After 4½ months of waiting i should withdraw my application. Did you even understand a thing i wrote cuz i dont know where your response is coming from. So me am not strong willed or i dont have grace. I only implied that ppl that might get affected by the delay to have a back up plan. Even if one has faith as big as mount Everest its good practice to have a plan B in life. Nigerians have an abysmal 11.8% visa Approval rating with IRCC i didn't make that up its d stats. Plus its just an opinion.

You will get youR PPR soon. That’s for sure. No vex

Yooo

I've been largely a lurker here but I garnered enough information to do it myself.
I just got my PPR on my 3ed attempt.
Timeline:

1st Application: October 10 2020, very lame application. Was overconfident after applying to the US and UK myself without rejections. Didn't do my homework properly. Had 3 grounds for rejection including:
- Poor relationship with sponsor (Uncle without the same last name)
- Unreasonable study plan
- Purpose of visit

2nd Application: May 28 2021. Mitigated all but one of the officer's concerns. The officer had concerns that my sponsor's (mum) account had lump deposits. To be honest, they don't understand how a typical business person in Nigeria runs their account.

3rd Application: February 18 2022. Decided to leave no stone unturned. Paid the rest of the tuition and purchased a GIC. Then a really long wait. Started to stress my MP's office, which was of immense help. Got an ADR for another medical examination on June 10th. Exactly one year after the previous medical examination expired. Medical passed June 30th. PPR this morning.

Overview of successful application:
Submitted on new portal February 18 2022
Medical request June 10th
PPR July 21st.

Can't wait to leave

Glory!!! Congratulations... i am next

Not bad, everybody's case is different. I have 3.78/5 and most of those schools rejected me. They only check the last two years, if your last two years is better then you have a higher chance. What I mean is when was the deadline for the window you applied? If deadline was May, then it's not up to 3 months yet so you need not worry.
Nzealibaba:
nothing really special about my profile . I have 3.8/5 in electronics and computer engineering Bsc and I am applying MSc electrical engineering and computer science, But I have some publications and projects .I didn’t even know how big they were till after I applied . If I knew I would have applied some minor schools as plan B . I actually applied in may not March

Please someone should assist me here

Dear Darling4real,

Good morning All,
Please I need an urgent advise to make an important decision. Graduated 16years ago with Bsc in Biochemistry and has been working in bank for 13years. I now want to apply for pgd in financial management, though I have an MBA in 2013. Please what are my chances for both admission and a study permit? Kindly help
.

The key will be to draft a convincing SOP that will explain the career pivot from your course of study to your work experience, and explaining the fact that you have an MBA but now going for PGD. It is not impossible but you have to find a way to use your banking experience to drive the need for the PGD in Fin Mgt. No one can definitely say what your chances will be for the SP but admission will be a piece of cake.

university of Alberta
Mcgill university
University of British Columbia

I applied since March . Haven’t heard anything from any of them ..
or have schools not started sending mails to students for winter .

Dear Nzealibaba,

These schools are top schools and competition for them is stiff, na "students dey rush them" check their admission processing timeline to see if you are still within time, you can also place a call to admission or international office for further clarification

All the best

Hello Highburygonner, congratulations!

Please I'll like to know how you submitted your references for seneca college application? did you upload reference letters or did you add their contacts to your cv?
I'll appreciate your response, thank you.

highburygonner:
God did it. I give him all the praise. This would have been impossible without Him.

My journey to Canada began in 2014, when I submitted an application for the Federal Skilled Workers program. I sent my documents to Canada in December of 2014, and in April of 2015, I called to inquire about the status of my application, only to be informed that it had been returned to my address because the NOC that I applied for was full. I never received those documents back.

I was devastated, having invested time, effort, and money. My then agent requested that I reapply immediately through the newly introduced express entry program, as I met all of the requirements but was too emotionally exhausted to undergo the process again. I basically gave up on the Canadian dream.

Life goes on.

In 2017, my wife and I made the decision to try again. In 2018, I entered the pool, but my points were just too low to get an invitation to apply. I also applied for PNP in some provinces, but I wasn't selected.

This time, however, we resolved not to give up. We will keep trying.

Going to Canada through study was never appealing to me.

All that changed last year, when we decided to try the study route. I came here to learn the requirements and the process involved. I was astounded by the quantity of information I received. I read parts 18–20 to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire process. I discovered that I could do it myself after receiving loads of information here.

I applied and got admitted to some schools, but decided to settle for Seneca College (1 year program PG).

After paying the 1st semester tuition fees in February, I realized that the available funds would not be enough to show proof of funds. We then decided to sell one of our properties. From the proceeds of the sales, I was able to pay the second semester tuition fees and send some money to my spouse's account for family upkeep (I did all these things to demonstrate that the lump sum was not intended for demonstration purposes).

Timeline:
Application submitted May 11th, 2022.
Biometric was done on the 16th of May, 2022 and was updated the same day.
I booked June 20, 2022 for an upfront medical at IOM.
Medical request in the early hours of June 18th. Omo I was excited.
Medical done: 20th of June
Medical updated: 22nd of June.
BVL: 30 June 2022
PPR: 30 June 2022

Documents submitted:
SOP
LOE (extensively explaining lump sum, breaking down proof of funds, etc.)
LOA
Tuition fees receipt (full year payment)
Attestation of Birth certificate
MBS (5 different accounts)
Police Character Certificate
NIN
Offer of appointment letter
Confirmation of offer of appointment letter
Salary increment letter
Recommendation letter from CEO
Reference letter from my immediate boss
Study leave approval letter
4 months payslips
4 months MBS salary acc.
Staff ID Card
Marriage certificate
Consent letter from spouse
Family pictures
Spouse's NIN and Birth certificate
Children' s NIN and Birth certificate

ND/ HND Certificate
WES evaluation
Résumé
Professional certificates
NYSC certificate
Properties (Valuation Reports)
Deed of assignment and power of Attorney of property sold
Cars (proof of ownership certificates)

A guy I did medical with on the 20th had his medical updated on the 23rd and received PPR on the 24th, so I was concerned when I didn't receive PPR after my medical was updated to pass. Due to this, anxiety nearly killed me.I was wondering why I had not yet received PPR and what could have caused the delay.
Yesterday at 4 p.m., I began sending emails to a number of email addresses found on this page. I submitted a web form to Nairobi as well.
Then, I received the golden mail this morning.
I believe that the email and web form did the trick.

A big shout out to Justmellow for writing an outstanding SOP and for reviewing my final documents.I emailed him a lengthy draft. He shortened it into a 3-page study plan, and it made a lot of sense, though I had to write an elaborate LOE.
Thanks to Frank for providing me with advice that altered the entirety of my application.
I am grateful to Anon for reviewing my documents at a very short notice.
God bless you all.
A special shout out to @ACTIVATEOLUWASE, a brother I met here. When I needed assistance with my Form A, he graciously walked me through the steps. Thanks brother. I eagerly anticipate your good news.
Thanks to all contributors, you are all doing a yoeman' s job. God bless you all.
God will certainly remember all PPR hopefuls.

I apologize for the long post.

It looks some how shai....jus go for the masters.....my advice....look for a cheap school offering your course....GRE/GMAT about this one i don't know....for me,this depends on the course you are going for....GRE and GMAT there is a way to waive it....if you do your findings well....
JDB55:
Thanks for the prompt reply. But, with my 2:1 is it gonna look somehow if one decides to go for a PGD course in a college cos i'm not considering a masters yet cos of the tuition fee but i can afford that of a college. Also, some requires one to have a GMAT/GRE which i don't have any. And lastly what i defended in my project was based on Education.
