As criminal corruption scandals continue to rock state politics, including the for-profit charter ECOT cheating Ohio taxpayers out of nearly $200 million dollars and the FBI investigating former GOP House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, Republican Frank LaRose has remained silent.

“Ohio taxpayers have been cheated out of millions of dollars — money stolen from students and working families — while Republicans like Frank LaRose were lining their pockets with campaign cash from their corrupt friends,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chair David Pepper. “Frank LaRose has been silent on these scandal while consistently towing the party line that allowed them to occur. His track-record proves that he can’t be trusted to do right by Ohio taxpayers, schoolchildren and working families.”

LaRose has taken $20,000 in campaign donations from Bill Lager, the founder of the now-defunct Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow, and other corrupt charter school figures who stole millions from Ohio taxpayers.

As his own colleagues remain under FBI investigation for allegedly taking bribes from payday lending lobbyists, LaRose has stayed silent — taking some $4,000 from the industry himself.

“The more you dig, the more you find just how entrenched Frank LaRose is in this toxic culture of corruption,” said Pepper.
