remember Esther had to enter the king's chamber first before he determined she was good. whatever she did in there to please him was not prayers. |

| Re: Esther: The Orphan Girl Who Became A Queen by baralatie(m): 11:00am On Jul 24, 2022 |
emmy512:It was not prayers but it was favor The meaning is this because you are beautiful does not mean that beauty can buy grace before a man. A man can bullshit your beauty or sex manouveurs But if a woman finds grace which is favor .a man will bring heaven down if need be |

For those who were misquoting and mis interpreting the events in Esther's First! The king did not ask his first queen to come out to show her unclothedness/nor catwalk Secondly ,before you can enter to see the king in his presence(chamber).which is different from his private quarters.the king will see you first standing in the courtyard and if he finds that woman favorably he will point his septre to approach .if he does not it means that woman is finished and would be packed to a single quarters for life There is no amount of unclothedness you can use to pursuade, cajole his right of choice. If you like dance pass awilo and shakira.if he does not want you that is it For a woman to be selected it would take grace |

Esther is a wrong example to use. The Bible made mention that Esther was beautiful and her carriage led her to become the queen. At one time, she had to adorn herself with flashy dressing to draw the king's attention. You see am? We live in a very superficial world and Esther knew it. Her beauty gave her an edge like so many females today. Why the bible has her on record was because she used her beauty and boldness to save her people. Lesson learnt: be smart oo but sha be beautiful... |

VenumX:How many beautiful ladies do you think was selected and called for All of them virgins with beauty from 127 provinces ...at least we would be counting not less than 5000 girls with beauty more than hers (virgins) Certainly not beauty |
| Re: Esther: The Orphan Girl Who Became A Queen by VenumX: 11:34am On Jul 24, 2022 |
baralatie:If Esther wasn't beautiful, she wouldn't have stood a chance even with her distinct personality. In most cases, no one cares about how remarkable you are if you are not lustful to the eyes. That is my point. |

VenumX:That is where you need to reread that book again! All the girls were beautiful Esther had one thing going for her. she had favor on her head Favor is a serious issue for any woman. This is what it means for a woman to have favor on her head .what ever is required for that woman to succeed above her peers would be given to her It is not because that woman is beautiful (all the beautiful women are there[/b] Not her sexual prowess no Jewish girl can outdo a Moabite girl or a philistine girl or a Chaldean girl or Egyptian girl in this department If you read Esther story well..she was how and what dress she should wear ,the right perfume to use etc Every other beautiful girl were left to hustle like donkeys with heavy load on their backs If not favor Esther never stood the slightest of chances This phenomenon of favor was seen in Mary the mother of Jesus.it was said of Mary by Angel thiu art highly favored amongst women < It is only the Man Daniel that broke records upon records.the Angel Daniel you are favor d and beloved of the Lord ..that is serious levels So Esther was different from others not because she was beautiful.she was just favored shoved everyone else.the scripture even said twice concerning. Esther that she found grace before the king before the king summoned her into his presence! The only people were his personal servants ,Haman |

baralatie:You should be the one to read that portion of the Bible again. I don't have the time and energy for epistles. Who told you that among the girls forcefully taken to the king's house, Esther was the only one that had grace? If Esther didn't possess the personality she had, you think another girl there wouldn't have done close or exactly what she did? You say grace, is that what the Bible told you? That she was picked because of grace? Beauty and distinct personality was what got the king to notice her in that house and it was her boldness and smartness that got her to save her people. Stop arguing blindly. |

Esther 2 King James Version 2 After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her. 2 Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king: 3 And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege the king's chamberlain, keeper of the women; and let their things for purification be given them: 4 And let the maiden which pleaseth the king be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so. 5 Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite; 6 Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away. 7 And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter. 8 So it came to pass, when the king's commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king's house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women. 9 And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king's house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women. 10 Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it. 11 And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women's house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her. 12 Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women ![]() 13 Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king's house. 14 In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king's chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name. 15 Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her. 16 So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. 17 And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. 18 Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther's feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king. 19 And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordecai sat in the king's gate. |

In one of our Bible studies, a lady asked me if Esther is one of our biblical role model and she is not the first wife to the king who married her, why does today's Christianity condemns being a second wife to a married man? I looked at the lady and realised she's approaching 40 and still single, I felt like cutting her loose by saying you can go ahead and marry a married man if you like, there's nothing biblically wrong about that. But I asked myself again, will that be the right answer and if she quote me, can I defend what I just told her against my church's dogma? I just steered at her for a while and said let's pray. |

Now if on this tread some people are battling with the idea that Esther is not a true or good role model.imagine back then what her chances were if all that she had was physical beauty? |
