury and was seen dancing. DC subway CCTV records everything but there’s no incident report, police report, or CCTV video of the incident..

�She was taken to a shelter where she charged her laptop, transferred money, then left. On another day, the police tried to take her to a shelter but she refused and fled.

�She refuses help from the police and the area residents but contacts the residents to ask for money.

�Her parents in Nigeria could afford boarding school and sending her to study in the US, her father is a journalist in Nigeria, they know she is homeless, and she says they can’t help her.

�Her aunt that lives in Louisiana said she is seeking a place to settle so she can get her children back. Instead of heading to the West coast where her children are, she moved up the Eastern seaboard to break into houses in New York ( 4,761 km from her children) and refuses shelter, the thing she is said to be looking for.

She's not mentally okay

[Very Sad but I must confess or suggest she should come back home . At least she will have a place to lay her head ]

I don’t believe the part about her trying to regain her kids. They are in Cali and she traveled to New York, a move that would make family court dates impossible.
If she would’ve stayed in the shelter the police took her to, she would’ve been placed into subsidized transitional housing within a few months. Social services would also help her find permanent housing so that she can be reunited with her kids. At this point, she’s voluntarily homeless.

Suppose she has mental issues. Is it possible to commit her to a rehabilitation centre without her initial consent since no family member is getting involved? Isn't there a way that the social welfare services can find her husband and children ?

There are hundreds or thousands like her in New York city alone. Being homeless for 1 month alone can make one go crazy. It's a fearful sight in NY.

Actually the same thing all over the world. One just wishes their number can be reduced by tackling issues responsible for this.

Probably not, especially since she isn’t displaying dangerous, out of control behavior. The behavior she’s displaying is considered criminal. Even if she was committed, she can sign herself out in 72 hours unless she is evaluated and released before 72 hours have passed. Her children are not in her care, are too young to do anything, and she might be prohibited from contacting them. Her parents and aunt aren’t doing anything.

Sad but I agree with you.
I don’t know if you’re here in the States and know this but an immigrant w/ children fleeing an abusive marriage would quickly be given free housing, utilities, food, clothing, job training or schooling, no questions asked. A whole new life. She’s refusing an opportunity thousands would kill for.

thats the problem with you weak headed nigerians. you simPly dont understand logic. thats how one idiot will be saying i will be enjoying life even if i am sweePing the street of america making 8 dollars an hour. you fools fail to realise that the cost of living in these countries is very expensive. a nigerian professor earning 1000 dollars a month is equivalent to an american professor earning 7 thousand dollars a month ( and thats what they earn ) because the american professors accomodation is like 3000 a month while the nigerian professors accomodation is FREE, and if he lives off campus lets say at university of ife the yearly rent of campus for a nice place is 300,000 naira a year which is about 500 dollars a year and yet he earns 1000 a month. tell me who is better off ? a naija professor earning 1000 a month or a yankee professor earning 7000 a month ? THE NAIJA PROFESSOR IS DOING BETTER. HE MAKING 12000 DOLLARS A YEAR AND HIS ACCOMODATION IS ONLY 500 DOLLARS A YEAR. DONT FEEL SORRY FOR NIGERIAN PROFESSORS. THEY ARE GREEDY LOTS.
